I little over 30 years ago, my parents bought a condo in Bay Forest. Multiple times each year, my family and I would visit. We got to know this community and all of its perks very well.
This is a lovely place to live. Gated entrance with a quiet residential area that focuses on preservation of nature amid the myriad amenities available for residents. Multiple paved walking trails. Lots of lakes and ponds. Abundant wildlife to see -- turtles, tortoises, birds, rabbits, ducks, just to name a few. Great pools scattered throughout that are very well maintained. Take a walk or bike ride along the trail down to the chiki hut that extends into the mangroves. You can leave your kayak on the rails and go out for a cruise on the water. Tennis, shuffleboard and pickleball courts. A great clubhouse with a gym. Often there are activities conducted at the clubhouse, such as local arts and crafts shows. So much to do and so much to see!
This location is also very close to shopping and local beaches. Wiggins Pass State Park is about a 5 minute drive south, while beautiful Barefoot Beach is about a 5 minute drive east (Collier County beach parking pass can be obtained by residents for unlimited free entrance to Barefoot Beach, too).
My parents have since passed away and the condo they called home for so long has been sold. After recently taking my last trip to Bay Forest, I realize how much I'm going to miss coming here. Not only did my whole family enjoy visiting my parents, but we also loved where they lived. In many ways this was a magical place, especially with children - both mine years ago and now my grandchildren.
