This Namco pools takes your money for pool and installation yet they won't return call to do the install. Nobody is there or knows what's going on. My mother in law said they didn't call before they delivered the pool yet the paperwork has her number. After three calls on her landline, and left messages each time. she then called back on her cell phone. They picked up and gave her the number for the installer. She called the installer. They have no order to install her pool. She has her permits. She told Namco that After getting them. They have her money, her contract yet they won't answer calls or do the installation. Service was horrible. Ordered a hot tub and was told 8 weeks. 12 weeks later no hot tub and no date when to expect it's arrival. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and cancel the order. Why is it all the other hot tub companies I looked at had 3-4-week lead times but Namco couldn't do it in 12 weeks?? Oh, and as a side note I bought a roll of plumber's tape from them and when I looked at my receipt it was $10 for something Home Depot sells for .98 cents!! Can you say price gouging?? read more

If I could give this company less than a 1 star we would m contradicted everything they said. Thank God we got the refund we did. They are a scam. We were told a certain timeline only to get a different when the contract company wanted to come out. I get they are different companies but they don't work together. And they don't help whatsoever. You have a question? Good luck getting an answer. And not for nothing but the permit process shouldn't be on the customer. The Worst customer service EVER. I brought my water in to be tested after explaining to the employee that it was green and that I'm a new pool owner so I'm still learning what to do. Not only did he scream at me, he scolded me, and spoke to me in such a condescending tone. He was more concerned with who told me how to treat my pool then he was with trying to help me fix the problem. He very sarcastically told me " I don't know how to help you. Right here it's telling me to have you drain your pool. It's the end of the season. I don't know why you did what you did. " (used algeicde then shocked my pool as 3 other people told me to do). I ended up leaving the store without any useful suggestions. This was the third chance I gave the store. Shame on me I will never be back. The first time, I purchased a ladder from another employee, not as rude but definitely lacking in knowledge and customer service. Spent less then 15 minutes in pool smoothing out wrinkles. 7 of those minutes installing skimmer and return hardware. Hit and run get the Namco payed us so who cares about the customer. Worse experience EVER!!! Bought pool 6/6/2020 received pool 7/15 and pool installed 7/16. Pool was leaking and work was done poorly!!!! When I reached out to Marc Kagan he wanted to send a $200 store credit! No, unsatisfactory!!! and did not have the decency to call and has not responded to my emails about the pool leaking or badly done job! If I could give a negative star I would!! If I could give 0 stars I would. One of the managers (Steve) said he was overwhelmed when I came in and asked me to come back the next day. Then I was told that the financing they promised was not for the hot tub I ordered but yet they have signs for all hot tubs. The manager said if I carried out a hot tub in stock and left with it THEN I could have financing. If I had it delivered then no. That is not what I was told when I put down a deposit. They lied about ordering hot tub as well. Horrible service. When I was there the first time, a man was so angry he screamed as he left that I should walk out and not deal with them. Terrible customer service. Placed an order for a piece of furniture which should've been delivered over 48 hours ago. Contacted the headquarters twice, where the "answering service" took my information down and reassured me I would get a call back the same day. Nobody called. I even sent out 2 emails on different occasions with no reply back. I even called 2 separate store locations and was on hold for over 10 minutes each time, nobody answered either call as well. I just got off of the phone with a representative from the store. I was looking to get a price on replacing a pump from a pool package that I bought from Namco three years ago. Customer Service reflected the uncertainty associated with lack of training. It took a long time on hold for her to find my account on their database. Every time I go there it is instantly accessed. I was then told what I already knew and prefaced to her when I called: type and model of my pool pump. She then told me that they don't seem to have any. Uh..o.k. I then asked what I should do. She said to try another competitor. I don't need anyone to tell me that. I think I know that. I asked if I could speak to a manager. He was "busy." I asked if she thought Namco would think it was the best solution for her to suggest I go to their competitors. She told me to keep in mind that they are under new ownership. O.K. new owners, it turns out that, go figure, Amazon has what I need, and its cheaper. Shocker! I'll be happy to buy all my chemicals, and yearly cartridge filters from your competitors! read more

This is an update to a previous review. Like many others, I ordered a pool early this Spring and still didn't receive it almost 2 months later. Salesperson said it would only take 2 weeks. After I ordered they immediately stopped answering their phones. My only recourse was to post negative reviews, file complaints with the BBB/Mass Attorneys General Office, and email their 29 year old CEO (Jim Martyniuk jmartyniuk@namcopool.com). Eventually they allowed me to cancel my order and offered a refund. They never issued the refund, so I filed a credit card dispute. Today, I get a call from the warehouse stating that my pool left the warehouse. This company sucks and is very disorganized. Order a pool anywhere else. read more

Absolutely one of the worst at customer service. I regret every minute of it. When the pool arrived there was no instructions and parts list. I called the springfield store and I was told to "google and watch some videos". 7 phone calls in with no response I had to put a stop payment on my credit card. That's when they finally returned my call. Now I am finding that they never shipped the solar cover reel. I am now up to 6 phone calls and a trip to the store (1 hr each way) and have no results. The Customer Support (Steven) is a bullshit artist and will put you on the wheel by telling you the person who sold you the pool is off and he will call you back the following day. IF and WHEN you bellow standard pool liner fails and no longer holds water, the CEO wont even call you back. Despite having all of the warranties AND having their installers build the pool, it WILL eventually fail because they strip the screws when they put them into the rails of your above ground pool. I never leave reviews, but after walking into the store today I felt I needed to. The woman at the back of the store with the long gray hair had probably the worst attitude of any sales person I've come across in the past 20 years. She was annoyed when I tried to explain I needed a new outside piece for my skimmer, for an above ground pool, since ice expanded and cracked it over the winter. When I asked if she had one, she went in the back to find one. I looked down some other aisles while waiting, and saw one on the shelf. When she came out she was exasperated that I had found one on a shelf... thereby wasting her time. I pointed out that she should have sent me over there in the first place, since she is the one that works there and might know where things are in the store that SHE works at. When I looked at the skimmer piece, I realized it would need an adapter to accept a 1 1/2" hose since it just had a 2" threaded opening. When I asked clerkzilla if she had such a piece, she pointed to a long row of bins and said, "maybe in there". Such helpfulness was so touching ... next time I'll order what I need from Amazon. read more

I cannot state more strongly how infuriating this process has been with Namco. We purchased our pool back in THE FALL of 2020 (Sept/Oct), with Jim T who did his job of sales fine enough. Namco was supposed to hold the pool until install was able to happen- and we'd be "first on the list for the spring". Permits with our city were applied for and it is three months since then (EIGHT MONTHS SINCE PURCHASE) and I have no pool installed. On top of that, the pool was delivered to our home and not NAMCO and I have had the pallets sitting in my garage for 2 months rendering that space useless while we wait for Bob the installer to make it worth his while financially to get the excavator down here. As described by other recent reviews we were told that since no one else is in the area, it's not worth it for him to get the guy down here yet, that the weather has been a problem, and that he doesn't have workers. We have reached out to Jim and to customer service via email and no response. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau to report for services paid for and not delivered. It is going to be the second week of June and we still have no pool. It is outrageous and I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT give your business to a place that cannot fulfill their promises on delivery and cannot subcontract out work for install but can certainly take your money for it and not respond. read more

I purchased a pool online, was told it would be delivered the week of July 7th, received a message that it is delayed and I would not receive it until between the 13th through the 17th. I called all week to confirm a time and have not gotten one call back. I left another message this am. They have taken my money and I cannot even get the courtesy of a call. My Parent's owned a pool, and shopped at Namco. My Wife's Parent's owned a pool, and shopped at Namco. Guess where I shop? Owning a Pool, is a lot like owning a boat. There always seems to be something that needs fixing, and your family gets to use it a lot more then you do. The good news is, Namco is usually able to help. They carry a lot of different liner's to chose from (Cause, guess what, kids jumping and playing in the pool will ruin a liner, to steal a line from a movie "Its Vinyl Baby!"). We have an obnoxious beaded liner, but they had one when an action figure went through mine. They closed for the season, but have since reopened under new ownership. I saw some familiar faces while shopping, which is good. They are now carrying Hayward, which is great cause they make the best stuff. They still do free water tests and have the best deal on chemicals, so knock on wood, the new Namco will be even better. Now if they can just get some Patio Sets in, my wife wants a patio to go with her pool (And I will have another thing to maintain and winterize!) read more

I wish I could write a review different than the others. I too have been plague by non-responsive and poor customer service. My pool was ordered over 2 months ago. The originally promised delivery date was moved almost immediately after purchase. Then the second delivery window came and went with no call or any effort to contact me. I was only informed of my third "guaranteed" delivery window after I called and spoke to a manager. The third delivery window was last week and I called in the middle of the week to be proactive, at this time I was told that the system shows that I should receive my pool and equipment by Friday though it was highly unlikely since the pool and ladder were not in stock. To add to the pain, the representative couldn't give me a new date and said that the suppliers are behind on delivery. I then proceeded to email the customer service representative that gave me my first delivery change, to share my experience and ask for more information or to escalate the issue with management. The response can be summarized in, they have no idea when their suppliers will deliver and they can offer me $100 store credit for my inconvenience. I work in an industry that deals with extremely complicated logistics and somehow a pool supplier cannot keep track of high dollar items and do not hold their suppliers accountable. I will never deal with NAMCO again. The only reason I haven't canceled is because my daughter loves pools more than anything and I don't not want to start this process over again. read more

Was called out of the blue by one of their associates, and was then asked to speak to my wife so that the associate could "harass her like she's been harassing them for 2 years." The thing is we moved into our house less than a year ago, and only made our first purchase from Namco a week ago. When i asked to speak to a manager the woman who called me said there was none available, so I asked for her information so that i could call back later and she hung up on me. I called back a minute later, the manager was there and couldn't provide me with any help or resolution. Really considering returning the equipment we bought and spending our money elsewhere. My husband and I decided to purchase a small above ground pool for our grandchildren to enjoy along with ourselves. We had never bought a pool and had a lot to learn. We initially had some issues with the installation according to our water delivery company. When we reached out to NAMCO they were prompt in getting back to us. The store manager, Jim, and the installer came and looked everything over. The installer made adjustments and we were told to come into the store for some complementary products. I ordered a pump and a pool cover from Namco, they charged me and never delivered the products. I emailed them 3 or 4 times with no response. I then called every number I could find, each time I had to give them my number and they said some one will call me back, no one ever called. I deiced to buy the pump somewhere else and get a refund. Well the store near my house will not refund me and when I call the customer service number, they will not refund me either. So I paid almost $500 for merchandise that they never sent me and they will not refund me either. On March 13th my husband and I purchased a pool at the Peabody, Ma store. We settled on a lower grade pool as we did not want to wait because we wanted to have the pool for the beginning of the summer. We spoke to Miguel and we were told it would be installed the first week of June. On May 14th because I had not heard from anyone I called the Namco Peabody-after several attempts to reach someone to no avail I contacted Eric at the Westbrook ME store. Eric was kind enough to put me in contact with your customer service. I talked to Caroline on May 14th and she said she would call me back with more information-There was no call back. Monday May 17th I placed another call to customer service in the morning at 11:28 am they still did not have any information-no install date they told me-They said they would call Melanie-I then called back in the afternoon at 3:02 and 4:22. At 4:22 I asked that they let me speak to Melanie to which they transferred me to a voicemail - not sure if it was Melanie as there was no name at the beginning as to who I was leaving the email for. On 5/18 I called again at 10:37 and this time I spoke with Karen-she was putting a call into Melanie to see where I was in the installation time and she would call me back. I did not receive a call back. On 5/19 I called again at 1:16 and spoke with Jay-at this point he informs me Melanie goes according to ticket numbers and there was nothing more he could do regarding that-my options at this point are waiting, find another installer or perhaps return it all. Terrible customer service. Ordered a pool in February and told we would have it by Mid May. We put a deposit of $950. We later PAID IN FULL bc we were told we had to do that in order for them to order the pool. They took our money at the beginning of March and told us they would call us for scheduled delivery and installation. A week went by I had to call them to nail down the dates. Another week went by and I called them and they told me the pool we wanted was on back order until July. That's fine just wanted my money back bc I'm not installing a pool in mid-summer. Fast forward to 2 weeks later still waiting for my almost $10,000 refund. I have called multiple times and drove down there with my credit card and waited for 20 mins for them to tell me they cannot refund at the store and I need to call customer service. I bought a pool from Namco over 15 years ago and have purchased other things from them. I had to replace the skimmer gasket and being a Proline part, I looked to them to identify a replacement when I gave them the Proline part number. They could not even cross their own part number to the OEM. I was told by Mark in customer service that he would research it and call me back. Two days went by with no call. When I called him and I was put on hold, it was obvious he was just then scurrying to get an answer. The best he could offer is to connect me to Jimmy at the Orange, CT store. He called ahead to verify his presence. When I was transferred, Zoie, answered in a quite disinterested tone, and took my number for his return call. A week later and nothing from Jimmy. I try to stay loyal when I find a good thing but this experience resulted in me having to do my own research then I took my business elsewhere. No more sales from me Namco! read more

Very poor customer service. Refused to deliver a patio set because it's in stock. Well, no delivery, no sale. Seems they just don't care.

This is the worst experience I've ever had buying any product and service. I bought a pool in May and it's July, just got installed last week. I had to call because the installer called once and told us it was too rainy and he'd call back. He never did. Namco's head of installation assured me they are good and they will be in touch. Eventually they did put up the pool but that is it. They contract out to installers who are really just constructing a pool and leaving. No one advised on the steps needed in the process, how to use the filter, etc. They promise "expert guidance" and we received none. The installers told me they didn't know how to use the filter and left. The store gave me conflicting information about how to put in the salt. Everything Namco told me to do about installation was wrong. When the pool was hooked up to electricity, the filter does not work. I called and was told to come in for a tutorial even though the installers were supposed to show us how to use it. It has been 2 months and I still don't have a working pool, my yard is torn apart, and all I was told was that he would "put a ticket in." I called his supervisor and have not received a call. Please, please just hire a small company that will take the time to do it right. Namco is clearly interested in money only. They advertise a service they don't provide and sell products they have no idea how to use. read more

We bought our pool in May 2013 and it crumbled on one side during the winter and they wouldn't honor their warranty. We had a pool from Galvin that lasted 16 years, no problems. We paid Namco $3,500 for the entire pool package and they told me that it would cost $5,500 for just the walls and liner to replace the broken wall and liner - terrible customer service! Allow me a first world problem rant. We need new filters in our hot tub, they are disintegrating. Our house came with this hot tub when we bought it and I have no paperwork or manuals. So I call Namco Pools the other day, where we buy our bromine tabs. The guy tells me they don't carry hot tub filters in stock this time of year, but if I bring the filter in, he can order it for me. So today I take them out and bring them to Namco. There is no one at the front desk or on the sales floor. So I find someone in the back. I tell him what I need and he goes "Oh we can't get hot tub filters this time of year. Come back in March." And I go "Oh, aren't hot tubs kind of a Wintertime thing?" And he's like "You can try Galvin Pools or Thermaspa down the road." So I go "Well, maybe Amazon. Can you look at the filter and tell me what model number I will need." And he goes "I wouldn't be able to tell. You'd need to know." To reiterate, I had the physical filter with me and he wouldn't even look at it or try to clue me in as to what model it is. HE WORKS AT A HOT TUB AND HOT TUB SUPPLY STORE!!!!!! When we need a new hot tub, we'll be sure to go to Galvin Pool or Thermaspa as he suggested. Have to vent and caution....on Saturday I called Namco Pools in Orange , CT. Phone rang for 12 minutes with no answer at 4:30 in the afternoon. Sunday I called at 9:15am. It rang for about 5 minutes until I hung up. I drove to the store. I had become aware that they now carried a line of pool chemicals, Pristine, that I use. I arrived at about 9:30 and asked for store manager. It turns out that he does the testing. After a short search, he announced he had no copper strips so he could not use the proprietary machine that does Pristine analysis. I then asked if they were having phone problems. He said no. So I quipped "so you just don't answer the phone?". He said not when it is busy. I laughed.....he said "would you like it if I stopped helping you to answer phone?". "of course not" I said. I left, never to return for several reasons. On my way out, I asked one of the 3 cashiers, who were doing absolutely nothing, if it had been busy from open to now. They said no. Very poor business practice to ignore customers on phone. Over past two days I have left several messages at the Namco Corporate headquarters requesting a return....totally ignored. First off,I bought a pool the MORADA..21ft. round. Summer 2015.fast forward to winter 2015. When I came home one day. The pool was empty.Had a huge tear on one side of the pool,liner,was ripped and on further inspection the install was responsible for the breach.I contacted NAMCO customer service and explained what happened.They said send pictures.So I did...Their response was it was caused by ice damage.We will give you $20 credit for a new liner and a crew we have to re install the liner and repair the wall.I said it was installed wrong!!!! Their response by lookin at the pictures it was ice damaged,we are trained on photos.So to make a long story short,me and my brother shored up one end by 5inches to make it level,bought a liner online,watched you tube videos on to replace a liner,and all done.So the pool is not bad it's the installers that don't know how to do it right!
