Nearly perfect and heavenly. Needs tweaking…read more My Order was Mutton Briani, fish pocket? chicken bread roll? veggie crust roll? mutton crust rolls? orange ropelike sweets? sweet little white balls? sweet dark shell shaped balls? medium sweet golden balls? and a dark big round donut? The Mutton Brianni has a surprize in it, a piece of chicken right in it's center! The outer layer of the chicken was very dry and hard and not edible, but the inside was juicy tender and tasty... confusing lol they had also hidden a hard boiled egg in my rice lol and with all the little chunks of mutton in the rice, protein was not lacking lol And the amount of rice was more than enough for 2 people. This would have been great for a low income family since this was around 6-7$ only!? There was no veggies in the rice. It was yummy stillI, but I asked for spicy, and it wasn't super spicy how I like it, so next time more please :P The fish pocket thing was so good. That pastry shell was amazing, and the inside so yummy and spicy! The mutton crispy rolls were yummy but not spicy, sadly. The veggie crispy rolls were yummy and spicy, yay! The chicken bread roll was yummy and spicy, yay! The sweet white balls were filled with some sort of powder, and the outer layer was soft. I didn't like the taste at all. Bland. The darker shell like balls were better, but not the best. Moist on their outside, and crispy on the inside. Interesting texture, but the flavor was lacking. The medium golden balls were actually really good. Not overly sweet at all, and just sweet enough to be pleasant. Texture was not too wet or sticky. I've seen similar ones at indian buffets but i've always hated them because they always keep them in a pool of syrop which makes them too sweet and wet. Since this place kept them in a container and not in a pool of syrop, they didn't get oversaturated, so they were fantastic, and I can't believe I almost didn't buy them. They weren't amazing, but they weren't bad either, very preferable. The orange candylike strip things were not apetizing to me, but my company wanted them. I tried some, they weren't bad either, just tasted a little stale to me. Crispy and sweet, and hollow. Would have been great if they didn't taste stake. My bro said that usually places make them soggy so he hates them, but this place didn't do that so he was really happy with them :) Their "donuts" are shy, but fkn perfect! They're not donuts, they're a million times better! These should be flattered more! They're thick crispy crunch layer on their outside is soo yummy XD and that soft tender cake inside is so clean and delicious xp It's got very simple flavors, but it's just so perfect, I wish I had bought more xp well, next time! They need more organizing. Nothing is labelled well. This feels more like a local place, where people who already know what it is just buy. Staff very friendly, but we'd like to order more please lol I'd like to see what's spicy or just a little spicy so I'll know what I'm getting. They don't explain the desserts well, they just say it's "a sweet" lol which is why I say have it written down and just let customers read for themselves if they're not changing the menu everyday. Their brianni muton tasted decent, but had I known it would be like that, I would have paid more for them to add stuff to it or be happy enough if they gave me a smaller portion with a more balanced stuff inside, like veggies and potatos. Brianni just isn't the same to me without potatos and some kind of veggie, not just 3 diff meats hehe I'm not a body builder XD even chives or onion would have been something. Next time I go, gonna order differently, but deffinetely going again. Been there a few years ago, was a little different, more spicy then hehe. ORDER BY PHONE then pick up, because they cook to order, which is a good thing. We went live and it took them around 40 min to make of all our 3 dishes. The rolls were ready made in the front to pick from.

To die for, and too cheap...1$ each?! 3-4 is enough to fill up for lunch.

I'm living in Ottawa now, but every time I visit Montreal, I have to go to Jolee. The decor is nothing fancy, but the food is so delicious. There is a take out counter at the back of the restaurant and people are constantly coming in for take out. The Beef Rolls are amazing. Spicy beef and potato, rolled up and then deep fried. Yummy goodness! The Fish Cutlets are good too (fish and potato). My favourite dish is the Chicken Kottu Roti. The portion is huge and has lots of chicken, egg, onions and roti pieces. The Beef Biriyani is excellent too (lots of beef, cashews, and a boiled egg). I find that the dishes here are spicy. I like spicy, but I can only take a "medium spicy" here. I usually just order mild, which has plenty of bite. The prices are so awesome. The huge Chicken Kottu Roti is like only $7 and can easily feed two people. The Beef Rolls are less than $2 a piece (and they are bigger than usual egg rolls). Their desserts are by the weight and very reasonable in cost. I usually don't like Indian desserts because I find them too sweet, but I love the desserts at Jolee. I usually order a box to go and get a piece of everything. I have to admit that I don't know the names of any of the desserts or what is actually in them, but I know that they are colourful, pretty and delicious :) Writing about this place is making me miss it so much. If you haven't tried it yet, you should go, you won't regret it!

I wouldn't go out of the way for this place, but I'll definitely be reordering. The bad: The naan. I would be shocked if this was never frozen, and would have a heartbreak if someone actually made this from scratch in the restaurant as it comes across as grocery store frozen/microwaved naan... but not as good. The ok: The tandoori chicken, so bright and looking delicious; fell flat on flavor, but for the price I can't say it was bad as it fit the bill. Didn't like that their JustEat menu didn't include a bunch of the things that they deliver based on the pamphlet that came with my order, but I can also understand them trying to limit reorders with JustEat since they pinch a piece of the pie. The good: The lamb curry had a good taste to it, not spicy, but a well balanced kick of flavor. Overall I overpaid for what I got, but only by a little bit and because I'm frugal. Moving forward I know what more to order to get a better bang for my buck. Authentic? Not really. Based on the area I can understand that they might have been forced to Westernize their dishes, but would have been better if it were traditional. When the naan isn't even made on site you're unlikely to get much else thats made with love.
