Went here on a Sunday night and was really disappointed. Came back to our hotel and had something else to eat.
The reason for the one star is that this place is extremely dirty. My feeling is that if the restaurant and its bathrooms are dirty, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like.
They had a wash sink to the entrance of the bathrooms that I tried to use prior to my dinner but was unable to as there was no soap in the dispenser and no towels to dry my hands after. So in I went to the bathroom - what a mistake.
It was so dirty and disgusting that I held the door open with my foot while I washed up.
Once out and able to breathe again I sat down at my table and waited for our food. I took in the decor of the restaurant, which was mainly wooden tables and looked very nice. So I was hoping that things would get better.
Our food arrived, chicken with hot sauce and paella chicken in a bowl. Well, if you like your food to be very hot (spicy) to the point your mouth is on fire, this is definitely the place. The chicken was moist, smelled a little funny and the hot sauce realllllllly hot. I'd give it 3 stars for it being moist, but again the 1 star is for the overall experience.
The paella was not what I would consider a paella, I would call it a chicken rice bowl. It had rice in the bowl with chunks of chicken and raw onions on top - couldn't even eat it. I would hope that a chicken paella would have the chicken cooked with the rice so that all the flavors would merge together for a harmonious balance in my mouth. Definitely not the case here.
Oh and while I was waiting for my food I also noticed how dirty the walls were next to my table - again no cleaning staff here.
So if you are visiting Sydney for a limited amount of days, I don't think this will be a good place for a meal, unless again you like to have your mouth on fire and that's all you care about. Then, this will be perfect! read more
