Long story so I'm going to try to be as short as possible and still be fair. I had my nails done for a busy and important weekend including my granddaughters rehearsal dinner, wedding and my mother's 90th birthday party. Being an integral part of the preparations for the 3 events I had very little time to spend on myself but I really wanted to have nice nails. When I left the salon I thought the nails looked good but on the way home I noticed that my thumbnail had a cavity on the side, the top was peeling off and it was gummy underneath. I had no time to return to get it fixed so I decided to try to do something with it myself. I called the salon to let her know that I had planned to come by to pay since I didn't have my card when I was there, but wanted to speak to her about the way the nails were coming off. I have been a customer of the salon for over 15 years and certainly wasn't going to run out on the $45 charge. By the end of the evening several more nails peeled off. Valerie called me several times that evening to have me come back but I was at my granddaughters rehearsal dinner and certainly couldn't answer her. I was very upset because I knew I did not have a second to spare all weekend and I was going to have to try to get the rest of them off before the wedding the next day. My nails looked horrendous the entire weekend. There was just no way I would be able to get them fixed and I would just have to live with it. It was very uncomfortable getting up to give a toast to my granddaughter and her fiance at the rehearsal dinner with my nails looking the way they did. Valerie sent me a rather rude text concerning her $45.00 and the nails on Tuesday morning. I called and told her how disappointed I was in the nails and she insisted that I should have come back and gotten them fixed. I told her I would be in to pay her and thanked her for the horrible nails. Frustration was setting in at this point. I went into the salon immediately. Paid her her $45 with no intention of discussing it further but she pushed the issue. I explained that I did not have time to come back and get the nail job fixed and I was disappointed that she would want to charge me for a shoddy job. She was extremely condescending and insisted that I was satisfied with the nails when I left and if I had a problem I should have come back or could have called her after my granddaughter's rehearsal dinner or at some point and come back by. She had absolutely no concern for the importance of the weekend and my position in the events and lack of time. As it was I arrived at the wedding in tears because of the lack of time I had to get ready due to last minute decorating and making sure everything was completed. She said she sent me an invoice over the weekend The invoice was gibberish on my text and I didn't realize what it was. The point for me was not the $45 for the nails but that she continued to blame me for not coming back and how she had no way of knowing why or when my nails came off, as if I was lying. I rarely get my nails done so I don't know why they didn't dry correctly and started coming off. I might have been okay with it had I not gotten the rude text demanding payment before I had the opportunity to discuss my concerns. Valerie completely discounted and could have cared less about the importance of this weekend to me and my crazy schedule. She only cared about her $45. At one point after trying to discuss the problem with her at her salon, I became frustrated with her smugness and inability to listen, and turned around to walk away and just drop it. At that point she said "oh so you're just going to walk out now"? I was completely blown away that someone in business would be so completely rude and antagonizing. read more

Let me just say, I wish I would have known about Valerie a long time ago!! I absolutely love my nails & the experience I had today. Valerie was very formative about everything she was doing which was a good thing bc she did do some things differently then some of the places I been to. Her work is in point! I loved her set up, its more private & relaxed in her own room verses out in the open at most nail salons. Prices are great, no ridiculous surprises!! She was very helpful with helping with my colors && she made me feel very comfortable & just a very down to earth person.
