I was in dire need of a pedicure since my feet and toes were starting to look gross. Since I'm new to the Prescott Valley area and didn't know anyone I turned to yelp for some ideas of where to go. I decided to checkout this place out since it had a pretty good rating. The reviews I would say are pretty accurate. This place is similar to most places I have gone to in the past for help with my nails. The staff was friendly and nice. It was not busy at all when I went in and I didn't need an appointment. I was seated fairly quickly and was asked to pick out my colors. I got a gel pedicure on this visit. The prices were about average. The place was clean and their tools appeared cleaned and sanitized. If I could give no star, I would do that. Was there Friday afternoon 6/3 for a gel mani/pedi. Worst mani ever and I suspect the pedi will follow suit. Have never had nails split or polish chip and peel like I did there. Offered me a cold drink. I asked for water. Tried pushing sofa on me. I politely declined and asked for water. I was given a dirty bottle with the cap screwed on super tight to make me think it was a fresh bottle. It was tap water. I did take one sip which is when I realized what happened. I'm in town for a short visit from Florida. Chose this location based on the 5 star reviews. Wish I could bring them back with me to the sunshine state! For $33 - the silver package consists of: soak, usual cleaning, callous remover, scrub, rinse, massage. Clarification of the foot massage: apparently there are bones in your feet that get sore. I've NEVER experienced that detail before. Then you get a paraffin wax, massage, hot rocks and then finish with hot towels. Amazing!!!! Agree with 5 out of 5. Absolutely amazing!!!! They take such great care of you and my nails have lasted longer than any other salon. That's really saying something because I can be rough on my nails. I am so happy I went here but even better... So did my MOM! And let me tell you. She is picky picky about her nail salons! I have had great pedis before but this one was fabulous and I had such a wonderful time I had to share my experience. Service was at a great pace but not rushed, and I love that. Excellent touch. Kind and good spirited technicians made for a delightful time that was very much appreciated. Mom and I had so much fun here. I believe, the last couple time and she's also done a very nice job. I've never used Kevin,but he is also always very busy. Love love this place. I have been going to Nail Spa Excel for 5 years. Kevin and Anna are amazing and do the best work. Everytime I stop in I'm greeted with a friendly hello and treated like family. It's a very clean and relaxed environment. They have free refreshments to drink while you wait And they always do exactly what I ask for when it comes to my nails. 10/10 I would recommend to anyone. Truly the strangest experience I've had getting my nails done. I was a walk in, so I was fit in quickly. That's where the positive experience ended. The drill bit that was used on me was too rough for my real nails. She wanted to get the dip off as soon as possible instead of the right way. They didn't have dip options on nails, after she rushed me though the entire process and started my neighbors nails. she was extremely rough with (and made her bleed all over the place, all over the bowl she was using and towels) back to me: the tech unscrewed six different dips for me to choose instead of having them on finger nails....so I had to choose not knowing how it would really look. I'm not happy with the color choice (as when they're in the pot they're not the finished product) the manicure was extremely sloppy (but I was stressed about the whole process) and I'm very frustrated. There are lines and bubbles in it. The last couple of minutes she started on my neighbor again, and didn't tell me she was done with me (my nails didn't look done, they look sloppy) and I was told offhand that she was done and it was $50 cash only. That's $10 more than I've ever paid. Truly the worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done. Very confused about all of the positive reviews considering my neighbors were bleeding all over the place from the techs carelessness, my nails look like crap, they were rude, and the price of the gel manicure. It seems as if they change their prices depending on who's in their chair. Very arbitrary and expensive for a rough experience. read more

I had my second visit here today. First pedi appointment was with Kevin. He was very good, I have very sensitive feet and problem nails. He was very gentle. Today, even though I made the return appointment with a Kevin and he was there, another tech did my pedi. She was pretty rough with the sander on the nails and the trim. But I was able to tough it out. The most annoying thing about this place is the freaking tv. They were playing some movie that had pretty foul language and partial nudity. A comedy but even so I felt it's inappropriate for mixed company. I don't need to hear the "f" word while I'm getting a pedi in public. And it's way too loud. The place seems clean but a cricket walked by my chair, no one noticed. Shortly after that, he was serenading us and competing with the tv volume. In the beginning the technician didn't ask what level of service I wanted. I preferred the Silver which was what I had before, but this woman never asked. So I didn't get the extended foot and leg massage. Bummer. Another problem is whatever material these places use for gel manicure, the odor of that product can be very overwhelming. Most places I think have good ventilation to get rid of the smell, it may be faint but not like here. The last time, I was waiting till my friend got her nails done, while my pedi was finished. I had to go wait in the car. This time was not so much of a problem but there were only a few mani customers. The end result turned out fine, it just wasn't a relaxing or comfortable experience. I don't live in this area, I was visiting a friend while out of my home state. Thankfully I don't have to come back. I wish I could give more stars, and probably would have if I had Kevin again. I don't get how people had a 5 star experience. I got a pedicure and didn't feel close to a five star. I got the golden package that felt more like a silver package. I didn't get the good scrub of my callous and trimming of my cuticles. And the gel application was not right to the point where you touch it and it would leave a mark. Young lady who did mines was a little rude. She got mad that i was resting my feet wrong on the platform. Seriously. Literally felt like i could've done it myself. I just didn't feel pampered. Walked out feeling unsatisfied. Would never go back especially when you only have family members working. read more

I went in for acrylic fills and gel polish, was in and out in 45 minutes. They're beautiful and holding up well so far (it's been 9 days). Price was comparable to every place else in town. It isn't a sparkly new high tech looking place but looks and smells clean and I liked the comfortable atmosphere. I went there today for a pedicure. The salon was very relaxing. The young married couple who own it are very nice. I payed $22 for a pedicure which included a warm leg massage , hot stone massage and warm towel wrapped on my legs. It was very relaxing and I didn't feel rushed at all. I will definitely be going back. They offer a variety of other services as well such as manicures and body waxing. Everything is reasonably priced. However I felt right at home thanks to their professionalism & hospitality, great experience after a long week. Choose the full treatment off the spa menu & was worth every penny. The best nail salon I've been to, period! Service was fast and friendly with no wait, and they did a fantastic job on my pedicure. Plus, it LASTED! More than a month before it showed any age at all. In contrast, I went as part of a bridal party to another salon in Prescott and the pedicure I received there for three times as much started flaking THE NEXT DAY. Also, I have gotten my face waxed several times and this was the most time anyone has spent on a full facial wax. The whole staff is very pleasant and the prices are very reasonable. Such a wonderful place! My mom and I decided to have a girls day and wanted to get our nails done. We live in Prescott, and we were originally looking for something closer to us, however all of those nail salons were booked up for the day. Needless to say, we are both so happy that they were all booked cause I came across this hidden gem and had a great experiece. Amazing massage with the pedicure, hot stone, warm towels, sucar scrub..both ladies really took their time and care with giving us exceptional service! The reviews were completely misleading! This place is horrible!!! They were running around completely overwhelmed with only 3 employees and 6 of us customers and trying to take care of all of us at the same time. So the service was fast and very sloppy. They didn't use sterilized tools or even sterilize the pedi tubs. They just wiped it out with a dirty sponge and no spray or anything. I had a gel fill done and a pedi and they did a terrible job. I had to go to another place the next day to get it done all over again. I can't believe people want to go to that place. read more

Unprofessional, unorganized, inconsistent, unclean. While this salon offers some impressive nail art (on a good day), it is dirty & dusty, entrance door is propped open even on the coldest day & half of their advertised products are either out of stock or dried up. First visit my nails turned out great. 2nd visit, Anna & I agreed on a design & price from a sample board. She proceeded to do something completely opposite of what I clearly requested & became angry with me All said & done my nails turned out absolutely horrible. She rudely & half hazardly finished leaving me with an embarrassing lumpy mess & then just got up & disappeared. Her husband had to tell me she was finished & told me my nails looked ok.
