From the moment the appointment started, he was dismissive, rushed, and showed no patience or empathy toward my child. I explained her condition in detail, including the fact that her previous specialist had moved and that we were advised to monitor symptoms like increased pain or flashes of light. Instead of acknowledging anything I said, he cut me off and told me there was "nothing we can do" and that she would ''just have to live with the pain." When I questioned how a parent is supposed to accept that, he responded defensively, asking, "Well what do you recommend we do then? What have doctors been able to do for her all these years?" His tone was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. He then said he wasn't the right doctor for her and handed me a list of other doctors. Even as we were putting our jackets on, he stood over us holding the clipboard in my face, demanding that I take it to the front desk. No patience, no basic courtesy. My daughter left the office crying and asked why a doctor would tell her she should live with pain, something no child should ever hear from a medical professional. To make matters worse, when I went to check out and asked the front desk how I could file a complaint, I was told that they didn't have a phone number or email for that!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not recommend him, especially for pediatric care. A doctor should have compassion, patience, and respect, none of which we experienced here.

He did my cataract surgery, my records included a Femto laser, supposedly due to the need for softening My cataract, this cost me thousands, told by a Columbia-Presbyterian surgeon not needed. In addition all 11 patients who went for cataract surgery along with me had this procedure, not covered by insurance. Not acceptable. In addition, I need YAG laser soon after my surgery, so far, tried to make an appointment, which has to be done through the Yonkers office. No one picks up or calls back. It is almost a week so far. Time to move on to another practice. SightMD is certainly unprofessional and unresponsive. Think three times before going here. Doctors at Columbia-Presbyterian is an alternative. I am a professional with a 40 year experience with my doctor and i am being pushed to make a change.

She has great bed side manners, very talkative, personable and listens to his patients concerns. He also pays very close attention to details in his patients health. My whole family now sees Dr Chumaceiro and I couldn't be happier with our choice.
