Tennis courts abound and members of the Club use them every morning. We stayed at the Westmoor for two nights as my husband was a guest of the Film Festival. The rooms are VERY small, but comfortable. The bed is unbelievably comfortable as are the pillows. We actually looked for the pillow label to purchase several for our home. My only critique of the room is that it lacks electrical outlets close to the bed. The one outlet had the phone and the clock plugged into it via a night light (which we unplugged.). There is a steamer, iron, a very small ironing board that can be used on the bed, a security safe and a few hangers. We traveled with carry on luggage. Anything bigger would have blocked our ability to function in the room. Also, you will find umbrellas in your room closet, so don't bring one. The Westmoor has plenty of rooms to read and relax but I would definitely get out and see what Nantucket has to offer. It's a wonderful place. Internet at the facility is okay. It's not entirely open as some of our apps (games) were blocked. There is a very small flat TV in the room that has all the channels you need and the ability to log into any streaming service you might need. We only used it in the morning while we prepared for the day to see what was happening in the world Nantucket is GORGEOUS, so you're not going to stay in your room but to sleep. And sleep you will. The Westmoor is VERY quiet at night. The food at the main restaurant is OUTSTANDING. The chef has won awards for his seafood chowder. Order it! Make sure you know the dress code before you go and making a reservation is HIGHLY suggested. Seriously, ask them about the dress code before you arrive at the Westmoor Club. They are very accommodating but have rules. The staff is INCREDIBLE and is the asset of the Club. Friendly beyond belief and knowledgable about the area. Tim, the restaurant manager is an asset to the club. Uber/Lyft is easy to and from town. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the Club. The pictures on the website are deceiving as it's not close to the club at all. The continental breakfast that is complimentary is only pastries, some fruit, cereal bars and coffee/tea. They do not serve any protein here, so a diabetic will be hard pressed to find anything edible. They do serve breakfast near the Wellness Center that is outstanding. The folks they hire for the club can certainly cook. Every morsel of food we ate on site was incredible. My only critique here is that there are ants EVERYWHERE as you must eat at tables outside. And, the baskets the food is served in are disgusting. They have grease all over them and are just plain gross to touch.

Kids do kind of run the place and there's massive turnover from year to year. But Gary (a Nantucket native) seems to consistently lead a fairly happy, good natured team. Instructors work really, really hard and, in our experience, have imparted some important wisdom about when to stand, when to jump ship, and when to take a wave. Maybe even more importantly, they've nurtured our kids' love of surfing -- and that may be a lifelong thing. In general, Cisco has beautiful, long, gentle waves, and Gary seems to use good judgment about when to cancel classes because of choppy waves or other unfavorable conditions. Mahalo.

We started our daughter at Cadence during the pandemic. Cadence was so welcoming and facilitated me being able to meet my daughter's teachers via Zoom before we started. Although we were not able to enter the building to send our daughter off, they made it feel as though we could with their awesome report app that they use to send you updates and pictures of your child throughout the day. Through the last few years we have grown to know and love the teachers at Cadence. The daily note system they use gives parents a huge piece of mind of their children's daily activities. They also do progress reports on the children which are not at all generic. They are very personable and well critiqued. The additional activities offered through Cadence are cohesive and engaging. Events like parents nights, pajama parties, and arts and crafts parties offer even more opportunities for both education and social interaction. The teachers there love and accept all children with graceful patience like they are their own. They are very creative with their daily activities and classroom routines. Cadence, for my family, has allowed my wife and I to focus on our jobs while at work knowing that our children are nurtured and loved during the day.
