If I could, I would give this place a negative 20 stars! Both Kathy and her daughter are so rude! I understand that for some people constructive criticism is not well received but these 2 are something else. I had been going there for a few years, and although the wait time has always been extremely crazy, the outcome was always good, so in my mind it was worth it. I was there to get my nails done for my graduation party, I showed Kathy what I wanted and she literally started going off on me because of the design I wanted. I even said that if it was too complicated I understood, but maybe they could do something similar. Kathy and some other guy continue to be rude, so I said it was fine. I wasn't going to get anything done. I had gone with my sister and she was getting her nails done, so I was waiting on her. As I sat there visibly upset, Kathy asked again if I was getting my nails done, I said no. When I got home I received an instagram message from Kathy's daughter going off on me because I was rude to her mom, when her mom was the one going off on me. She said that I don't understand her or her culture but that is just the way her mom talks because she has an accent; which to me makes no sense. Her daughter said I wasn't welcome anymore there. I replied to her message stating that it was fine I wouldn't want to support a business like theirs! read more

So where do I start, after spending $150 every two weeks here. I received a call today from Kathys/owner rude daughter, stating I would not be allowed back for services. I was unable to schedule an appointment and they don't want me to return. Simply because at times I give feedback on my service , but they consider that complaining. If I make an appointment, I'm still waiting 35 minutes later, if I speak up, I'm a problem. But if a white woman has a problem, they are extra nice and no problem ma'am is the response. So you get where, I'm going with this. There is definitely a lack of respect and professionalism for a certain group of people. Apparently you are not to have a voice and accept what they have to offer, rather you like it or not. Then they have a eyebrow tech she literally "traced and cut off my eyebrows" without my permission. Although I loved the outcome of the umbre-eyebrows, it was not explained to me how the procedure would go. So YES I was upset and I had the right to be. I had thick eyebrows before the procedure. I still didn't make a scene, I almost cried and said, why would you do that?? I called later and spoke-to Kathy and the eyebrow IVy. Ivy was nice and apologized, for not telling me she had to cut my eyebrows off first. Now, all of a sudden, I'm not wanted. Fine with me, it's a million other nail salons that can do same or better. I don't feel appreciated as a customer as I see from previous reviews, this is a pattern for this nail salon. If you have a voice they don't want you there. I spend my money, I have a right to say I don't like something. I have the right to address something I don't like, if you don't like that, your in the wrong business. They want you to take what they give and be quiet. If you say something you complain to much. Without customers your NOTHING!! Stop giving these people your money, they don't like or respect you!! Find somewhere else, to spend your money. Or make sure to say you LOVE everything, even if you don't!!! Poor, Poor, Poor Customer Service.... Regret spending a dime at this place. read more

WHY... are there not more reviews? Many, many more... Every time I go in here they're busy. There should be review after review stating how amazing they are. They may always be busy but they are so efficient with time. I never have to wait long. Customers should be singing their praises about their quality of service. My toes are always fabulous and never do they make me feel uncomfortable. I'm always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. The bathrooms are always clean AND they offer beverages. As I sit here going on 30 min now I was told I'd be checked in. The girl checking people in is currently getting a manicure while being rude and disturbed by everyone. At one point she said "I'm ready to fight everyone at this salon when someone asked her a question during her manicure". This is my third time attempting to get my nails done here and being completely ignored. Not only is this girl having her nails done while at work and ignoring patrons waiting, she's also taking up the time of a technician that could be doing paying customers nails. I understand this maybe happening once but again and again is unacceptable. read more

This was bad. If I could do a negative or no star I would. We finished up at 7pm. The place was busy being a Friday, no problem. When I got back to my house 3 1/2 hours later my feet looked gross!! Ashey, flakey, and the polish was not smooth. For a $25 charge + $5 tip I got what my feet would of looked like after a long drought!!! I hope I can post my time stamped pictures. I've had plenty of pedi's ( from this establishment as well ) and it would be at least a few days before looking haggered, NOT a few HOURS!! Where's the moisturizer ???? My sister and I were hearing nothing but how hungry and tired one of the "techs'" were! So did they skip a few steps?? Ok guys! I gave this place another chance and I'm glad I did! Only bad thing to say this time was I had to wait a bit but it wasn't too bad! It was pretty busy so it was understandable. This time when I walked in it was busy but I was finally acknowledged! The no chip color selection has a lot more than regular nail polish and I found a great color. Everyone was a lot nicer this time around. The same rude girl in front wasn't there this time- phew! Dan took care of me and he was so nice. I had broke my thumb nail really bad earlier and it hurt so bad but he fixed it right up for me! Happy to say they are cheaper than my usual place but downside is they take longer. The guy took awhile too but he made sure everything was perfect and that I liked everything. My old place massages your hand after which I really love but it's cheaper so I can't complain. I'm so torn about this shop. I've been coming here for over 5 years. I'm sitting in the shop now and my appointment was 2 hours ago. I love the work but the service needs to be improved. Some days they will do exactly what you ask for from THEIR instagram and some days "they don't feel like it". Every time I come the wait is outrageous. I'm not sure why we even make appointments if they don't block your time out. If you have nothing but time feel free to come here but if you have priorities, don't come at all. read more

This was my first time coming to this salon. I wanted acrylic with gel, so that was my request. I sat down with a really friendly nail technician who did my nails. I rarely get my nails done, but when I do I always feel unsatisfied with the shape of my finger nails. I know that the technician is trained to know what they're doing (and he did a good job overall) but my nails always seem so wide and thick with acrylic. I've actually had a lady in the past narrow my nails effectively and I was actually satisfied with them. I think every nail technician uses their own technique, but they could've been a bit narrower and used less acrylic. Those aremy only complaint. The shop is descent, clean, small. There's a spa and a TV. Fairly typical in salons. When I was there, there was no wait but the technician told me that they're usually very busy. There are no appointments, just walk-ins. I wasn't too impressed with their nail polish selection in terms of colors, but they have a good number of polishes. That, and I can never find the right color for my dark skin tone. I just liked the fact that my nail technician was nice. It made it all the difference. Overall, I recommend this place and will give it another try. read more

The worst nail salon in Northwest Indiana! Way over priced but I'll pay for what I want and what I like but these folks are a little too rude for my coin! This is by FAR the worst customer service I've experience at a nail salon! Bless those that are willing to pay $85 $100 $110 and $160 YES $160 for mediocre nail designs ! In California I pay $38, $58 or $65 for gorgeous nails at a place called 3D nails! THIS is crap! And they have the nerve to be nasty to their clients! First time was a success! Me and my wife both loved our nails! I saw Kathy and she saw Tien. They were both awesome, fast and did exactly what we wanted! i like my nails a lot, but the service i got was absolutely terrible. the lady i had was closest to the front desk. it's one thing to have conversations with others while doing your work, but it's another to blatantly stop what you're doing to prioritize gossip. it prolonged my nail appointment way longer than it should have. she also stopped midway through my nails to take photos of another clients nails, without checking with me if that was alright and if i had the spare time. i DIDNT have the spare time. it took 15 minutes and i was already running late for an event I had to go to. The entire nail session, she spoke on facetime to someone and barley said a word to me. I don't expect to chat the entire time, but I felt ignored, ESPECIALLY when I tried to explain what I wanted vs. what she was doing. not the best experience. read more

The man that did my nails was very rough and made my nails very thick and when I asked him to file them down he only fixed the shape my nails were still very thick! He could tell I didn't like them because I said it several times and he acted very non- Chalant about the situation. Nails Pro in Schererville Indiana Well.... lets see. I scheduled a new appt full set, design with soak off time included. The wait wasn't to long. Everything went well until it came to the design and color of what I wanted. I showed them their pic from their website.(black and red matte polish with a rose design). the young man kept messing up the design having to do it over and over and over and over again! when it came to polishing some off the nails red.... he put a dark pink color on instead?? I didn't say anything at first waiting to see if the color would change after being in that machine?? but no, it still was PINK. I told him 3 times "this isn't red this is pink" he came back with "sometimes the pictures has filters on them so they wont possibly come out the same way"????!! Ummmm.... NO! then they shouldn't advertise these pics if they cannot accommodate the customer request! After being there now over 2 hours, the main lady?? I guess that's what she was, sat in this young mans chair as if to correct his mistake with putting THE SAME COLOR ON??? oh, I forgot I wanted crystals also on 2 of the nails which were put on very messy. (you can still see the glue actually on my skin where he put them on) my nails were polished very messy and not complete. overall it was a very bad job!! the owner said she can take $5 off for the wrong color. I know I shouldn't of paid what I did for this service but I learned and will never go there again! read more

Let me start off by saying I have been going to nail pro for a while they do a awesome job . I went in excited this Wednesday to beat the holiday crew lol. I was sent to a nail tech I never go to which is fine . However the nail tech seemed to be nervous about what I wanted to have done and by the way I was getting a fill in too. Needles to say when the tech got done my nails were done bulky and didn't look like I had a fill in done . I paid 70 dollars for this . Needless to say my appointment was at 4 pm I didn't get out until 8 pm so I was so tired I wanted to just get home . I spoke with the owners daughter the next day who said I can come in to get my nails fixed like I wanted them . Got there the owner was angry she had to fix my nails and was lifting her voice talking to me . She was upset that I wanted my nails fixed . I literally had to ask her to fix her tone because it was disrespectful and I'm a repeating client . After she fixed my nails she wanted to charge me a extra 15 dollars . The owner got so upset because I asked why because you had to fix the botched job of the nail tech . I'm not sure if the nail tech is her man or not but the way she acted in his defense was very weird . If I pay for a service I don't like it should just be fixed not me being scolded for not liking the service. Her daughter was very apologetic for the service I got . When we went back to get it fixed, we were rudely and unapologetically told to get in a 1,5 hour wait line. Mind you all she needed is one toe fixed! Never ever will I go back there again. Stay away! Very disappointed with the customer service I received. I've been going here for about six months, I usually get my nails done on Sundays. This particular time I decided to get them done on a Friday. I checked their website and the closing time was listed at 8 p.m. I made it about 6:30. When I enter the business one of the technicians advised me that they were closed. I expressed to her that the website shows that they closed at 8. She totally ignored my comment about the time and told me that I could come back at 10 the next morning if I wanted to. I don't pay for rude attitudes. I will take my business elsewhere, I don't give a darn how good you think you are. There is always somebody better. I went in for a full set. The staff was rude. Especially the owner's daughter. She was rude to the clients coming in for their appointments as well as the ones calling on the phone. The owner is arrogant and talks down to her clients. They were charging every client between $85-100 per nail set which was way too much. The shop itself was very dirty. The floors don't appear to have been swept in weeks. They do not listen to clients request and seem to get an attitude if client expresses concern or has a question. 3 days ago i went to Nail Pro and honestly the worst nails i've ever gotten. I got a full set with regular polish and almost all of them are lifting and cracking. I went back today and the lady at the front told me "the reason they're lifting and cracking is because i didn't get no chip polish." That is completely false and the dumbest thing i've ever heard. My cousin told me about this place, and I am really glad she did. There are two nail techs that I have had, one is Kathy and the other I'm not sure the name of but he has a barbed wire tattoo on his left bicep. Both are so freaking talented. I love most that they offer ideas when it comes to nail art, they created the cutest designs with rhinestones. The guy that does my nails is really gentle with the nail bed, I noticed when he buffs the nail with the machine he doesn't overdo it he just gets the spots that need buffing. First time getting my mani and pedi in Schererville. Heard about this nail salon from my friend's mom and I thought I'd give it a try. I went in there to get an appointment by they said they don't take appointments. So as I waited on someone to become free, I was choosing my nail polish color in the meantime. Within 8 minutes, it was my turn for pedicure and manicure. I did get to sit on a massage chair while my pedicure was being done. They did a pretty good job for both I just wished they scrubbed more of the dry skin off my feet. After mani and pedi is completed they let you sit down and place your nails under uv light in order to aid it in drying quicker. I paid $38 for regular mani/pedi + tip = $41. read more

The designs are amazing but like someone else said on here, they definitely have to work on the attitude. If you like your nails a certain way and politely mention any mistakes you may see for instance an uneven or crooked nail, save it because you will pretty much get banned from them doing your nails. She was pretty much annoyed by me because she couldn't do my nails the way she wanted. I guess its not your choice. I travel quite a ways to get my services done as I live in one county and the shop is in a different county....I've had my work done by the majority of the technicians there but I usually prefer Kathy... but I've enjoyed all of my experiences. Everyone seems friendly. Except when it's extremely busy customer service sometimes comes up short. But the work quality remains the same . I always recommend when complimented and asked where do I go. If you go just be patient clear your schedule because the work is worth waiting for. And be kind kindness goes a long way. :) read more

And they are mean, that don't have a creative bone in their body, u have to have a picture ready for them to copy from! They refuse to do hand free design all the do us use stupid stamps that look like crap when they are done! Now that I have been going here for a couple of months, here it is: PROS- * beautifully done designs * clean * a lot of technicians to choose from * friendly staff (once you get to know them) * moderately priced (i pay $65 for a full set no chip with a beautiful design) CONS- * No appointments, only walk ins * Kathy is the only one who can do extravagant designs * the wait. (I went in on Saturday at 10:10am and they open at 10:00am. Yet I waited 2 and a half hours to be seen) * if you aren't a regular customer of hers, you wouldn't understand that Kathy has kind of an aggressive/pushy nature. She likes to tease which is fine if you can take a joke but I've seen many women get offended but it's all in good fun. She also gets a little upset when you don't do the nails her way. I didn't want super long nails and told her so and she seemed a little annoyed. Don't be afraid to tell them what you want. You're paying for them after all. * I wouldn't recommend this place if you have short nails, they don't do well with them.
