i'm 35 years old and I have never gotten so many compliments on my skin. I started going to Kristen Fitzgerald who is a master aesthetician 4 months ago and between facials, eyebrow waxes, and IPL photo facials I have almost perfect skin. Kristen is absolutely amazing and she knows so much about skin and what exactly you need to get that even skin tone. I had so much sun damage And I was pregnant for the last few years so we did have to wait to do invasive treatments till just last month. I no longer have any acne, my skin is even brighter, and the sun spots are gone. She's a perfectionist so just let her do her thing and you will love the results. I was then sent to Toni who is a nurse (almost practitioner) to get Botox. I thought I would need 40 units but she didn't try to make money off of me, she used exactly what I needed in the places that needed it and no more than that. I walked out with 28 units. There was no extra Botox dripping down my face like some places I've gone to. She understood exactly what I wanted and even gave her input without making me feel shitty about myself. The extra touch was meeting the new manager Deidre who came to chat with me prior and after to make sure I was satisfied and happy. I paid over $220 for botox and it did not work, zero results. I had to go in twice because they wanted to see the muscle movement. Gay agreed that clearly there was way too much muscle movement after I had been injected with 22 units of botox. I should not be able to furrow my brow. But I still had major 11 lines. I asked for a refund but no refund was given. They offered me 11 more units of botox for free but still no results. It is not that I am resistant to botox I get botox done in california where the nurses and doctors know what they are doing and provide a great result. But at Amara it was a pure waste of money! They should refund me. They saw and agreed that it did not work. I will definitely not be going back. It was Jeanette who initially treated me. Which was the main waste of money. I could feel from the placement of the injection that she had not gone put it into the muscle. Gay seemed a lot more knowledgable. but still did not correct the problem read more

I was so disappointed with Amara Med Spa I didn't even stay to have my service. I am new to the area and had been looking for a place to have a touch-up fotofacial. I had certainly seen some strip mall places where it's on their list of services between brow waxing and gel nails, but I had a wonderful series of fotofacial, microderm, and mini-peel at a medical skin care clinic and spa backed by a plastic surgery practice, and that's the type of outfit I was looking for. It's more expensive, but worth every penny. I came across the web site for Amara, and reading through it believed this was exactly what I was looking for. I even checked the licensing of everyone mentioned on the site through the State of Utah. Satisfied, I called to inquire about the service and pricing. I was told they had a special for one each fotofacial and microderm. I'm in! She recited the usual nature of the procedure and I asked all the standard questions, and I looked forward to my appointment. I told my cousin about it and her reaction was less than enthused. She told me she won a free make-over there and was less than impressed with the person and the supposed make-over. Hmm... When I arrived I filled out the paperwork from the aesthetician who did not introduce herself, so I do not remember her name and waited about 15 minutes past my appointment time before she took me back. In the room I saw the sheet on the table had dribbles of gel on it. I thought the other girl who walked in there with me was the one who would change it, so I fidgeted putting down my purse to see. Nope. This other girl, who also did not introduce herself, said she was another aesthetician who was learning and would be observing. I had a newbie join me years ago, but I was not *told* that they *would* be observing, I was asked if I would mind. Just then, the first one returned and told me to hop up and lay back. Ew. As she started to recite the "we use gel and..." and seemed to be preparing to start, I stopped her and asked about numbing cream. She said that I would have had to BUY it separately and apply it in advance. Hold the phone! Was she serious? This is exactly why I didn't want the strip mall, storefront fotofacial. I seek out professional clinics and spas for their thorough approach to service. Not only didn't I have to BUY numbing cream separately before, the aesthetician applied it. You are paying these prices for them to take care of everything. I can't even imagine someone NOT using numbing cream as a matter of course for this service. Even whats-her-toes acknowledged it was painful, but said they don't use on first timers because you don't know how they will respond. Well, I know how they will respond--screaming! It feels like being snapped with a thick rubberband pulled from about two feet away. Besides, a skilled and experienced person knows which settings to use different skin types, etc. I was done. I was not going to do this. I was offered a reschedule after I bought the cream and I actually considered it. But during the short walk from the goopy sheet to the front desk as she went to fetch it, I was seriously trying to think of a reason to just blow off this rinky-dink establishment. This was like airlines charging baggage fees. Nickels and dimes. It's cheap and cheesy. Luckily, I found it. It wasn't nickels and dimes--it was another $40! I declined the purchase and said I have to think on it. While I look for a better, more professional place to get my fotofacial, I may find out this is just the cheap way Utah does it. But I will certainly listen for someone to offer complete information and all the options, and doesn't just try to put you on a dirty bed with an audience. Even after all that I felt bad about costing them their appointment time and considered--briefly--converting my appointment to microderm, but they just didn't deserve it. My wife stumbled upon Amara while searching our health insurance website. While my wife was very impressed with her experience with the Physician's Assistant, Gay Sleight, I must confess that I was a little skeptical because of the co-location with medical spa services. I could not have been more wrong! PA Sleight and the staff at Amara were highly professional, took the time with both my wife and I to address our separate issues, with very thorough and professional follow-up. Some of the issues she identified had never been suitably addressed by either mine or my wife's previous primary doctors. The entire staff at Amara has been very friendly and professional. No one has tried to sell us anything that we didn't ask for. We fully intend to have PA Sleight to address all of our primary medical needs. read more

It's a great feeling once I leave work in Vegas and head out to St George, UT. I've been to numerous places for Botox and for one or several reasons, I've never been completely satisfied until I started going to see Jeanette at Amara. Even when I walk into their Spa, I'm always greeted by a friendly face in addition to a beautiful ambiance, I'm totally relaxed. I know that no 2 faces are alike nor are we symmetrical, so Jeanette uses her expertise and makes the time to explain everything she's doing each time I'm there...she totally puts my mind at ease. And like most people, I'm on a budget, so I signed up for their Botox Treatment Plan. We came up with a treatment program just for me, so I'm saving money each month, very nice! WARNING!! Do not take a microblading course from BOSTON...she might be a nurse but has no credentials teaching. I had to take a course in Beverly Hills at an accredited school to learn proper techniques. She taught nothing. Just because they are teaching doesn't mean they know what they're doing...ask questions! A 2 day course is not enough time to learn. I went in to get dysport and the nurse talked me into botox (i am used to that) anyway, i told her i don't want it in my forhead because it causes droopy eyelids. Jeanette the anestician said "oh you will be pleased with my work just give it a shot." So I agreed reluctantly. I regret ever going there. then they upsold me on some stupid contract to pay each month towards botox. It was like being in a used car lot. Now I have skin folding over the top of my eyelids, I have to wait three months for it to wear off. DON'T DO IT, STICK WITH A MEDICAL DOCTOR. read more

My fiance was having certain issues with her cycle for years. Her previous doctors in Salt Lake City kept her hopping from different problems and treatments. Nothing seem to work. Then, in Jan of '15, we found the Amara MedSpa upon relocating to St. George. Gay Sleight was able to find the root cause of a lot of her problems and seemed very knowledgeable of how to treat the issues. For 3 months, seemed things were getting on track. In May while on assignment in Ogden, I get a emergency phone call that my fiance was transported to Dixie Regional for breathing issues. During my drive down, I received a call from the ICU needing my presence. My fiance had formed blood clots in her left left that had found their way to her chest. She wasn't expected to survive the night. The ICU doctor had copies of scripts and pill bottles of ALL current medications given. Upon arrival to the ICU, my fiance was very critical. Doctors were going through recovery methods with me. Both doctors informed me that the current medications and the doses should never have been scripted for her to take. Gay Sleight, you almost killed my love. For others who read this,,,, the treatments are great, but dbl check her scripts with your actual family MD. Ensure that yourself and loved ones are given the correct meds & doses. It's been 1 year since her trip to the ICU, thanks to Gay Sleight. New problems have been found, she's being treated by actual MDs to resolve the issues, correctly. read more

This place has the worst service ever and the worst Dr. ever. First off, every time I had to go in for a consultation I ended up waiting 1-1 1/2 hrs just to see someone. There is a couple of times I have needed to call to set up appointments and they never awnser their phones. This last time they wouldn't even let me see Gay Sleight the DR., I had to be seen by a medical assistant and than she said she would inform Gay Sleight of my situtiation. Gay Sleight over the phone in the background told her medical assistant to tell me that it was probably a homone imbalance and it would cost me 125.00 just to see me. This place gets you in the door and than tries to get as much money out of you as possible. They charge for everything! I highly recommend not going here. The customer service is ridiculous and they really don't care about their patients all they care about is the MONEY! read more

I was looking for a spa that would use my Care Credit for Botox. I have used Amara for 2 treatments now. My first visit was with Jannette. She fully explained the process and took my doubts away about any pain and what the results could be. Granted I'm Medicare age, but the treatments have definitely softened the deep creases in my forehead. For me, it has been worth the $ to feel better about my apperance. Next I will be working on the upper lip lines with a combination of Botox and filler. So far, I am pleased with Amara and have recommended Jannette to several ladies. read more
