They operate based on maximizing financial gain, manipulate, lie, belittle and dismiss the majority of their patients concerns as well as in my opinion, tragically, from others I've heard from outright abuse some of their more elderly patients based off of their lack of understanding rather than providing informed care or other suitable alternatives agreeable to both parties. I was being charged 30 dollar copays almost every visit despite having met my out of pocket maximum, which I have STILL never been reimbursed for. I was prescribed a non formulary drug called Belbuca at the lowest dose, which cost me over 100 dollars which I reluctantly paid for that was with the manufacturers discount applied. Dr. Muir had promised me that the turnaround on the prior authorization is usually approved with about a week. During my follow up appointment I not only discovered that a P.A. was never submitted forcing me to pay cash price for the next prescription because the clinic wanted me to play the middle man coordinating my care between the pharmacy, insurance company, the clinic again and the doctor. Once I had enough and suggested that "Why don't you guys do it since you're the ones that need it and are responsible for my treatment?" They finally agreed and yet still never submitted it or I'm sure manufactured some issue so that they can continue prescribing a wholly ineffective medication rather than engaging in something like step therapy with cheaper generics that have a proven track record, when taken responsibly of course, which is typically the recommended treatment protocol by and from the insurance company's handbook on guidelines for pain management before moving onto name brand newer treatments and medications such as Belbuca. Especially with no safeguards in place like at the very least properly making sure that the patients medication will be covered so they don't walk to the pharmacy and discover that it's one of the most expensive pain medications prescribed costing over a grand with the manufacturers own discount with the dose for that being under 1 mg of buprenorphine in general Not exactly promising in terms of relief compared to the proven cheaper generics or other treatments... That way patients don't experience the fear and anxiety as well as any symptoms of withdrawal because they literally cannot afford their medication and are forced and suggested to by the insurance company, the on call insurance company's nurse, the pharmacy, etc. If you're hoping to get in touch with an after hours MA or someone able to bridge the gap until the weekends over, unfortunately you have no choice but to leave a message and wait for what will hopefully be a timely response on Monday. which by then your withdrawal symptoms should hopefully have mostly been in remittance. Do not go here. This is a pain "management" clinic, they maintain, and "manage" rather than heal or treat people desperate for relief of their conditions when they are fully aware the treatments are out there and available. But a patient cured, is a patient lost as they say. If you are concerned about their so called "cutting edge" treatments and want to stay up to date on what they may try scamming you with in order to get as much money as they possibly can, please reach out to me and I'll be more than happy to help you find compensation for your experiences here. There are much better alternatives I can promise you. Even a Methadone clinic would provide better treatment than overpaying thousands here.

Within a few minutes we were taken back and met with Dr. Clements and his nurse. Also, both very professional and very respectful. He asked my wife about the debilitating pain she had been experiencing and offered a couple of options, one being a Cortisone injection into the lumbar spine where he believed the nerve root being pinched/irritated was. My wife had been in such debilitating pain, she couldn't eat, couldn't get a decent night's rest and wasn't her usual cheerful self. Within a short time she came out to the waiting room with that gorgeous smile I had been longing to see again for some time now. She tells me she could feel where the shot was placed, but the horrible, agonizing pain was gone. We went to lunch and she started crying and said she is so grateful for the excellent, compationate treatment she received from everyone who was involved in her care today. Todd Stirling promptly reduced my dosage by 12 pills a month because the PA's at Canyonlands were giving me a 30 day supply and allowing me to refill every 28 days. Even though there was a direct correlation to the amount of pain I was feeling and my blood pressure, It seemed to me that Todd Stirling was going to prescribe practically anything other than increasing the opioid dose. I was struggling with nerve pain when I was referred to him, and my life has been much worse since. I like the guy well enough, but it seems he's not willing to put himself in my shoes.
