We were pleasantly surprised how nice Nancy's Pizza was inside. It's seat yourself dining, although we waited an unusually long time before anyone actually acknowledged we were actually there. It's a chain, so as long as you come in knowing that and adjusting your expectations, you won't be disappointed. We ordered the greek salad, with the addition of chicken and a thin crust pizza. The salad was actually very good, the dressing incredibly savory. The pizza crust was thin, yes. Perhaps that was a mistake since it's allure is the deep dish pizza but after seeing the caloric content on the menu, it's nearly enough to give you a heart attack so we opted for thin crust. It was ok, but tasted artificial. It wasn't really crispy, and was a little too dense for my taste. The toppings and cheese slid off the pizza. It probably would have been better without so much cheese (I can't believe I'm saying that). The service was friendly, although we felt forgotten as times. I recently moved to central Illinois from Chicago and absolutely miss most things about it. So in my quest to find places that remind me of Chicago, I stumbled across Nancy's Chicago style pizza. It did not disappoint and I am so thrilled to have found it. As I was approaching the restaurant, I did not think much of it because it seem to be in a small strip mall but once inside, I saw that it was bigger than I thought. The decor is modern and stylish. There a large television behind the bar. I didn't get a good look at the bar but it does exist. My husband told me that the men's bathroom was nice and clean. No music in the background so it sounded like a cafeteria which was actually ok. I wasn't too thrilled with my waitress. She didn't seem as warm as she should've been. She didn't smile much. There was a steady stream of customers to eat in and to pick up. I ordered large stuffed spinach, pepperoni and jalapeño pizza my husband and myself. I ordered chicken fingers and fries for my picky five year old. She ate the fries and didn't touch the chicken. Our pizza was deliciously hot and cheesy. I would definitely eat here again. If my husband had his way, we would be here once a week minimum. Update: Though the pizza is absolutely delicious, it doesn't reheat in the microwave well. It's probably best reheated in the oven. The pizza is very tasty but falls short of the deep dish pizzas that I have experienced. I have eaten beep dish pizzas fro UNO's, DUO's LOU MILNATO'S AND GIORDONA'S are a few the pizza restaurants that I am referencing. I worked in Chicago area for 12 years. I find your crust to have a good taste but too thick for my taste. The sauce is very good. However, I asked for pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms on my pizza. It was very sparse. Pepperoni is one of the cheapest meats and I had a single layer on the bottom of the pizza and the sausage was minimally scattered. As for the mushrooms I can't tell you where they were. Normally I purchase a PAPA Murphy's but not their deep dish. The crust is under cooked for me. I will seek another deep dish pizza when some one recommends a restaurant. S read more

The food was edible. Regarding the Italian beef-- the bread was overly crunchy, the beef was not flavorful and greasy, and they don't serve it with au jus. The wings were chicken nuggets; they will charge you extra for ranch and roll their eyes when you ask for it. The service was truly terrible. The server acted like taking our order and bringing our our food was a chore that she shouldn't be bothered with. Pizza was very good for Springfield deep dish. Sauce was full of flavor, crust tasted great. We also got the buffalo wings, which were very good, too. Servers were very friendly, but could have been more attentive. My only complaint is that the stuffed crust deep dish didn't seem very "deep". I've been spoiled with amazing deep dish pizza from Papa Del's in Champaign as well as Giordano's, which both have significantly thicker crust. Ordered at 5pm Sunday, stated it would be 45 min until pickup. Showed up a few minutes early at 5:40. Myself and two other people were waiting well past our promised time. (1/2hr plus past) We watched many others come in and pickup their pizza during this time. I asked how they were doing with the pizza- I was told three different statements: 1. Pizzas should be done shortly. 2. They are boxing it up now 3. One pizza is done and one hasn't made it to the oven yet. Finally- the two pizzas were done. The supervisor/manager said she would put a $10 credit on my "account". She comp'd the lady next to me for her entire order, offered to comp another ladies order and I am not sure what-if anything-she offered the gentleman. Drove my 45 min home. Deep dish L pizza was made incorrectly. I could not eat it do to them adding mushrooms which I cannot eat. As well as- the majority of the pizza was crust. It has very little true toppings/cheese. The rustic Italiano cheese had a great flavor profile -however- I paid for fresh basil and I had one basil leave torn in 1/2 and that was it. As well as- tomato filets are not what you think here- they are very similar to a giant stewed tomato chunk. I called and spoke with manager and I have summarized the conversation below: Picked up pizza brought it home-it is incorrect- mushrooms were added and I specifically stated to make sure no mushrooms were on it. We ordered uncle Tony's. Manager said uncle Tony's has no mushrooms- I said yes- that's why I ordered it. But they are all over it. I cannot physically eat them. Manager questioned me about why- Explained- yes - they make me physically sick! (Which why should I have to explain to anyone why?) Then she said that she can't refund me. I asked why- she said because she doesn't have the product. I said I live 45 minutes away. I offered to take a photo and send it to her- she declined and then proceeded to state that she believes me. She then offered a different credit amount to my account. (This would mean I would have to go back and still spend more $ with them) Still stated she cannot refund me and that she would have to talk to the GM. I called Nancy's franchise management company today and explained what happened- they point blank said that I would not get a refund because they don't have the product back but she will pas it to the owner. My bill was $46.xx - for that amount- I expect the items to be made correctly. Customer service is not their strong suit nor is following their menu. read more

Ordered the "deep dish" it wasn't even close the size it should have been. Had it with the hot peppers mix. Flavor profile was very good, crust was a little soggy. The pie was maybe 3/4 of an inch not even close to what it should have been for 23$. Hoping it was just a fluke and they are learning the menu and not trying to be cheap and cut corners with ingredients to save money. The pizza maybe weighed barely a pound If that, was very lite and no where near the 5lbs bragged about in the history on their site. It should have been a good 3 lbs at least. I have eaten allot of real Chicago deep dish from my time living in that area. I know it's cliche but Lou Manatis, is still the best. I was hoping this would at least be Gino's East good. Until now, despite some local pizza joint's claims, there was nothing in Springfield for true Chicago style deep dish. Wife and I dined in. Dining area is on the small side. It was busy when we went. We took a bar seat at first and asked the hostess if we could move to a table when one opened up. The very young hostess was nice but mostly just presented as inexperienced. We ordered bread sticks and our stuffed deep dish "a lot of meat" pizza from the bartender. After a few minutes a table opened up and we got switched to the table. We didn't really appear to have a waitress once we switched to the table - not so good. The bartender came over to us every once in a while and brought us water refills - good. 20 minutes passed and no bread sticks so we asked the bartender, he checked, and about 10 minutes later we had breadsticks. They were really good and fresh. The pizza arrived at our table probably 45 minutes after ordering which is about right and expected for a stuffed. It was super hot and fresh out of oven. The taste was totally what I was expecting - finally, a true Chicago style pizza joint in town! I don't know if it's my favorite but it's up there. We've decided we'll probably just order it to go next time. As of this writing they've only been open a few weeks so we'll probably give them a couple more months to get their act together on customer service (seems to be the biggest complaint from others) before we hit it again. read more

Our family dined in the first week that it opened. It looks small on the outside, but medium size on the inside. My husband and I ordered a deep dish sausage and pepperoni. Our son ordered a meatball sandwich and granddaughter ordered a chicken wrap. For an appetizer we ordered mozzarella sticks and garlic bread. To begin with, the waitress just through the menus at us. The mozzarella sticks were some of the best I'd ever had. The garlic bread was dripping with oil to the pint of almost inedible. The chicken wrap was just okay. The waitress assured my son that the sauce on the meatball sandwich was not chunky, but it was. The sandwich was about 5 inches long. Half an hr after our appetizers, the kids received their entrees. Our pizza came 50 minutes later. Obviously the kitchen is disorganized with no communication. The kids were ready to go when we received the pizza so we inhaled a piece and packed the rest up to go. No apologies for anything from anyone. That's bad for business. The waitress had NO personality. The meal costed us $70, so that was another downfall. Finally, Chicago deep-dish pizza in Springfield! Ordered the "Uncle Tony's" personal pizza last time there recently, and it was awesome.

Decided to try this place out with one of my friends for dinner after work. Got there a little after 5:00 on a Monday and it was not busy at all. Got seated immediately and took a little bit to figure out what I wanted to try. I'm not a deep dish pizza person so I order a thin crust sausage and bacon. She ordered a small deep dish Uncle Tony's minus the green peppers. I ordered the same thing to go for my hubby to try. I substituted jalapeño peppers for the green peppers. My small thin crust was good, it was cut into squares which I prefer over triangle slices. The bacon was crumbles not slices. She enjoyed hers as well. Only thing I can say was for being a slow night it always seemed to take our waitress awhile to get back to our table, not sure where she kept going, but she was pleasant. My husband liked his pie as well and wants to go back. I will try the pasta next time. read more

I really loved my meal. After moving to Springfield from northern Illinois, I've really been craving a good Chicago deep pizza. Had one from Nancy's, and it was it. Perfect. Down to the quintessential cheese pull from every slice. All the ingredients, mm, you could taste the freshness from it. Large slices of bacon and huge chunks of ham. Fresh sliced mushrooms (yes, I can taste that). With it I got the bone-in Memphis sweet wings. And let me tell you what, I almost bit off my finger the sauce was so good covering the juicy chicken meat. The bread sticks were not as good as they could have been. Nor was the cannoli.
