He generously offered us everything from gardening gloves, to pruners & gave us some great tips on how to best cut the flowers growing on his farm. The property and gardens are so immaculate and well tended to, it simply a joy to be surrounded by such natural beauty. Our one hour on the farm flew by so quickly but we enjoyed every second we were there, despite the scorching heat wave that was sweeping through wine country that weekend. It is a stunning location to take photographs and the flowers we brought home with us lasted a really long time! We look forward to returning to this beautiful farm in the near future. He even made my son feel more at ease about the busy bees working hard in the field. There were so many flowers to choose from, it was easy to spend the whole hour walking the garden and picking your favorites. Be sure to bring your largest vase from home for easy transporting. We checked in, inside the barn with a very nice person who is very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of lavender and the operations of the location. Our friends were getting married and they picked this location for the beautiful lavender fields which was not only visually gorgeous but smelled amazing and calmed the body and mind simply being in the vicinity. There were people taking photos for all sorts of things, from maternity photos to family portraits to visually appealing instagram photos, to getting married on the fields. Our friends who was getting married, was given beautifully handpicked lavender bouquets for the occasion and we were the last party to leave with no hassle for the occasion. They sold many different things in the barn and it was hard not to buy lavender flavored things and scented things to bring home but we have a cat so we couldn't, since lavender is toxic to them. I cannot stress enough how gorgeous this place is and how calming it was to just be there. Even if you don't have a special occasion, and need a place to be and take in the lavender fields, I recommend coming here and checking it out. Just remember it's by appointments only.

We stayed in touch over the next several weeks before settling on an August date. We braved the high temps and winding roads to arrive at the ranch. It's a beautiful space on a hillside and you can see the herd and their guardian llama as you pull into the parking lot. We learned a lot about the alpaca life cycle, fed the boys, and my daughter got to hold and carry a cria. We bought two cute alpaca shaped soaps. I didn't experience any of the negativity others have complained about. It is a working ranch so it's not a petting zoo or a tourist attraction. Go with the flow and you'll have a great experience.

We liked several of the wines, notably the sauv blanc which was very tasty, the rose and the Merlot (a cab lovers merlot was how they described it). Our kids loved seeing all the animals - from sheep to pigs and chickens, a pony, donkey and more. It was a pretty setting, cozy and the server was friendly.
