Went on this hike today, actually alone, in search of one of the 6 waterfalls in Manoa Valley. To start, I took the same route as I did when venturing to Waikeakua Falls. So I traveled as if I was going to The Manoa Falls trail but before hitting the Manoa Falls parking lot I took a right on Waakaua Road and then a left on Waaloa Pi and then a right on Waaloa way and went through the gate at the end. I stayed on the main trail and crossed one bridge and then at the next fork in the road I took a left. After about 30 seconds I saw a path to the left of the trail going into the woods and took that for about another 30 seconds until I came to another closed gate. I continued on this trail for about 30-45 minutes to reach the falls. The trail was very defined during the entire hike. I did have to cross the stream on 2 occasions. The first time is pretty evident because if u keep going straight you reach a dead end, plus there's even a rope to help you across. The second time was right before I approached the falls, I was on the left side of the stream and it looked like a landslide of trees had occurred so it obstructed the path, but if u cross the stream and go to the bamboo forest on the other side you quickly pick up another path with even steps. The waterfall was a thin trickle, despite the rain we have had for the past few days. I heard that this waterfall is mostly dry throughout the year. There were also a lot of fallen trees in front of the falls. Yet, it was definitely worth the hike back, very relaxing!
