I found this property while touring in the area a few weeks ago. The property is very clean and well kept. The Leasing team is supper helpful and the tour was very informative. While there, I met the Property Manager, Vivian, who introduced herself and asked how our day was going. You don't get that type of customer service everywhere. My husband and I lived here for 2 years. We honestly never had any problems. It's very quiet, safe, the maintenance team is awesome and the property is very well kept. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the hot tub was almost always broken (or turned off), the outdoor fire place doesn't work and the apartment gym is pretty lacking/sometimes broken (the stair master). Beware of constant airplane noise. This property is in the flight path of San Jose airport so there is constant overhead airplane takeoff noise throughout the day and night starting at 6:30 a.m. when one jet after another takes off. The sound is very loud and booming and I never got used to it. Most days the property smells of jet fuel which lingers from the constant flight takeoffs. Besides the airplane noise the biggest issue with this property is utilities. You're basically triple billed for utilities because not only do you have to set up two utility accounts (PGE and Santa Clara) --- but management also charges for utilities on top of that. Utility charges for this property are very high so be prepared to pay $300 or more monthly for utilities in addition to rent. read more

What makes Nantucket Apartments such a wonderful place to live is the people you first meet. Vivian, the property manager, runs Nantucket with such care. She has a warm, welcome greeting every time you see her. No matter what problem or issue you have, she always handles it calmly. I've witnessed this myself and couldn't let the day go without congratulating Vivian on how well she handled this complicated situation. Any situation that comes up with the property, she is aware of it and handling it as swiftly as possible. We've lived here a few months now, and we found that the staff is very friendly, helpful and quick to fix any issues we might have. When we first moved in within a few weeks we noticed that our AC was not getting cold, we notified the staff and within a couple of hours, there was somebody in our apartment taking care of the problem and was able to fix it right away. A few weeks later we had an issue with the dryer, and again I notified them, and they took care of it immediately. I've lived at other apartments, and We've never had this type of (quick) service. We are very happy living here. Also, they are pet friendly, the staff are familiar with our dog. They know his name and call him by name when they see him, our dog really likes the staff and wants to greet them when he sees them out and about. To all the staff, thank you for all you do. It is such a great place to live, I enjoy the natural vegetation that is planted all around the open spaces, the parking spaces are more than adequate. The support staff is amazing and caring. I've lived hear for at-least 2 years and during that time, I've need a couple of fixes done ranging from fire alarm battery replacements, window blinder replacements to air filter replacements and it was a smooth experience. I wish there was an option to have 0 stars on the review. I moved in with my wife into a new apartment and was left highly disappointed. In a span of a month after move in, we have had to call for maintenance 4 times and yet some of the issues are still not resolved. The kitchen flooring has wax marks on it and seems really ugly. The patio outside has flower pot marks from the previous tenants. We've had issues with bedroom blinds, lights going out, washing machine/dryer door getting stuck. For a new person trying to sign a lease with Nantucket apartments, I would warn them about poor management. Also, please do check the apartment you are going to lease before moving in. I am highly disappointed that I signed a year long lease with this community. read more

We are very happy here. Office staff is great and very helpful. Unit is lovely, nicely renovated with updated appliances. Maintenance issues can be scheduled online (after hours emergency help on property) Grounds are kept very clean and lush. Ample parking. 24 hour security as well as in unit alarm system. Several parks within walking distance. Ongoing improvements shows appreciation for tenants. Taco night several times a month is a fun event! read more

The airplane noise makes it difficult to live here. I thought I'd get used to it, but they fly over us every 1-10 minutes from 6:30am to 11:30pm. The double-paned windows are poorly insulated, so the noise is the same whether they're open or closed. I contacted the leasing office and they recommended blackout curtains. I installed some, but they don't help. I could buy window inserts, but they're expensive, and I couldn't take them with me if I moved. The outdoor part of the central AC adds to the overall noise in the summer. I recommend visiting the apartment to see if the noise and smell is something you can handle. On warm days it smells like sewage due to the water treatment plant to the north. I'm giving 1 star because I like the responsive maintenance team, the landscaping is pretty, and my apartment is spacious. I moved here from out of state and signed the lease sight unseen, which was a mistake. I'm moving when my lease ends, because I need a quiet space to study and work, and I want to be able to sleep in on weekends and have peaceful, anxiety-free evenings. I'd break my lease, but the fee is 2 times the rent. They offered to move me to a ground floor unit or one of the company's other complexes, but they're all in the same area, so I'd experience similar noise and smell issues. read more

This is the best apartment in the Lick Mill Blvd strip. We have been staying here for 10 months and we are very happy with the service of Nantucket. The staff in the leasing office are friendly but I'm super happy with maintenance service and staffs, any maintenance kind of issue related to your apartment is addressed on the same day or the very next day and there is no delay in the service. I really appreciate the service of Jose, he is very prompt with his service, he generally addresses any maintenance issues on the same day or the next day itself and he is very sincere with his work. Regarding the environment, it's very nature-friendly, well-lit apartments by sunlight, Guadalupe trail in front, Safeway nearby, VTA Lickmill station and Amtrack station are accessed by walking distance. The AC noise level can awake a dead... or at least will prevent you to have a good night sleep! They are old models and very noisy. Even with window closed you feel their vibrations through the structure of the apartment building. When a few of your neighbours are using them at the same time it is really bad! Sad since there is always a cool breeze from the Bay at night except for a few hot days in a year and its a quiet area... you could just crack a few windows at night instead of using your AC. read more

There's something wrong, yet oh so right about putting Cape Cod-styled apartments in the middle of Santa Clara. Nice amenities included a DVD library and vaulted ceilings on the third floor. However, it seemed to be priced a bit high. Unfortunately no one spoke like they were actually from Nantucket. We lived here for 13 months and really enjoyed this property. The location is near the new 49ers stadium and there are grocery stores and some food options nearby. There is also a park right next door and the Guadalupe River trail is accessible. The staff has had some turnover but everyone has been friendly and easy to work with. We have also had good experiences with the maintenance staff as far as things being repaired quickly. The grounds here are well kept, the pool area is nice and the little work out room is open till 11pm. Parking was never an issue and we loved that we had a full sized washer dryer in our unit. Some floor plans have stackable but ours had full sized. We lived in an upgraded unit with nice new stainless steel appliances, new carpet and flooring. In regards to noise, it was typically pretty quiet and most people keep to themselves. This place is dog friendly and has plenty of grassy areas to walk your dog. They do charge a $500 pet deposit and I believe $50/month pet rent which is pretty typical. I would recommend living here if you can afford the rent. We are trying to save to buy a house and just couldn't see saving up and paying $2400/month for a 1 bedroom unless we want to rent for many years to come. I lived at Nantucket Apartments from 2001 to 2021 (almost 20 years) so, obviously, I liked living on this property. Had I not needed to move to Texas, I would still be living here. Nantucket Apartments is an older property (it's about 25 years old as of 2021) but it's still an attractive one: The staff do a very good job keeping the property clean and do a very prompt and thorough job repairing any problem that arises both in the apartments and outside in the property. read more

There are definitely some great things about Nantucket -the office staff is friendly and responds within a day to questions -the apartments let in a lot of light and even our older model apartment is nice and comfortable -maintenance is great! The few cons are that -it's very expensive to make any changes to your lease-- this is typical with large apartment agencies -there is always some kind of really loud noise going on all day- leaf blowing or trimming. It's nice to live in a landscaped apartment but I would take some overgrowth and extra leaves on the ground if it meant having less noise pollution. It makes it really challenging to work from home all day. read more

So despite the fact that for appearances sake they have responded to the yelp review it still remains that the concrete outside most apartments is nasty and disgusting. And that's really the point. They're interested in appearances here. There are only attentive when you're trying to lease and once you've leased Good luck even getting them to answer the phone. Management is rude and inconsiderate. We were "REQUIRED" to move everything out of our storage closet multiple times within a span of 3 months to minor maintenance. Maintenance accidentally let our dog out did not inform us. We were contacted by a neighbor. One of the contractors that the property routinely uses entered our property without consent or notice. Management did not do anything to make sure this would never happen again. Property manager was annoyed that the phone rang to many times when I called in to ask a question. Pool was closed in October 2017 and was told that it would reopen in November 2017. It is now April 2018. Spoke directly to leasing office, as suggested, for an update and no info was offered. Property management is incredibly slow to fix things that they are not legally obligated to take care of, this include all amenities. Leasing office was me that amenities are not included in my rent so they aren't financially inclined to fix them. Remote access to main entry gates has be broken for since late April and repairs are still pending as of 6/20. Reached out the leasing office and was told that no repair action has been approved. A non working fireplace was added to the pool area. Contacting the leasing office will do nothing to help your experience a positive one! read more

We(2 adults)lived in this apartment complex for 9 months and we cleaned it before moving out.maintenance person shows before that and said apartment looks clean.After we moved out we waited a month before calling them for our security deposit and get only $95 out of $500 from our security deposit. Thats totally rip off as we haven't stayed there for even a year.We never received any information about what are we have we done for being robbed. One of the best apartments in Santa Clara (around Rivermark Plaza area) -- spacious and very near to all the important shopping areas. We have been living here for the last 8 years and we are very impressed with the supporting staff and as well as the leasing staff. The staff quickly reacts to the issues in the apartment (e.g., toilet flushing problems, A/C problems) and fix them immediately.
