First time eating at an official dim sum eatery. I am impressed. For a chain, the quality of ingredients are balanced and tasty. Limited seating area but high turn over and available toilet. The staff are professional and prompt. You can order from kiosk or cashier for dine in and Togo orders. I recommend the pork soup dumplings and scallion pancake (better fresh or reheated via oven Togo orders). The scallion pancakes were crispy but might need a napkin to dab the oil off. The soup pork dumplings were divine. Add some chilli oil, vinegar, and soy sauce for a kick of umami. Also, open until 2am but always check hours. Affordable and quality food. I understand the hype from this chain.

I was excited to try this side store of the original Nan Xiang, but I was quite disappointed. I feel like there are a lot of stores like this, such as Vanessa Dumplings, where the main store is great but then the smaller stores they open up are just not up to par and this location is an example of that. We ordered at the kiosk before finding a place to sit down inside. - Nan Xiang Signature Pork Soup Dumplings - Although each dumpling was full of soup and made the initial bite very delightful, I found the skin of the dumpling to be way too thick. Also, when they served it to us, all the dumplings were stuck together so if one of the dumplings accidentally pulled on the other, all the soup would fall out. Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings - I'm honestly not sure if there's a difference in flavor between this version and the signature pork one. Again, the skin was a bit too thick. Crispy Pork Chop Rice Bowl - My favorite part of this whole meal was the broccoli, which still had a bit of crunch factor and garlic flavor. The pork itself was okay, as I thought there was more breading than meat. The rice-to-pork portion was also a bit too much on the rice side. Overall, I'm glad I had the chance to try it out; however, I'm not sure if I would return. Maybe just go to the Flushing location instead.

I've been to their Nan Xiang XLB store out in Flushing, which they now have steadily started expanding their main store and opened a lot of these express shops. The express shops are not as elegant as the XLB shops, but they do churn their orders a lot quicker and the food is just as good. The XLBs are essentially just as good, but they also have a lot of other food options, which are perfect to be ordered and taken on the go. Perfect for the students out here in Columbia.

Decently average, I enjoyed the meal and everything was alright. The scallion oil noodles and pancake tasted as expected, nothing very fancy but still a good meal after a busy day.

This is a solid quick fix if you are in the neighborhood and are jonesing for some dumplings. I got the pork soup dumplings, which were served quickly and efficiently in a disposable cardboard steamer. The filling and broth were very good and flavorful. And while the wrapping was a tad glutinous, it maintained its structural integrity. Thus, no broth was lost. Cheap, cheerful, and while not a destination, a good neighborhood dumpling place.

Two stars because their teas are absolutely amazing so you should definitely come and get those but the food itself I wasn't truly a fan of. We got some beef crispy noodles and got some soup dumplings and we didn't like the hard noodles at all (it was just like raw ramen) and the soup dumplings were okay but lacked flavor. Same for the veggie rolls, they lacked flavor but they weren't terrible. Bottom line: Their passion fruit tea I can have a million times so come for that but skip the food.

What a great addition to Columbia University's food scene! I love Nan Xiang for its casual atmosphere, fast service, and yummy food! The soup dumplings and their noodles are my favorites!

I love this new spot in the neighborhood! I tried three of their dumplings, the noodles from Combo A, and their iced soybean drink. Would definitely recommend trying their soup dumplings, their pork and chive dumplings, and their iced soybean milk! I personally found the beef dumplings to be a bit dry, and tasted more like Tibetan Momo dumplings. But this place is authentic and reminds me of the soup dumplings you can get in Flushing. Highly recommend!

The food was okay. The noodles are too soft. The drinks were amazing. The soup dumplings were OK. The cucumber salad was not it for me. But the winner was a scallion wrapped with beef. That was amazing. Also, the fried rice, the vegetable one was OK. The service was fast but expensive the ambience was basic.

Noodles are really tasty, but kind of bland without hot sauce or soy sauce. Also, way too oily! Other than that though, the staff is super duper friendly, and the vibes in the shop are great!

Food is delicious! We've already come here multiple times and the quality is consistent.

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,

It's also nicely decorated, which makes you feel like you're in China. It's definitely for a younger crowd with how loud this place gets. We had a huge party, so we ordered an array of dishes to share family style. Some of the most memorable dishes were the Mapo Tofu ($13.99), Hutaoli Roast Chicken ($43 for whole), Spicy Pot Potato ($19), Roasted Green Beans ($22), etc. All of the food is good, but definitely pricey. While the food also came out quickly, our drinks came out towards the end of our meal. It's a good spot for big parties as it never got too busy even on a Saturday night. They also have private rooms. The live music was fun, but also made it hard to have conversation.
