I guess there are new owners now because yesterday I went to get a regular gel acrylic manicure , and the lady who worked there was so beyond rude to me. They would pull me forward a bit violently to get me to stop moving, and they charged 65 damn dollars. you can get an acrylic gel manicure for 40-45 somehwere else. For over 12 years, I have been going to this salon with no issues - always feeling like I was going to visit my second family. The family that used to own it was funny, loved listening to good music, and cared so much about their shop and customers. I was nervous when I heard they had made the difficult decision to sell the shop but supported their decision as to what's best for their family. The first visit under new ownership was the polar opposite how I normally felt going in and I feel everyone should know about it. The work stations had been moved around to be much more closed off, instead of an open everyone-can-talk-to-everyone kind of feel. There was very low energy - not that I expected a welcome parade by any means - but the fun-loving atmosphere was definitely gone. I felt very unwelcome by the new staff members I interacted with. As soon as I told the new owner I had an appointment already scheduled he said nothing and turned away from me - no offer to have a seat or if I need to look at colors or anything All the new staff members actively avoided me after that. They clearly have no interest in keeping the personal family-like business that the previous owners has built and that's unfortunate. I hope to find out where the previous owner is taking her family. I'd much rather follow them then stay around and be treated so indifferently by the new owners. read more

Non-sterile instruments! I came for a pedicure and gel manicure. Pedicure was fine, not much effort was used to remove dead skin on my feet but it was fine. Manicure was a big nope. Pulled out instruments from a drawer with other people's skin on it. I should've said no thank you and left but I didn't. He soaked my hands for about 5 seconds before saying there was no cuticle to remove. Gel application was messy, very rough and not relaxing at all. Didn't give a massage at the end of the service and still charged for a manicure although cuticles weren't removed and massage not given. Was offended when I didn't want to pay for the manicure fee. If I could give this place a negative star, I would. I've been going there for years. Lon always did my nails. This guy who took over is the biggest jackass. He nickel and dimes every single thing. I go to get my nails filled, he tells me would rather just take them all off and start again. I said, no, I want them filled so he proceeds to do a really crappy job. I finally just got up and left. The last three times that I've gone there, I said I'll never go there again this time for sure. be aware and make sure you look at their nail menu and check the pricing because he tries to change the prices, too. read more

Undecided after my first visit. Moving to the area from CO, it's always tricky finding "your person" whether it comes to hair, massage or nails. Super easy location- a 5 min drive from my house and a Starbucks is right there. Salon is clean which is a priority. I booked an appt the day prior so they were on time ready for me. The gentleman who did my pedi was a bit awkward and wasn't the most skilled. Multiple times I had to stop him from delivering painful filing or cuticle nipping... ouch. He threw his tools into my water while I was still soaking. Not liking that at all. The paint job was pretty sloppy. I had to touch it up when I got home. The foot massage was weak. Not impressed. The tech next to mine looked like she knew her stuff. Was engaging to her client, seemed very skilled and I was jealous of the foot massage her client was getting. My guy did both of my feet at the same time and it was more like jiggle here jiggle there. Within 2 min He was finished but the lucky gal next to me was still getting her first foot done!!! I was moved to the manicure table and was trying to figure out how I could politely request another person to do it!! Thankfully a sweet gal was the tech and she did a pretty nice job. Nothing painful and Polish was nicely applied. She was good. The staff likes to talk in Vietnamese too much.. they ask you a question but then talk in their language to one another and they all start laughing... hmmmm?!? What's up?!? You talking smack about me or just casually chatting about the weather? Not the easiest of environments with that weirdness. All in all it was ok. Not sure if it's my person or my place but maybe that one tech would rock it next time. Being new to St Augustine, I will keeping looking around before I head back in. 58 bucks for many/pedi. Southern people are hard core when it comes to getting their nails done. Dorian and I came here for a little Sunday morning beautification, and loved every minute of it. They did a great job on our fingers and toes, and we got the local gossip as well. It's a really family run business, and the kids (probably all between 18-23) work as certified nail techs. They were clearly enjoying it, and took pride in their work. It was a really nice environment, and there was family getting their toes done, including a father and a seven year old girl, who decided her dad needed green toes. He has been doing my nails for many years now and I have never had any broken nails or fungus issues when he has done my nails. I see him every three weeks and my nails have always been PERFECT!! I also get many compliments a day on his work. I highly recommend him to all my girls that I work with as well as customers who inquire about who does my nails. He keeps his salon very clean and uses only the best products. I have always told Steven that when he stops doing nails that will be the day I stop getting them done. He IS that GOOD!! Best pedicure. Ever. I was visiting family so my sister in law and I decided to have some girl time together and get our toes done. It wasn't exactly a "spa pedicure" (I don't even remember the massage and there weren't any frills) but my toes have never looked better. We went to the beach the next day, I wore sandals my whole trip and did lots of walking and even with all of that plus it's now been almost two weeks since I was here, my toes still look perfect! They were welcoming, gave the best advice when it came to what would be best for your nails and not push you to get something just to spend more. I have been once ever since they got the new owners and it was horrible. They were rude, pushed me to get something more expensive then what I wanted, snapped at me when I asked them to reshape my nails, gave me attitude the whole time. Normally, I don't have my nails done while on vacation, but the timing was such that I needed a fill. Popped in, they were busy so I made an appointment for later in the day. I went back and was promptly seated. My tech was personable and we had a nice chat while he worked on me. He did an excellent job, very contentious. The charge was $38 for fill and shellac. It's $35 at home, so I considered this reasonable. Everyone in the salon seemed pleasant, I chatted with the girl next to me, all the clients appeared to be enjoying their services. Rushed through my pedicure, massaged cream into calves very hard, not pleasant at all. Took start to finish 20 min. and raised the price now to $30.00. Doing 3 people he makes $90.00 an hour. I took my grandmother here to get her nails done and it cost only $12 and they were really nice! The space where this is located is not luxurious, but there is plenty of parking in the parking lot and it's just so convenient and inexpensive, I could not give less than five stars. I will never recommend this salon. I recently made the trip to St. Augustine for my wedding. I am not a tourist, my family lives here, I just happen to live out of town. When I arrived into town I made an appointment for myself and my 2 bridesmaids to have our nails done for the wedding, it was not an issue to have 3 of us taken care of at the same time. When we arrived for our 11:30 appointment, they were seating a large party of walk in pedicures. I was told there would be a wait, and she told me to have a seat and she would check in with me in 10 minutes. We sat, and 15 minutes later she asked us if we were on a time crunch. I told her yes, this is why we made an appointment. She got frustrated with us and started yelling in another language when we asked how much longer it would be at 11:50, and at noon we walked out. First and foremost, when somebody makes an appointment, you either honor it or apologize for the inconvenience. Neither was done. I stressed the importance of these appointments when we made them because they were for a wedding. Not only was our appointment not honored, but the way it was handled was poor and very unprofessional. I will not be returning or recommending this salon, ever. read more
