Wild Orchids is a Chinese nail salon, located in Westwood. This was actually my first time getting my nails done at a Chinese-owned salon, in the US. I am Chinese myself, and felt comfort hearing some Chinese tunes playing. I felt at home honestly and wondered to myself why I haven't gone this place sooner. Today, I decided to get a chrome gel manicure, no acrylic extensions. Lol, also the first time I opted for no nail extensions & did natural nails. My nail tech was Fanny, who was very kind and did a great job! My nails came out exactly how I wanted them to ;). I asked for two coats of OPI Funny Bunny, one coat OPI Bubble Bath, + chrome finish. The nail salon was super clean. The tools used are all sterilized well. I consider their prices pretty fair, compared to other nail salons I have been to in the city. I would come back again and recommend coming here if you're around in the area!

The question remained which one do I choose. So...I chose Happy Nails (because who doesn't want to be happy)!! Right? Proud of myself because I was so impressed! Salon is immaculate and instruments were sanitized. Kim, the owner, was very welcoming. I had two colors in mind that I wanted for the my nail design. She suggested a different combination and she was right! But Kathy, who did my nails, was fabulous! She spent 20 minutes on a foot and leg massage that was soooo relaxing. I could have really zoned out were it not for the woman sitting next to me who needed to be on her phone saying OK about 15 times. I digress...Kathy designed a lovely blue and white flower with green vines and sparkles on my big toes. I love it!! I'm going back! Great service, friendly smiles..this visit made me very ...well...happy!

There were two customers inside along with herself and a single nail technician on the floor. Her demeanor was very rude and cold. I will never be returning and I do not recommend, unless you want unfriendly service.

In order to get what you want you need to let them know if you want a design ahead of time otherwise you barely get 1hr of service for builder gel. first time ever heard for as long as I have been doing my nails that I need to send pictures and add notes when making appointment. furthermore, they ask you to provide details when you're a first patient but they never ask you to begin with. none of the receptionist asks you any questions and if you do not know you wont get your nails done. Also, the technicians can't even do the shape correct: it's always going to be at an angel. lastly, the owner seems to be professional, do not get fooled. she can travel and she will book you with any other technician without even notifying you. just avoid at any cost. not worth the stress. They accepted far too many walk ins for the time slot with their staff on hand and pedicure stations ready. No apology or acknowledgement of the wait. I waited 30 minutes before I was invited to sit down in the chair. One of the nail techs started the water which was lukewarm. She increased the temps but an additional 30 minutes later of soaking obviously leads to the temperature dipping again. 1 hour after the "appointment" time they finally start the actual pedicure process. My companions are mostly done and moved onto the manicure station... Unfortunately the nail tech encountered a very PAINFUL ingrown toenail. I think she exacerbated it so afterwards I limped around for the rest of the day. The technique was also very sloppy. She globbed far too thick of coats for the big toes... I waited a sufficient amount of time where all of the other toes dried fine. Of course the big toes get dented. What a waste of money. One woman who was waiting around sighed in despair that she was so late for everything else in the rest of her day. Skip this place unless it's empty unless you have lots of free time to kill waiting around for 2+ hrs before your next event in the area.
