Sadly, our first try of the new Nami was a disappointment. The menu seems like they are trying to be everything to everyone or at least Japanese and Italian, which is very odd. I ordered spring rolls with spicy peanut sauce and out came fried egg rolls with hoisin sauce and a sweet chili sauce. ‍ We also ordered the Wahoo sashimi and Tuna Sashimi. Lunch at Nami did not disappoint! The service was thorough and friendly. The dishes we ordered were delicious. We started off with the ahi sashimi, which was melt in your mouth good. The sauce it had was also yummy. We tried the raw oysters and they were fresh and creamy, and came with some good horseradish. For our lunch entrees, I got the bento box and my fiancé got the skirt steak sandwich. Tempura had a perfect crunch, the chicken was juicy, rice was fluffy, and the salad was fresh. My fiancé was stoked on his sandwich, his steak was tender, the veggies were cooked perfectly, the aioli was good, the bread was great, and the fries were crispy and stayed that way throughout the duration of our lunch. Husband and I decided to visit this restaurant on 2/13. Made reservation, no wait time upon arrival. We found the restaurant to be clean, aesthetically pleasing (decorated with hanging faux greenery, big vases with pink faux flowers, white tablecloths and a small flower vase as centerpiece). Juan our server was professional, friendly, and gave great recommendations. Husband and I ordered the spicy crab sushi roll, Tika Masala Seabass, and Spicy vodka Rigatoni (added prawns). I was very impressed with how fresh everything tasted, and the amount of prawns on the plate. It was a nice surprise to see the tika masala sauce came on the side (I personally used it all). Everything was delicious, fresh, and we are definitely coming back. It was an added bonus that the bar area is separated from main dining room, and there are outside tables as well. I would give this a 0 star review if I could. To start- We had an 8:15 reservation and went to the bar upon arrival. There was zero acknowledgment from either bartender. Although we were seated on time, we waited about 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. No one introduced themselves until I stopped a passing waitress to ask who our server was. She returned to say she would be assisting us. From there, the delays continued. After waiting roughly 30 minutes, we had to ask about our appetizers. The raw oysters finally came out, but we again had to follow up on our second appetizer before it was brought to the table. Another 15-20 minutes passed before I had to ask about our starter soup. When our $50 steak entrée arrived, it was cold. This restaurant previously served Italian cuisine--which was consistently good--but since switching to Japanese fusion, the quality has dropped significantly. The sashimi and poke were dry, lacked flavor, and came with no sauces. The ambiance also didn't match the new concept; it still felt very Italian, and the live music didn't complement the dining experience. Overall, it was a disappointing and expensive dinner. We had a show to go to at the Golden State theatre and I wanted to treat my friend who got the tickets. After reading reviews, I knew it might be a 50/50 shot, but I'm glad we went here. I arrived way too early and was starving, and knowing my friend does not like anything spicy, and I rarely have a meal without something spicy, I ordered a spicy crab roll. It was not spicy at all, but when asked the waiter kindly brought me extra dried chile so I could dip it. Problem solved! For dinner, I had the coconut prawns and scallops and my friend had the prawn and mushroom pappardelle pasta which she loved! The coconut prawns had some sort of sweet white sauce on top, which kind of took away from the perfectly cooked coconut crunch, and tasty prawn which was really the star of the plate. The scallops were also cooked perfectly, and were served on a delicate brown but indiscernible sauce, the mixed veggies (Brussels, carrots, cauliflower) while overcooked and mushy were very tasty. The waiter was great, but was not supported well by bus staff and I had to ask for refills of tea three times, which I felt bad for, because there were only two waiters working the rather large dining room. The busser came by once and offered to fill my tea glass with water, but when I said it's tea, he said "oh" and walked to other tables to look to see who needed more water. So, all in all it was a good dining experience, I would order the same dish again, sans sauce or one of the other interesting dishes on the menu. The place as described by many others is very lively and decorated comfortably and lovely. This place could easily get me to a five star rating with tiny tweaks. I came here on Valentine's Day and the whole restaurant was an absolute mess. We had a reservation at 8pm and they sat us at 8.25pm. We ordered our food shortly after and our appetizer arrived finally at 9.20, and we waited for our entrees but they never came and it was 9.45 so we had to get up and leave. And the cut of fish for the ahi poke appetizer was not good, and came with only 4 chips. Would not recommend, the menu is also so conflicting. read more

I'm not usually one to write yelp reviews but our time at Nami on Saturday night was pretty disappointing. We had a 6pm reservation. We were greeted upon walking in and told the host about our reservation he brought us to our table and it was a high top by the bar. We were confused as it seemed like bar seating but the host said it was our table. It took about 10 minutes for us to get greeted by a server we placed our drink orders and a few appetizers. Drinks came out pretty quickly they weren't that great for how much they were. It took about 30 mins for our appetizers to come out when our server came back we placed our dinner orders. Since it was Valentine's Day and it was very busy we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but our dinner came out after 50 minutes and it wasn't even hot. I ordered the shrimp scampi and the noodles were still under cooked in the middle. My partner had the shrimp fried rice and it only had 3 pieces of shrimp in it. For how expensive our dinner was we expected more. I feel like this place has a lot of potential. I hope they can do better for the sake of others but we will not be returning. read more

My partner and I had a reservation for Valentine's day here. We were excited to try it as we knew they're a fairly new restaurant, however we were extremely disappointed. We understood it was a holiday and they were beyond busy, but it felt extremely disorganized and like there was a lack of communication. It started as soon as we checked in for our 7pm reservation, the lady checking us in told us we would have to wait an additional 20-30 minutes past our reservation time. After we were told this another couple also checked in for a 7pm reservation. After 5 minutes that couple was seated before us while we got ignored. After that couple got seated the seater looks at us and asked if we were waiting and then took us to our table. We were seated for about 15 minutes before our server came up, he never introduced himself, all he asked was if we wanted waters. We also had to ask for silverware as we were not given any. 10 minutes later he came back to take our order, we ordered an appetizer to share & each got the same pasta dish. It took about 30 minutes for our food to come out, our entrees came out before our appetizer, and although we ordered the same exact thing my partner's portion was significantly bigger than mine and had way more shrimp. I understand they were busy but for there to be that much of a difference between portion sizes was a bit ridiculous. Additionally, I asked for no bell peppers in my pasta while my partner wanted to keep them in his dish, but his was also served without bell peppers, despite our server clarifying that only 1 dish would have no bell peppers. By the time we finished our entree we assumed our server forgot to put in our appetizer since it had still not come out. We were honestly fine with it since we were unsatisfied at this point and just wanted to leave, however, after waiting another 20 minutes our appetizer finally comes out. We ordered the spicy tuna poke, and it honestly had no flavor, we think they forgot to add the spicy sauce. All throughout our meal our server never checked on us once. When he finally asked if we wanted refills on our water we just asked for the check so we could leave. We understand that they were busy and still finding their footing as they are new, however it is clear that they have some serious work to do. read more
