Worst nail salon experience I've ever had, even under new management. From the moment I walked in,…read moreit was clear this place has completely missed the mark. I came in without an appointment and was told there were no openings until 3:30. I then asked if they could just remove my liquid gel, and I was told yes. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The technician removing my gel nails cut my fingers twice during the process. Not once did he apologize. Instead, he simply pulled my hand forward and continued as if nothing happened, which was uncomfortable and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the front desk experience was shockingly unprofessional. The person working the desk was more focused on discussing her SATs and not getting into FGCU than on the customers in front of her- customers who were paying and clearly having a poor experience. Overall, this was careless, unprofessional, and honestly awful. New management or not, basic customer service and safety were clearly lacking. Check out the photo of my nails after "service" was rendered. They were left beaten up, sore, and in worse condition than when I arrived. Do not recommend.

Groupon brought me here but this place has probably sold me to another business. Lara was so sweet…read moreI wanted to love this place, plus it was so close to home, but the service was just OK. I walked out of here covered with blue green turquoise wax (how many people can actually know the color of their wax unless it's left behind in big quantities) and still with hair that a Brazilian wax should have removed. After a wax I normally tip and walk out feeling like I'm on a cloud. Today I went home laid back and started taking pictures because I wanted to be sure I wasn't being over critical. 17 pictures later I'm disappointed at the time I wasted and won't get back. I don't know if the service was rushed because of a packed schedule since next appointment called in while I was there. She asked for next appointment to give her two minutes. Two minutes I was out the door. My only other thought was maybe the hair wasn't long enough for the wax. She could have said that in the beginning and I could have rescheduled. She is sweet and makes you feel comfortable. Definitely would recommend her to someone doing a Brazilian for the very first time ever. Comparison is the thief of joy and she made me miss my old regular waxer.

The receptionist at Hands of Gold is very friendly, I felt quite comfortable as I waited for my…read morefirst message ever, and my very first facial. My hair dresser suggested I make an appointment with Amber, and I am so glad I did. I trusted Amber implicitly from the very beginning, and not worrying lent itself to relaxing into a very enjoyable experience. My feet are quite arthritic, but I did not feel embarrassed at all because Amber is not one who makes judgements about people's body parts. The foot message was so nice, the whole body message made me think, "Amber, where have you been all my life?" The facial was not only luxurious, but also divine because Amber went slowly and deliberately. I could tell she aimed to please, and that she was very happy I enjoyed the message and facial so much. Perhaps you might get a good message and facial elsewhere, by someone other than Amber, but she brings an added experience to it that words cannot describe. If you are a newbie, call Amber, if you are needing a new message, face, or nail expert, call Amber. You will be a very satisfied and happy camper! I can't wait until next time.
