Change the muzak. Won't go back due to the 50's music which wouldn't be so bad if the same 5-7 songs didn't play over and over the entire time you're getting your services. Pure torture! Can't subject myself ever again. As for my nails, I asked for short, narrow and thin and they came out looking like big boxy chiclets. Way too long, super thick and super wide. Also my pedicure my big toe nail cracked in half soon after having it done and the polish wore off in less than a week. Walked in for an appointment. The gal told me just give us a few minutes and her daughter will do it. I waited patiently for 15 minutes, I finally asked how much longer, I didn't have time to si all day and then she said let me call my daughter and she made a call and then she told me five or 10 minutes. Five minutes after that she told me it'll be a half an hour. Very nice but not respectful of my time. Seems to mostly service older women who don't work or have child care commitments. read more

I used to live in this area several years ago and the two employees that used to do my pedicures had done a decent job, so I happened to be in the area and decided to revisit their salon. When I first got there, the salon seemed dirty and poorly ventilated, but still, I figured I would stay based on my prior experience. Well, that was a mistake, as my experience turned out to be a nightmare! The owner had her son do my pedi and whether or not he had ever done a pedi before, he was clearly unprofessional. First, he wreaked of cigarette smoke and as an asthmatic and even with a mask due to COVID, I started to have difficulty breathing during the pedi. In the first few minutes, I had to let him know that the water was scorching, and a few minutes after that, I had to tell him how to file my toe nails (never had to do this in the 35 years I have been getting pedis). He got halfway done when he was about to start the polish, while all the dead skin was still on my feet and toes. As I was questioning this, he proceeded to add acetone to the polish letting me know that "my polish," wasn't good, except it was their polish off the shelf! At this point, I had enough and told him that I was not happy with the service and didn't want him to continue. The owner came over and started screaming at me and said that even though I didn't like what he had done, I had to pay. I showed her my feet and how unprofessional my feet looked, and her son then called me a B__TCH and began using profanity! Instead of apologizing, she proceeded to tell me that I could not leave, and that she would "fix it." I told her that at this point, based on how I had been treated, I needed to leave. I also told her that I was having a hard time breathing because of the smell of cigarette smoke and needed to go outside to use my inhaler. She then pushed me back as I was walking to the door, and told me that I was not leaving until I paid. I could write a book about what happened next but all I can say is "be warned!" This salon clearly treats their regular customers great (based on the good reviews) but read some of the other poor reviews, and that was basically my experience with then being asked to pay for a service I never received. Law enforcement had to be called because they refused to let me leave, and I did not have to pay for the service I never received, but I wouldn't want anyone to ever have to go through what I went through. PS Based on all the bad reviews here, I will assume that "Tom" was the man that serviced me and in the poor reviews here, people ask why he is still there, and I can honestly say that it is because he is their son, and I am positive he is NOT licensed! read more

After a few years using Kevin, the owner, who was a great manicurist, he started charging me more money. Telling me they're making him increase the price. I asked who, since you're the owner. I gave him the extra $5. After a few times, again, they have to raise the price. I mentioned this to Kim, his wife. She said they only raised the price $2. I said, Kevin told me $5. Kevin takes off to the back of the store because he was embarrassed. I told them I was not coming back. The nerve, Kevin comes out and asks for a tip. I stumbled upon this place and let me tell you how great it is! Marta took care of me and she was GREAT! She worked with such detail and for a $20 pedicure she di much more than I anticipated, I highly recommend her. She also told me about other services they offer like eyelash extensions and eyelash lift and tinting and after seeing her work on another client I was definitely impressed. This has become my new nail salon and I'm happy to have found this place. read more

Where do i begin ? EVERYTIME i go to nails by Tam it's always an issue and im always dissatisfied, a last resort considering they'remy least fav salon! However with this coronavirus issue my options were limited so here i was getting my nails done by some fat guy who couldn't do any of the designs in the photos i showed him even though they got more and more basic as i showed him more pictures after finally deciding on a set a client waiting in the lobby asks me what it is i wanted so i answered her the fat man doing my nails then started to get irritated with my dissatisfaction (im sorry your level of nail artistry SUCKS) he then starts to raise his voice at me about my complaints, standing over me telling me to leave with 2 nails he has put acrylic over telling me he wasnt going to remove the nails. Moral of the story you guys none of what he did was necessary, customer is a big deal in nail salons and if you can't satisfy a customer never should you raise your voice as a man or stand up at them yelling to leave. I go there on the weekends and ask for Adrean. She is my choice. I have a hard time walking and she is right there to assist me to and from the front door and than to my car. My brother told be this was the place to go and he is right. I had problem with in-grown toe nails. It took about 3 visits and they are no longer there. I now go every 2 weeks before they start growing back. The job is pain free now. Kelvin taught her how to cut and remove the nail properly. Jacky is very warm and shows me where to seat and the friendliness is wonderfully. Jacky calls me and let's me know the best time to come. How many shops do that. I come here every two weeks to get a manicure. The feet may get an awesome pedicure every two months or so. The prices are affordable too. If you get several services at the same time, they give you a couple bucks off. 25 for a manicure and a pedicure isn't bad. Of course, the eyebrows need touching up as well. I'm happy with getting my beauty on here and it's only 5 minutes away from my house. The other one that is closer charges more money for the pampering. No thanks, I'll save the dough if I can. They offer massages, eyelash and waxing services, and the usual nail services. The staff is quick and it can get busy at times, so it's best to make an appointment. Honestly, I would give this salon a 0 if it was available. Had been a customer for several years, and experienced an overall decline in atmosphere and service. This season, their tendency is to overbook, and take walk ins at or close to appointment times. So, you come in for a scheduled appointment and are rushed through because they are behind. Totally not relaxing. This last time, the owner abruptly put me into the soaking tub with scalding hot water that she didn't check, burned my foot badly, and never apologized. They go above and beyond what other places do for customers, which I witness each time I go there. Their customer base is made up of many long time women and men who receive great service. I came here on a recommendation as I am visiting from NY. Had a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Very reasonable prices. Place is welcoming and spotlessly clean. Treated me like a long term client. Nails and toes look beautiful and Wang, Kevin and Kim were very gentle. Jacky also deserves mentioning for greeting me so warmly. The place is not clean, and instruments are not sanitized properly, they just rinse them and bring them to work on you... avoid at any cost. They don't do a good job , just grabbing customers to make money and don't give good service . read more

What an awful experience!!! My fingertips were cut and bloodied. It took 6 months for all 10 of my fingers to heal. The manicurist was rough and appeared to not understand a word of my English. I'm wondering if some of the manicurists at Nails by Tam are even licensed! read more

I love this place. It's family owned and operated. They are incredible at fitting you in last minute and doing a great job on manis and pedis. I started going to them a few months ago, when my "normal" place got too busy. It was the best decision ever. They do superior work and I walk out every time with perfect fingers and toes. I actually had a great experience there when I went there before. I even brought my fiance in with me a few times and I knew the mom and daughter Jackie that works there outside of the shop. However, the last time I went as a walk-in, I wanted to try something new. Another guy who works there was available so they told me to go to him. I could see that his english wasn't that great so i went on Pinterest to show him a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted. He nodded in agreement that this was something he could in fact do. (Simple coffin-shaped nails with matte black polish) 10-15 later, what I had was nothing AT ALL of what I asked for. He had cut them WAY too short and filed them in WAY too much. One of my cuticles was filed raw. So of course I'm frustrated because he's insisting that he's doing what I asked. So the dad walks over, who has done my nails amazingly before, and attempts to fix the damage. But its irreparable, so I just ask him to take the acrylic off. So Jackie walks over to see what's going on, and I explain everything. Instead of trying to accommodate me, (the returning, paying, and good-tipping customer) they tell me that I don't know what I want and tell me to leave. Mind you, I'd been there countless times before AND I showed the guy BEFORE he even started my nails of what I wanted. I wish he would have just told me he didn't know how to do it then I could have just tried something else. And I wish they handled that whole situation better instead of leaving me embarrassed and unsatisfied as a customer. They're not loyal and I will never go back there. read more

Everyone else really seemed to be enjoying themselves, so I don't really know what happened. Tom was responsible for taking care of me. Maybe he was having a bad day or just didn't like me or something, because he rushed through everything to the point where I was done 30 minutes before the rest of my group, he also cut my cuticle pretty deeply and rushed through applying my nail color, it came out light, but seriously it looks like only the bottom half of the nails are painted. I know I could have complained but what would have been the point? As I was waiting for my friends (who had a great experience) a man came in for a nail trim and refused to go to Tom and waited for someone else. He obviously knew something I didn't. If you choose to go here, just make sure you don't get Tom. read more

Horrible experience! My daughter and I went here today for pedicures, gel polish and powder gel nails. By far the lousiest job ever!! Pedicure polish all over toes and bubbly. Gel nails so awful my daughter cried all the way home. Would never, ever go back - huge waste of money! read more
