I have found Jen to be highly knowledgeable as a fitness coach and nutrition consultant and her gentle guidance to be extremely effective, especially when compared to other diet and fitness programs that I've participated in. The daily hikes that Chad leads make the whole program fun and the magnificent vistas the hikes traverse make the experience genuinely spiritually renewing. As a person who has had somewhat debilitating rheumatoid arthritis for the past 20 years, I especially appreciate Jen & Chan's willingness to tailor their instruction to be age and fitness-level appropriate for the program participants. That, and their friendly, upbeat and encouraging manner makes it easy to remain engaged in their program. Additionally, Jen is very conscientious in providing her participants with dietary plans and exercise routines that they may take home at the conclusion of the program. This past month, I was able to complete a 7 day, 60 mile self-guided backpacking trip in Colorado's Weminuche Wilderness in the southern San Juan mountains. This trip involved hiking and camping above 10,000' for much of the trip and carrying a heavy pack more than 12,000' vertical feet in ascent over 3 high passes. This is the kind of physical activity I haven't done since my teens and I could never have accomplished this as a 65-year-old with out the fitness training Jen & Chad provided to me over the past 4 years. I had to come to grips with reality after looking in the mirror one day. Anyway I have struggled with weight my entire life since graduating high school. I tried every diet know to man and was an expert at all of them. But I believe they were just created for others to make money off of people like me. I never learned anything and always regained the weight and more. I have had a shoulder, back and heart surgery. I was borderline diabetic with a blood glucose level of 110 to 117 after waking in the morning. Everything changed in June of 2019 when I arrived at Lifestyle Fitness in St. George Utah. Chad and Jen Bullen are the owners and were the reason I'm half the man I used to be. Honestly it was hard work for me especially because of my back pain. But I told myself and Jen who was constantly concerned about the pain I was in that I'm always in pain I might as well be in pain trying to get better. What they taught me has completely changed my life. My wife and I keep a photo journal of my road to fitness and we both are shocked at the difference. I wish I could convince others I know to do this but I guess we all have our light bulb moments. I have lost 50 pounds and still losing. I don't worry about the scales ups and downs and I have learned to trust what Jen calls the process. My blood sugar was 88 last week. I'm going to talk with my doc about stopping my blood pressure meds because its getting to low. My hats and shoes don't even fit anymore! I was a size 42 pants and know my 34's are getting loose! I've stayed several times at Red Mountain Spa, which is located not too far away, and enjoyed its facilities, food and staff demeanor much, much better. The good: Rooms!! Very large and comfortable. Lots of unusual amenities, such as a popcorn popper and popcorn, separate tea kettle and coffee maker, with a huge selection of teas and Starbucks beans and a coffee grinder, two TVs, a gas fireplace, a CD player and a selection of CDs, a jacuzzi bathroom tub, and really good bath products. There is a private patio, with two lounge chairs, a separate seating area by the beds, which are very comfy, and a large bathroom. The bad: Just about everything else. The food is very, very hit or miss. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that the cooking staff is trying to experiment with making food healthy and tasty, but a lot of the time the tasty part was missing. I'm typically a healthy eater, and am used to sometimes having fewer menu choices, but this menu was too regimented and there was not a lot of selection. The staff were friendly on the surface, but I felt like there was some underlying resentment or other weird feeling going on, because we felt slightly uncomfortable. There was essentially no concierge service, and no one wanted to help us book activities that required contacting an outside vendor. The exercise classes were hit or miss. One stretch instructor clearly didnt have any plan in place, because she kept stopping the class and saying to herself, hmm, what should I do next. Repeatedly breaking the rhythm like that was irritating. The facilities in general are rundown. And one of the major problems is that you share the facilities with the condo complex that is attached to the hotel grounds. There are a LOT of small children running around. And let me tell you, for a religious area, these kids had no manners or respect for their elders whatsoever. The indoor pool was a disaster. Parents were resentful and giving us dirty looks when they had to take their children out of the pool for the spa's 30 minute water aerobics class. Apparently, the condo residents are on notice that children arent allowed in the pool during the class, but they were rude toward us just the same. The location is kind of depressing. Again, located in the midst of a rundown condo complex. There are no hiking trails nearby, so unless you go on one of the regimented early morning hikes, you have to arrange separate car transportation to go hiking in Snow Canyon (unlike Red Mountain, which is located right there). All in all, if I could transplant the Green Valley guest rooms into the Red Mountain Spa location, that would be the perfect adventure spa. Barring that ability, I would not stay at Green Valley again. I would "suffer" through the more shabby guest rooms at Red Mountain because it is the far superior resort & spa.

Actually somewhat rude, harsh and simply appears he may not like his job, it is perceived only by interactions he may not like people in general. It it may be that he may not like being in the service industry... Coming in contact with him the second time, I wanted to think the first time he may have been having a bad day, perhaps excusable... Not so, same personality inadequacies as the first day remained the second day. Why do people place these types of personalities in place to handle resort living vacation enthusiast? Really such a tremendous bummer. Then establishments wonder why return rate is low, or why energetically they are not successful. Fascinating.
