On the day of our reservation, all of the parties for the designated seating time were shown to their tables; once everyone was seated (we were seated in the basement with a few other parties), each course was brought out in an orderly sequence. I will not comment too much on the details of the meal since the menu changes each day and is meant to be a surprise, but each dish was innovative and prepared with fresh ingredients. At a high level, our meal included a fruit appetizer, soup, fish, red meat, cheese, and dessert. One of my favorite parts of the experience was trying to guess the ingredients in each dish - some were quite difficult to guess because they were prepared in untraditional ways with the ingredients transformed beyond visual recognition (e.g., cantaloupe mousse). Each dish was very distinct from the next and provided a balance of flavors, textures, and temperatures. While I'd consider a couple of the dishes to be truly sublime, overall, the unique dining experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris.

I liked this and I had fun puzzling it out with my friends. We did not do a very good job! It was hard to guess the ingredients and I think they purposefully try to fool you a little. I have photos of each course but I don't remember all the details. We had 6 courses. There was a small starter of a bao bun; mine was markedly less filled than the others on the table, so the proportions were off and I felt shortchanged. Then we had a fish course, a course with savory ice cream and some bread (like cornbread), a mushroom "pate" course, a cheese course (one big slice of cheese), and dessert (ice cream and apricots?). I felt like everything (taste, texture, ingredient quality and variety) were good but not great, especially since they are making things easier on themselves by doing fixed menus. Staff tried to explain what all the dishes and ingredients were, and they did good but not great job. They spoke English but didn't always know the English words for specific ingredients. The ambiance was fine. We were at a long, narrow communal table on the first floor just next to the kitchen and the door. It was a little cold from people coming in and out and a little busy with all the staff moving around. It wasn't the most refined or relaxing atmosphere.

This place has that scrappy energy in the best possible way--servers switching effortlessly between languages, bartenders pulling double duty, and everyone working with heart and hustle. They got some strong American diner vibes with authentic french food and wine. We started with a bold and unique Chenin Sous Voile from Domaine Jousset--dry, nutty, and layered like a white port's sophisticated cousin. Highly recommend for anyone looking to drink something memorable. For mains: The flank steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, and full of flavor. Modest portion, but just right considering the quality. The lamb tourine was a standout--fall-apart tender, moist, and rich without being heavy. The sauce was made for mopping up with couscous, and paired beautifully with our carafe of Syrah. Everything was balanced, thoughtfully plated, and delicious without being flashy. Portions and prices were modest, which left room to explore the menu. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you're in Paris--not just visiting. Cozy, charming, and quietly brilliant.

BrEAThe is a vegan's dream…read more Nowadays Paris has many veggie places where you can grab a quick bite to eat and be on your way. What we need MORE of is fine dining that's not TOO posh nor TOO expensive. A place you can go with several friends (whether they're vegan or not,) and everyone has a great time... Enter: BrEAThe. Your new favorite Parisian spot. The decor is fabulously unique and colorful - the walls are like a modern lava lamp with pink and orange and blue - all the while still being chic and elegant. Fave dishes I've tried so far: - The spring roll is fresh and crunchy with mango and cabbage, - The spelt salad is healthy and exquisite, - The delectable and copious burger is ace, - And, last but not least, the frozen snickers bar is the BEST vegan dessert I've had in a LONG TIME. Insanely delicious. + No fear bringing your non-vegan friends here! As long as they order the burger (and an appetizer and a dessert,) they will be well-fed and happy. *On that note: the ONLY downside is that some of their main dishes are small -- their noodle soup and spelt salad could be a bit more substantial.* The staff is super friendly and nice, too, which isn't a given in Paris. When I broke their vintage wall lamp putting on my jacket, they were super nice about it, and when I came back a few days later they told me that they had fixed it and made it even more vintage than before. (Perhaps they were just trying to make me feel better, but it worked!) Highly recommend this place for a special lunch or dinner. (Can't wait to come back and try their Sunday brunch!)

When I asked why, she said, "They're crunchy." My eyes lit up. As a vegan I crave crunchy food because so much plant-based food is soft. Evian was right! This roll had texture. It was beautifully presented in eight pieces. Upon the first yummy bite it was apparent this was cooking at another level. The fry was perfectly light and clean. Each bite substantial. The taste memorable. I have never had a sushi roll like it and now I want to live inside the restaurant so I can have it forever. We also got five pieces of the yummy Seitan Crispy, which comes with a lovely Doenjang sauce, that is thick and flavorful. These unique, protein boosts are also cleanly fried, delectable and filling. Lastly, my husband got the small BBQ Donburi which was a bowl of rice, a flavorful bbq soy protein, and some mesclum. He loved it. We sat outside on the lovely side street and chatted with Evian who made our dinner a memorable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish I could bring it back to America. Even better, open up a branch in San Francisco!

This place was not only a hit with my kids but was fast, delicious, and healthy, as healthy Chinese food gets. The place is extremely clean, the food is great, and the service is fast and very friendly. When we walked in we were immediately seated. The staff were very friendly and didn't mind that we only spoke English. They immediately switched to English from French and conversed with us, no problem. Our food came out fresh and hot within minutes. The vegetable wok was large and very tasty. My kids had the gyoza and fried noodles with crispy chicken and ate every bite. They kept remarking the entire night that they were so full. For a family of four with four main courses, an appetizer, and four drinks, we paid €72. They have seating all throughout the restaurant. If it looks full from the entrance, still ask for a table because they have a very large rear seating area. I honestly want to taste all of Paris but this place was so good in both its food and service that it's hard not to keep going back. If you go, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy! P.S. my son loved the straws. They look like stalks of bamboo.

I always like to think that places that are packed means the food is good. Well... that wasn't the case, at least not for me. Firstly, the server was extremely rude, by his attitude alone you could tell he didn't want to be there. When I was deciding between two dishes I asked him which one he recommended he responded with "I don't know it's up to you" um what? I then said okay, what's your favorite dish? He said "I don't know, it could be good for you or it could be bad for you. It's up to you" ...Right, so how does this answer my question? Not only was he clueless but his tone was miserable. We then asked about beers, again he didn't know. I mean even if you don't know could you go ask? Or can you pretend like you have a clue? And no it's not that he didn't understand me, he spoke perfect English and understood everything I was saying, he definitely seemed American to me. The food was just alright, prices were average. I could have spent my money elsewhere with better service which I would have preferred. Still confused as to how it has 4 stars but I won't be back again.
