I read some good reviews about this place so I decided to check them out but unfortunately my…read moreexperience was the total opposite. It's small & clean in a nice looking neighborhood. I went in for a basic mani & French pedi. Now for those that get French - we know it's a specialized service (meaning they upcharge for it). A specialized service needs a specialist. While the nail tech was polite and tried her best, you could tell that wasn't her speciality and with the language barrier it was hard communicating exactly what was needed. Plus I think techs today put more effort into those that get gel/acrylic etc over basic/natural which is disappointing. She asked me if I wanted my toes cut down (I said yes) but she ended up filing them so they were still long. The towels are pretty dingy and they dry your feet with the same towel they work on, cuticle clean up was great but the leg massage was way too much pressure. I asked for bubble bath nail color but they gave me a purple equivalent & I had to ask for a 2nd coat. The white lines aren't crispy, & while I appreciate her trying to emulate the look I had when I came in, I think it would've been better if she just did her own thing. The manicure was standard, she skipped a few nails and had to go back. I asked for square square all around (hands & feet) but ended up with round square. Again, she was sweet & polite but for $78 - it wasn't worth the experience, especially not the French because my toe nails are still long so you can barely see the white tips and the color gives more of a purple than pink

Meticulous, precise, clean, patient, hospitable. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I wanted gel x, a cat eye look and my nails were done beautifully. While my nail tech was doing my nails, I decided I wanted them a little shorter and was met with no resistance. She happily obliged to any and all request regarding my nails. She took her time, made sure I liked the design of the first nail before continuing on to complete the rest of my nails. It was the most enjoyable experience I've had at a nail salon in a long time. I'm sold and I will be returning.

I originally came in for a pedicure and a full set, but I ended up not getting the full set I'll explain why. When I sat down, I was never asked if I wanted a drink, while other white customers around me were. I was also not given a menu to choose the type of pedicure I wanted. That immediately rubbed me the wrong way treat everyone the same. I asked for square nails and told her multiple times not to round them, yet she continued to do so anyway. I requested French toes with a soft pink base and black tips, but she acted like she couldn't find the colors. At that point, I told her to just do solid black to keep it moving. When we went to her nail station, I showed her the reference for the full set pink acrylic with a black French tip. She tried to tell me it wasn't possible and claimed she only had gel polish. I had to pull up a TikTok and show her, and suddenly she understood exactly what I meant. By then, I already knew my nails were about to be messed up, so I told her to just do a manicure instead. I paid over $100, and my polish is already peeling off. On top of that, the tools do not appear to be properly disinfected, which is unacceptable. I am a board-certified esthetician, and this experience was extremely unprofessional. Connie was careless, and this salon overall was a huge disappointment. I will not be returning. So pissed my gel polish is already coming off..

I had a horrible experience at this nail salon…read more The technician seemed almost put off when I initially asked for the pedicure and then, near the end of the pedicure, appeared finished without properly trimming my toenails. I had to specifically ask her to cut them down--which should be a basic part of a pedicure. On top of that, I was charged $60 for an incredibly subpar pedicure. I was so over it that I asked her not to bother with nail polish. Speaking of polish, I have NEVER gone to a salon that seemed almost out of stock of polish. Overall, the service did not match the cost, and I would not return or recommend this salon. There are too many other options, like Enchanted Nails, to consider.

The salon was calm, clean and friendly. And their rates are better than just competitive. So what made it such a great manicure? Rose. She removed my old gel gently. So I decided to try her out for a polish. She knew from looking at my nails the shape I wanted without a long explanation on my part. When I said no to the cuticle scissors, she gently pushed the cuticles back and ask if she could cut a couple of hang nails. And then she did an impeccable job applying the polish. And as a bonus, she was quite quick! Going back for a pedicure. And another favorite: no annoying tv playing something no one want to watch, or no bad loud music.

Before I went to Doan, I went to some high-end salon and spent about 1/3 of my paycheck for okay results. I decided to try Doan in search of a more affordable way to keep up with my blonde highlight habit, and I am so happy I found her. The salon itself is lovely and I am always impressed by how much Doan gets done in a day. She is a one woman powerhouse. My blonde hair is healthy and stylish in Doan's hands.

She did a great job on the bleaching and it's not damaged at all. The main gripe I have is that the dye she put on top washed out after one wash with purple shampoo, something that had never happened to me before when I had gotten my hair balayaged elsewhere in the past (nor when I'd gotten it toned every two months). She'd recommended using overtone conditioner--unfortunately, the silver overtone conditioner did nothing except give my hair a green twinge (looks a lot like hay currently.) When I panicked and told Doan about this she was kind and offered me useful advice--clarifying shampoo, which I hadn't thought about--and relayed the brand of dye she used so I wouldn't have an alternative salon use it on me in the future. Sadly, only two weeks after getting my hair done I'm going to have to go somewhere else to get it fixed, hence the three stars. :(

On 8/1 I received an eyebrow wax and was happy afterwards only to discover on 8/3 that I had a rash around the eyes and the eyelids. BOTH OF MY EYES!!! I was also burnt that left a scar that I can actually deal with but the rash not too much. I immediately notified the owner, she apologized, she shared with me that this happened to another customer earlier in the day, and to put Neosporin on it. She also shared with me that she saw the bumps starting to appear but failed to tell me until I brought it to her attention 2 days later. Luckily I had both Neosporin and Benadryl handy and started to apply the cream. Now on 8/5 and 8/6 I have woken up to swollen eyes!!! I called her again and asked if she using something new, what did she do different, etc. Of course there is a culture and language barrier that is difficult beyond words; however I am explaining to Christine what she did that day at time of service. She began to draw my eyebrow with a pencil, and then proceeded to wax and tweeze the brow. When she was done, I looked at the good job she did, paid and left. Only to discover this horrific rash and swelling on my face. I called on 8/6 to notify her once again of my concerns and she further explains that it has happened to her as well when she waxes her brows. Clearly this wax is bad, contaminated, or the like and this is a huge problem. The reason that I am going above and beyond is to avoid this happening to anyone else. My face is irritated and I cannot scratch it at all! I am highly upset, frustrated, annoyed, and now inconvenience for seeking attention to correct her negligence. What is sad is that I have been going to this place for 8+ years when she began in the building above her. I actually stopped getting my nails done here because after 3 days my nails are chipped and broken. I pass by too many nail salons that are much cheaper and efficient to have this done to me. So I continued to get my brows done here since I was always satisfied with that service. Christine will never have to worry about me coming back here ever again. The power of the internet and crowd sourcing will play a part when people begin to read many outlets of this unfortunate moment. After visiting urgent care I learned that this reaction is a STAPH INFECTION!! Now I'm on antibiotics until it clears. I wish her and her business the best but she will never receive a penny of my money again!
