Recently I had the pleasure of stopping in to watch my niece play winter basketball and quickly I remembered why I loved this place. The Rec Center is filled with happy parents watching their kids play while the staff that has been around forever connected with everyone. The center itself hasn't changed much in the last 10 years, but it is clean and well maintained. Watching games here is a little frustrating because of the lack of seating, but overall that is the only flaw. In the end, it was great to be back in this building and I am happy that that staff here continues to be such a great part of children's lives.

Figure Skating sessions are limited, so call first. For $20 my kid got 60 minutes of ice time, which is great. Also so great? At 12 noon on a Monday there was only ONE other skater. Not so good? Ice quality. Very choppy. They needed an ice cut between public and USFSA sessions. Otherwise? For a small rink, it is just fine. Rental skates are $4. Call for public session times.

They have a weekend hockey program for children that is completely run by volunteers, and the first year the children get their (rented) equipment free of charge! Although the arena could probably have a little better ventilation, there is ample seating that allows for full view of the rink. Some time within the past 5 years or so they added a pizza place in there, which was much needed! Have yet to try the pizza, but the owner has pizza place down the street that has been going strong for 40 years now, so it can't be too shabby.

From the minute I walked into the unassuming building that is the wonderful House Of Rage, I felt AT home. I felt welcomed & cared for. Staff there were so very wonderful, gentle, & amazing and made us feel like we were hanging with friends while getting out some deep, hard emotions too.
