The food is good however they have a revolving door when it comes to their service staff. Also I found out that unless you pay cash tip, the waiting staff does not get paid any tips on credit card payments. One of the staff told me that I find that very annoying for me and probably that is the reason they find it hard to keep keep good wait staff. read more

The food is always so yummy. I ordered take out this last weekend and the smells from the bag were making my mouth water. I have been wanting to try this restaurant and was finally able to come here for lunch today. It wasn't crowded, I would imagine they are busier in the evenings. It was quick to get seated and get menu and drink order in. I wanted Samosa as appetizer but they are only available after 6 PM. I asked for a recommendation and was told Gobi 65 (fried cauliflower) which was very good. They have four different spice levels, I asked for medium since I hadn't been here before and that was just about right. The Gobi 65 was quite large and had plenty leftover to bring with me. Very good seasoning. I went with the classic Chicken Tikka Masala as the entree. It was good, came with plenty of rice. I would have liked a bit more chicken but there was plenty of sauce. I also ordered Garlic Butter Naan bread with the meal and they were fresh and tasty. I'm glad I went, lot's of more dishes to try out. This is the best Indian restaurant option in Denton for sure IMO. read more

We were the only table for a long time when they opened at 1130am. My brother and his wife ordered some tea that came in small to-go cups. The water was perfect, in plastic cups without ice - which is how I like it. I ordered tea as well, nicely spiced and with some cream. We put in appetizers for Chicken 65 and samosas (2 per order - so I asked for 2 orders). The Chicken 65 came out first, conveniently in a plastic to go container. We all got paper plates to divvy it out on. They'd asked for mild but it was pretty spicy and made my eyes water. I loved it. Very flavorful with Kadai leaves visible and delicious. Then we placed our lunch orders. We asked for chicken biryani, a very standard dish, and was informed it would take an hour for that to be prepared because they just opened... I thought that was odd, it's a popular dish so you'd think someone would come in early to make sure it was ready. So, my brother ordered the Special Chicken Curry, medium. His wife ordered Butter Chicken, mild, and I ordered Mutter Paneer, medium. The samosas hit the table soon afterwards. They are huge. We cut them in half but using plasticware, the knife had a wicked curve when it's task was completed. The samosas came with a mild, sweet, tamarind chutney and a mint Jalapeno, spicy, chutney. Very delicious for both. I preferred the mint because it was spicy. Our orders soon arrived, each came with a plastic cup of basmati rice. We shared it all family style. The bright orange curries were delicious! I piled some rice on my paper plate, spooned some curries around it. We'd ordered plain, garlic and bullet naan - and should have just ordered garlic. There were 6 pieces of naan per order. Very fresh, crunchy and homemade. The paneer was nicely done, very firm cubes of cheese in the curry sauce. The butter chicken was pretty standard and good. The Special chicken curry were bone in, so that was a little awkward eating around that with plasticware. Flavors were on point. Halfway into our visit, as people started coming in, they turned on some great Bollywood music. One of the TVs was on, also featuring Bollywood - and RRR which won an Oscar for best original song sparked a conversation about how fun it is to eat Indian food and watch Bollywood to get a little bit of the culture. The full menu is supposed to be available in a couple of weeks. I might come back to try the biryani. But, eating on paper plates with plasticware is unappealing. The experience leaves you wanting a little more and not having a common dish like biryani available during the peak lunch rush makes no sense to me. BUT. It's still worth a visit. You'll leave with enough leftovers for one more meal and the food is moderately priced. Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food. read more

I love Namaste. The food is fantastic. But that is where it ends. The A/C is not functional, the fact that the health department graded them as a "C" in April 2025 speaks volumes. With me lodging my complaint the girl working here decided to "mean mug" me whenever I turned my back to her according to the person I was there with. Also, I understand that the bathroom may not fall in the same realm of cleanliness that the dining room or kitchen do, but when you go into the bathroom and there is FECES in the urinal, that is a huge red flag. This was my last straw, I've given Namaste more than enough chances. Will not be coming back. read more

I had a chance to visit the soft launch of this brand new Indian restaurant right in the heart of Denton downtown, had a conversation with owner and got to know that they are planning to open a Bar as well very soon. I have tried chilli paneer it tastes great and also had tried their chicken biryani and salt was less as it's a soft launch can completely understand but will give it a other try next time. Stumbled upon this place one day going next door to Layalina's. I called in a to-go order for the Special Curry Chicken (mild) and the garlic naan. Upon pick up, the restaurant was busy and lively. The dining room smelled great and most tables were occupied. It was nice to see people enjoying themselves on a Sunday evening. I was greeted by a very nice young lady behind the counter and was taken care of quickly. The special chicken curry came with basmati rice. It was packaged nicely, rice and curry separated into two 8oz plastic containers. Generous portion size plenty for one, enough to share! The curry was a little on the spicy side for being "mild". We plan to give them another try, and I'll update my review after that. We were excited to try this place, and my review is 100% about the ambiance, as we never got to try the food. We went on a weekday evening, and the music was so loud that we couldn't think, let alone talk. We sat down, and someone eventually brought us tiny plastic water bottles, plasticware, and paper plates, but no menus. After another fifteen minutes, one of the employees started mopping the floor, layering strong chemical fumes over the too loud music. I started to feel ill, so we left before ordering (but we had been sitting there for what felt like an eternity). Please do better. read more

The last time that I had eaten here, the food was good but took a long time. This time, I called it in, and was told "25 minutes." Okay. I left fifteen minutes later to pick up my food, knowing it was about a 13 minute drive. 5 minutes into my drive I got a text that my order was ready. That's impressive. I got there and the order was packed up (well) and at the front desk. (Don't be late; they don't have heat lamps or anything.) The procedure to tip was odd- she had to print out the receipt for me to write it in, which she originally didn't need to do. Easier just to bring a little cash. I got the food home, and it was excellent. I got the Chicken Biryani. Next time I'll order it without bones. My wife got the Mutter Paneer. We also got the Gobi Manchurian ordered spicy. I got Bullet Naan, and Kashmiri Naan. The Chicken Biryani had three kinds of rice, and was very tasty, with a spicy brown sauce served on the side. The Mutter Paneer had a sauce that looked kind of like Butter Chicken sauce, but the paneer cheese was in balls in it, with white basmati rice on the side. The Gobi Manchurian was plentiful and tasty, but there was sadly not a bit of crisp left to the outside of the tasty cauliflower. We still happily ate it anyway, with the yogurt sauce. I had gotten the Bullet Naan before, and it is fire. It doesn't look like much but damn it's hot. Love it. Next time I will order it with garlic on it. The Kashmiri Naan was oddly kind of sweetly-spiced and at first I was put off by that... but was won over by the end. Different cultures do different spices, and that's what I'm here for. It's good. The portions were deceiving. They just don't look that big when you're unpacking the bag, but they were enormous. My wife and I are large people, and we each got two meals out of this. This was one of the better take-away experiences that I've had, even with the limp Gobi. When you consider the amount of food that you're getting, the prices are actually a bargain. Expect two normal people to easily make a filling meal of a single entrée and an appetizer with naan. No pictures; I was busy eating well. read more

This was a crushing disappointment. The service is terrible with barely intelligible waiters and long wait times. The food was hardly passable with an excessively spice over bearing a bland flavorless slurry. But perhaps worst of is the ambiance, the inside feels so hard and unfriendly and your food is served in plastic containers with plastic silverware, their tea is a non-refillable coffee cup of some dark liquid. If you eat here carry out or get delivery to avoid the depressing insides, do not order drinks and save the money, and please reconsider! This is a must try place for Indian food which I would definitely recommend to everyone. I am vegetarian and try to explore new flavors at restaurants. I tried the Chef's recommendation which is Jack fruit biryani and it did not disappoint me. The favor was well balanced and particularly jack fruit was cooked well. Next I tried the Gutti vankaya with roti and naans. The curry was delicious; especially the naans were well cooked. I ended my meal with mango lassi which I would say you must try. It was really awesome. The Service was good and we got good recommendations from the chef and we were happy with our choices. My problem is the chicken tikika was supposed to be white meat. When I told the waitress, she went and checked with the chef. She said it was dark because of the marinade. I'm not an idiot. I know what white and dark meat look and taste like. I have also eaten enough Indian food to know what color the marinade make it. Everyone else's food was just average. No iced tea. No bill. No receipts. Little things just add up. But the chicken issue did it for me. I'll go to Sangums or Delhi 6 next time. Service wasn't great, and they kept serving all the food to my husband even though he already had his food and my son and I hadn't received ours which we all thought was odd. The ambiance wasn't great either - very bare bones, little to no decor, unswept floors although they weren't busy. The food was okay but way too spicy for mild. My vegetable korma was too spicy to finish, and my husband said his butter chicken was rubbery. Samosas were also very spicy and served in a styrofoam to-go box with no chutney.
