Of all the food outlets in Euston station, Nam Po has to be my favourite!
They're open until around 10pm every day, serving a variety of far-eastern cuisine. There's Sushi/Maki/Sashimi in the chiller cabinet. Hot noodles, rice/curry dishes, steamed buns, and katsu all available from the hot plates in classic takeout cartons. The Sinagpore chicken noodles (with extra sweet-chilli sauce) is a particular favourite, and the Lamb Massaman curry and the Malay Vegetable curry. But watch out for the paper on the bottom of the steamed buns! They also do various flavours of noodle soup.
The quality of the food is quite good, for takeout at this price. Always hot, filling and full of flavour, yet not too spicy. The noodles are pretty good quality, although the sauce in some of the curries can be a little on the greasy side... I can't comment on the sweet and sour as I've never tried it.
There is a decent selection of drinks available with both alcoholic and soft drinks. Deserts are a bit of an after thought with only chocolate / fruit biscuit finger snacks and pop-corn available.
Prices are very affordable for good-sized individual portions, and they are part of Euston's "BITE" card scheme which gives a healthy discount to members (free).
If you're hungry and in a hurry, or have time to kill while waiting for a train and want something hot and filling, this is for you! read more
