My toenails were so not ready for flip flop season, so off I went to try and find a more luxury nail salon. I will say that you get the higher class feel here. To me, that's highly important, as getting your nails done is not just about the service of getting them cleaned up, but also to wind down to relax a bit. My girlfriend and I were helped right when we walked in and directed on where to go to start off with our pedicures. We both got the Avalon Nail Lounge Pedicure, since I figured they would put forth the most effort to give the best pedicure they could on this grade. To keep it plain and simple, this pedicure starts off with a fizzing tablet to enhance the water with an orange smell. They trimmed down my toenails alright. I would say the biggest issue I had here, was that the cuts weren't as precise as I would have liked, but the job got done. They applied plenty of cleansers to my legs and feet. Hot towels were pressed on me multiple times. There were quite a few steps they took with this pedicure package. I got a clear coat and she applied a clean coat throughout. She also gave me a packet to take home to apply to my feet later on. That was generous. I got a Manicure after that and it ended pretty quick. It was alright. I would have liked it to be more in depth detail-wise for sure. I feel like that was a little rushed for me. I paid $70.00 for both of my services and $75.00 for my girlfriend's. She got a really nice light blue polish to both her toes and fingernails. Hers came out absolutely great. From a price standpoint, this isn't the cheapest nail salon, but it provides a clean, relaxing feel with above-average services, so I can't really complain. The female who did my services was very polite. She smiled frequently with a positive attitude. I didn't have to argue with anyone or worry about any sneaky charges, so that was a plus. Overall, I had a good experience here and it's local to me, so I think I'll come back in the future. I recommend giving them a try! read more

The salon is pretty and appears clean, that's why I am giving at least 2 stars. I was a walk in, as I am new to the area, and was handed off immediately to a young man. I asked for dip and picked out a pale pink. I was told they are out of the color I chose so I chose a different color. While he was removing my old polish with the drummel, he cut my little finger by the cuticle. He didn't acknowledge the incident and kept going. Despite all this I was happy with the look of my nails so I paid and left. It is now 11 days later (not even 2 weeks!) and 8 out of my 10 nails have chipped and or lifted!!! I've been getting dip for years and this has never happened. I won't be back. read more

This nail salon is super cute on the inside but unfortunately the service I received fell short. I called earlier in the day and made appointments for my mom and I to come in and get pedicures and myself a gel manicure as well. They did stay true to their appointment time. When we walked in no one is there to greet you at the front but when we got someone's attention they sent us straight to the back to the pedicure chairs and someone started on us shortly. When I got to my chair there was water all over the floor, like a lot of it. I told the guy and he laid some towels down over it. My massage chair didn't work nor did my moms. My tech didn't say a word to me until he asked what color I wanted. He kept looking around interested in every single person that walked by but no focus on me, his client. The pedicure was quick, no massage no real scrub and no lotion on my legs. Seeing it after I left I noticed he didn't clean it up well and I have polish on my skin around my toes and I already have a chip. Manicure. The same guy (unfortunately) did the manicure. Younger guy, highlighted hair. Again, he wasn't paying attention, cut my cuticle and did a rushed job. He put oil on the base of my hand and rubbed it in one spot for about 20 seconds and then wiped it off. I guess that was my hand massage. He did this while looking towards the door watching other customers comes and go. I still have skin left around my fingers and like my toes, I already have a chip on gel polish.. When I got to the car I started looking over my nails in the sunlight and you can see it was a poor rushed job. I tried to call the salon but they must cut their phone off at closing time 7:30pm and there is no voicemail. I don't necessarily live close, about 20 minutes away and I'm busy this weekend with birthday activities but I wish I would of saved my $65 (+tip) because I am not happy with the service I received tonight. Notes: All the other staff seemed to be interacting with their customers small talking and such. My guy was mute. My mom enjoyed her pedicure despite her chair being broken but her tech actually talked to her and was personable. Update: I went back 2 days later to get them fixed. At this point 5 had chipped. They redid them by just painting in the chipped polish and not redoing the whole nail. One day later those same nails have rechipped. read more

I am extremely disappointed because they breached my trust. I was waiting for my feet to dry so I handed the lady my card. Well, that was the last place I used that particular card and I received an alert that someone tried to spend over $500 on my card. I knew it was them because she took a minute to hand me my card back and that was the last place I used it. I don't know why she would do that and I gave her a generous tip. Do not give them your card without being present or just use cash. It's sad that they would treat their customers with such disregard. read more

I want to like this place. The one near me has time management issues so I thought I'd try this one again. But the truth is, this place is hit or miss. When it's hit, it's good, when it's miss, it's meh. I got a pedicure and a manicure today and the manicure was... OK. They don't use cuticle stuff. They just soak your nails, scrape back the cuticles and trim them and then rub some oil on your hands. Then they do your nails and she actually did a pretty good job b of that. The pedicure was...fine. I had to encourage her to bear down on the calluses on my heels, and I even splurged for a deluxe pedicure. But really, she seemed very distracted and was lightly rubbing my heels. It turned out OK I guess. She also offered the razor, which I thought was illegal, but I never accept the razor anyway because I don't want to get an infection. I asked for a flower on my toe, and it ended up being four dots around a blob of silver. So I asked her just to take it off because it did not look good at all. Fortunately, they did not charge me for it. I almost hate leaving bad reviews like this because I know that these people work hard but I think that they can up their game and not be in such a hurry or distracted. It's not like they have a line of people esp early in the day. read more

This place is as FAKE as PRESS ON NAILS. Do not bother or waste your time or energy at this establishment unless you love a no chip manicure that will chip on every single nail in less than 12 hours. This place is careless and a sorry excuse for a business. When I went back to ask to simply be refunded for this horrible job so I could go get them done elsewhere I was told we make no guarantees when we do your nails and cannot provide a refund. Any normal business would offer to fix their work but instead they just did an about face and went back to do a half ass job on their other customers. My experience getting a pedicure was a joke and a half. I was repeatedly asked if I wanted to upgrade my pedicure then was questioned when I said I did not want a gel pedicure the lady goes "well why not" It is none of your business why I want a certain service, you should be just providing me with what I am asking and paying for. Then the nail tech continued to make a comment in another language to the guy who walked over and handed her the polish I had asked for and they both looked at me and started laughing. So unprofessional and rude. The pedicure was so bare minimum. Rather than give a leg massage and rub the green gel onto my legs she simply rubbed it on and immediately wiped it off and went on to painting my toes. You might as well stick to press on nails before going here because sticking a sticker with a nail attached to it onto your finger is more effort than anything this Avalon does not to mention a nail on a sticker would look better than anything this sad excuse for a nail salon does. I can't imagine this place will stay open much longer, don't let the high tech nice chairs and layout of the place fool you, that is about all they have going for them. read more

This was my first time visiting this location, and I will surely be returning! The interior design was classy and made me feel luxurious. I walked in and was immediately serviced. My foot massage was relaxing, and the mud mask smelled wonderful. Both of my nail artists had great attention to detail. I felt valued as a customer every step of the way. So...I have been to Avalon Nails numerous times, and I have to agree with other reviewers-the quality of service depends upon the technician. Apparently, this was my technician's first day. She asked how I wanted the water for my pedicure. I told her warm, and it was boiling! After a short soak, she asked if I wanted my nails cut. She cut them but then proceeded to push down the cuticles without using the lotion or gel. After pushing them down, THEN she added the gel and began to clip. She rubbed my legs and feet with the exfoliater, then used that to scrub my feet. On one of my feet, she asked if she should use the grater. Unfortunately I said yes, and I had to tell her when to stop, as I could tell she was going too deep. In fact, I now have a wound on my toe that I immediately put antibiotic salve on as soon as I got home. The polish was fine but she tried to rush me to pay without putting me under the dryer. I don't see myself returning there unless I have the name and an appointment with one of the best technicians on staff. read more

I go to Libby every time and she does an amazing job each time. Any design I want she can do it

I don't usually post negative reviews for small businesses, but my last experience left me feeling uncomfortable to where I would never go back. I took my 10 year old step daughter with me to get Valentines Day nails. Step daughter explained how she wanted hearts (nail art) on her nails, and the technician looked so irritated and yelled over to me "that is another $15" thinking I would say nevermind, I said "that's fine." Then she proceeds to tell my stepdaughter "you spoiled, not good." I couldnt believe it, was speechless. Then my nail technician was in such a hurry, when I got home I could still see some of my old gel color still on my nail, and was also rude when I tried to show her a picture of how I wanted my French tip thicker, to telling me "I know!" Well the French tip isn't how I wanted it. Thankfully I have a nail salon that opened closer to home that I will now be going to instead. read more

I used to love this place but the second to last time I came I got a infection in my toe. I didn't realize it at first because it didn't hurt but I noticed blood on the side of my toenail one night. After a few month I decided to give them a try because my mom was still getting serviced with no issues. I recently went back Friday evening for a full set and pedi. Sunday I noticed some soreness by the same toe nail that was infected. Long story short I have ANOTHER infection on the other side of the same toe nail. I'm assuming from unsanitized tools. I will never go back here again, I want my mom to stop coming here, and I would definitely not recommend. read more

I decided to try out the new place by my home. I walked in and was not greeted or acknowledged. Foolishly, I signed in and waited. After 15 minutes of waiting and not being acknowledged a young white girl walks in and is promptly greeted with excitement. The nail tech asks what she needs and promptly seats the young lady. I look over at the Hispanic lady sitting across from me who had also been waiting for some time. She looks not only confused but mortified. She mouths "WTF" to me but continued to wait. I did not wait. I left with no questions of why. It was apparent to me from the time I walked through the door that I was not welcome at this place. After reading all of the one star reviews I consider it a blessing. I do not spend my money where I am not valued as a customer or respected. I struggle with whether I should have asked why. Should I have asked if the young white girl had some special VIP status, should I have asked if they have a problem with melanin, should I have asked how much longer before service? I concluded the answer to be no! If there was some great excuse ( although highly unlikely) someone should have had enough common sense to explain or at very least acknowledge the people waiting patiently to give them money. Given the long wait with no acknowledgement of my presence I know that I did the right thing by leaving. The whole scenario did not feel right. read more

It was my 1st visit on Thursday to get a dip manicure. I was able to walk in and they took me back right away. I sat in the chair and the woman asks me, what do I want? That is the entire length of our conversation. Her coworkers were sitting next to her and they were talking just amongst themselves. Not even a hi or how are you? I tried to initiate small talk, but, she looked confused? My nails were nice, she did a good job. When I was finished, I followed her up front& paid. $50 to feel uncomfortable is not worth it! I don't mind paying that price, but, there's a lot of competition close by. She definitely understood me when she charged me! I tipped $10, also. read more

I've been a customer for approximately 6 months. During this timeframe everyone was professional. I was pleased with my nails until last week (4/13/24). I usually get great service but the last 4 times have been not very good experiences. From one nail tech telling me the color I picked would be ugly on my skin ... I'm black. Then instead of soaking off my nails using some device that killed my nail beds and then the nail tech grabbing my hand to stop the pain I was experiencing. Always being rushed and I can see if I didn't tip good but that doesn't matter. Then the nail techs always being on the phone and not focusing on the client or not paying attention because they're chatting with each other making several mistakes as well as hurt me. I've had too many bad experiences here. I won't be back and neither will my cousin. She's had worse experiences and I thought it was because she didn't tip that great. Sad to say I was wrong. Last complaint why in this day of COVID don't they allow you to wash your hands after they fill in your nails or remove the no chip polish, the debris is on your skin while they are painting, so if it's on the skin it's on the nail. Ok I'm done. I tried to give 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. If you like being treated like a queen a few times and a peasant the rest of the times then you go to Avalon read more

Walked in and they were super busy due to homecoming weekend for the area schools. Had about 15 tech doing nails. I was told to have a seat at a station but waited about 15 minutes and lady came from back, from lunch break. As she approached me, she never smile, said hello or a word to me instead began conversations with other employees ignoring me. I waited while she put her water bottle away, went and got a piece of gum from someone else and then walked over to another nail tech to continue to talk. Finally when she came back, again, no greeting or hello from her. She continued to speak to other employees and without making eye contact with me grabbed my hand to start using the dremel on my nails. I yanked my hand away and shocked her a little, when I had her attention, I said hello to her and asked if she knew what I wanted. She said hello but in a forced bitter way and once she found out I wanted a ta,e off and new set, that apparently was the end of her need to engage with me, of course until she wanted to be paid. . She spent more time worried about all the people coming in and continuing to talk to any employee that would respond. She was rushing and trying to use 3 or 4 scraper tools to get the gel nails off. Forcefully. I told her the method she was using hurt and she said it would be fine and started to give me a hand massage. On the ring finger on my right hand, she took so much of the nail bed off ripping the nail off it nearly bled!! I pulled my hand back in pain and she never apologized but smirked at me and again massaged my hand. She rushed as fast as she could so much so that I had to ask for the oil on my cuticles and a hot cloth. She put oil on one hand and since the other was under the UV, she walked away without doing my other hand. BUT finally wanted to talk to me to tell me how much it was and rushed me up to the register, watched me sign receipt for a tip and never said thank you or anything. She walked away to her next victim. I have been here a few times and had some awesome nails but will NEVER let her touch me. read more

My complaint is about the advertised pricing and what one ends up paying. My daughter got a full set of acrylic nails, which is advertised at $37. She wanted her nails in different shades of pink which I was told would be $5. When it came time to pay, I was told the bill was $45 for her nails not $42 (after originally telling me her nails would cost $55). Her pedicure was $32 and then I asked for no chip in her pedicure. I failed to ask what the additional charge was for no chip pedicure. When I was charged $40 I figured that was for no chip although I thought it was an odd amount. Unfortunately, I don't believe my daughter got no chip polish because within several hours, you guessed it, her pedicure is chipping. So I was over charged for her pedicure too. I'm so fed up with nail salons that don't charge the price they advertise and don't give what you ask for (no chip pedicure). FYI - I booked her appointment online and I am quoting the charges listed there. read more
