I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

I did some research afterwards and realize that they simply inject the dye sealant package ($50 cost) to do a temporary cover up which highly likely I will see a leak soon. It is very disappointing. Here is the invoice showing how they charge for an hour work today. Charged $262.50 to inject the sealant, and charged refrigerant by $175 / lb. My AC is 6 years old. - Updated after talking to the owner of the company. The owner told me on the phone that it will cost me $2000 + if they are conducting the leak search . As of 10/03/2024. The AC has failed, less than 10 days they have "fixed " the leak. They absolutely deserve a 1-star review. It is a borderline scam company. Make sure you get a quote from them and have them explain what they do to your system before agreeing to allow them to do any job. Had another company came out and identify the leak at the condenser within 30 mins. It was obvious due to oil presents where it shouldn't . Dutchman fool their customers in my case. Learnt my lessons.

George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland! High Quality, Tremendous VALUE
