1 Star -- Declining Quality, Misleading Charges, Damaged Natural Nails and Greedy Practices I went to Naliq Nail Bar (South Braeswood) on 10/04/25 for a refill and pedicure and paid $200.60 total ($170 before tip). This was my second visit and it will be my last. The first time I came, I actually left a 5-star review because my nails looked great at first. But even then, I had concerns I chose to overlook. The acrylic felt cheap and low quality compared to what I normally wear. I typically use CND Warm Pink, but instead of a true nude acrylic, they used clear acrylic that turned purple with the monomer and then painted gel on top to make it appear nude. The pedicure polish was also applied poorly and had to be redone multiple times, and they even charged me for "length" when my nails were already short. This time, those red flags became full blown problems. I asked for the same pink nude base and pointy shape as before, but the tech completely changed both without asking. My nails are now rounded, the base color is milky and uneven, and the overlay is thick and heavy. The receipt lists special shape, cat eye, French, and chrome, but charging $15 each for both cat eye and French doesn't make sense when the cat eye polish was only applied to half the nail tips. I also requested a cut down, but no length was removed. The tech used a hand file instead of a drill, then filed under my natural nails, thinning them so badly that when I remove this set, they may not even be strong enough for another overlay. The 3D gold chrome design was also layered incorrectly, leaving doubled uneven lines instead of the clean raised look from my inspo photo. For $170 before tip, I expected professional technique and care. Instead, I left with weakened nails, the wrong color and shape, and an inflated bill. I've attached photos and my receipt so others can see what this salon considers "premium" service. I tried giving them grace after my first visit, but this confirmed what I suspected: cheap products, inconsistent techniques, and inflated pricing. Never again. Let's call it what it is, $110 for a refill felt like punishment for being 15 minutes late. If time was really an issue, I should have been offered a reschedule, not rushed work. I was charged $5 extra for a "special shape" after clearly asking for pointy nails and showing a photo, yet still ended up with rounded, grandma shaped nails. And I could have let that slide if the art had been immaculate, but it wasn't. The gold chrome 3D design looks nothing like my inspo photo. You can't blame lateness to justify poor quality and overcharging for a result that doesn't even match what was requested. Make it make sense. Then I paid $55 for my pedicure, and they still added a $5 gel removal charge even though I didn't have them paint my toes. Regular polish was included, but I declined it because of a small green spot on my toe. So why charge for removing gel when no polish was applied? We should have been even. That just shows how greedy this salon is, nickel and diming clients on top of inflated prices, then still expecting a tip. read more

Went to Naliq for my first appointment with them today. They just opened on August 2nd and I hope they get ALL the business. The facility is so clean! The pedicure chairs are fabulous. The chairs even have a wireless charger. I got the seasonal Pumpkin Pie pedicure and it was heavenly. I saw Justin for my nails and they turned out incredible! The customer service here is the bare minimum. It doesn't matter how often you frequent their shop. I've been maybe five times over the past two months. The quality of their work is fine. The nails aren't the issue. It's the cost and the customer service, the first two times we visited I got decent customer service. I was offered soda and chips , they serviced me that was great. The third time we visited for my mom's nails they were so short and uninterested. They find a way to charge you for ANYTHING! My mom got super long nails and when she came back to refill them they tried to charge her for length she ALL READY paid for when she got the full set. The refill adds onto the base of the nail, so I don't see why they're charging for the old acrylic....and can you believe it there's also a charge to trim them down. The last two times I went I wasn't offered a drink like the people around me were which is something I'm expecting if I'm paying you 55 dollars for a basic,no nothing special polish change. The quality of the nails they do are great but if you're looking for a positive experience this place isn't for you read more

I came here about 2 weeks ago for an acrylic removal & mani. It's a good looking place, not sure if it's new. I was short on time and they were able to book me in. It wasn't busy and not too many staff there but they were courteous and gave me a reasonable price. They also provided a 10% off new customer discount at checkout. Beautiful place and a beautiful experience. You can tell they highly value quality and customer service. Everyone there was very friendly. I was impressed with every part of my visit, from the friendly greeting as I walked in, to the careful pedicure I enjoyed, to the ginger tea! Though my appointment was later and went past closing, they didn't rush me out or compromise on the quality. My technician was great, and his massage was so relaxing and therapeutic as well. I was prepared to wait and didn't mind at all since I understand that new launches will have some wait time. So if you do experience some wait time, be kind! I usually get builder gel and Nick did an exceptional job. I've been to many salons around Houston, a lot of the popular ones on social media who advertise builder and Russian nails. Nick's technique was by far the best I've ever had. While other places do thick builder gel, Nick's was so thin and natural looking. It looked like I had polish on my nails! I was so impressed. He did share that as nails get longer the gel would thicken a bit. I showed him an inspo pic of what I wanted and he found the exact color and executed better than what I showed him. He expressed how important quality was to him. He shared his story and experience in this field which was very genuine to hear. He went out of the way to check in on EVERY client. As soon as he was done with my nails , this man started working on someone's pedicure who walked in right before closing time. Most would've turned them away. Saw this salon recently opened and decided to give it a shot because of their reasonable pricing for builder gel, unlike many other salons charging $80+. The salon is so spacious, clean, and had a luxe feel. Coffee, sodas, wine complimentary and served in nice glassware. I was immediately greeted with excellent service and care and was checked on multiple times throughout my manicure. Queen paid amazing attention and close detail while doing my builder gel which I appreciated as it is a process most techs don't have the patience for. They honor their pricing as listed online, and even hand you an itemized quote before beginning your service. No room for 'surprise' charges or add ons. I keep it simple, but they offer all the trendy finished and designs as well. This salon has amazing customer service and I was pleasantly surprised.
