This place is just okay. I wasn't blown away by anything, but I wasn't incredibly annoyed either. My mani polish was a little uneven, probably because I had to lean to one side of the pedi chair to have both my hands done. I know this has become common practice when getting both a mani and pedi, but I just can't seem to get a good polish out of the practice. This is the only place I will go to. I love Linda and Van, they both do great acrylics, mani & pedi. I usually call and make an appt now because this place has gotten really busy in the last couple of years but they do take walk ins...you might have to wait a while though on busy days. I also got my first gel/shellac manicure the other day and even though it's fairly pricy for a manicure ($25) it's so awesome. There is no drying time, my nails feel stronger, and the polish is suppose to last for 2 weeks!!! read more

Nowadays it just seems natural that a business is prepared for walk-ins. Not this place, if you plan on going make sure you schedule an appointment, which is a huge bummer when you're trying to spontaneously 'treat yo self'. Here's the play by play for you folks. I walk in and look for the sign in sheet (isn't there always supposed to be one? Haha) and as I near the front desk the lady who is currently working on another individuals asks can she help me. I reply that I was looking to get the pink and white gel nails and pedicure. Before I even finish she starts shaking her head and says no, we don't have anything until late... Maybe 3. *note* I'm not putting anything in quotes because unless I have a tape recorder I can't 100% say that's what was said. It was then that my 'treat yo self' bubble popped and I took a look around. There were 6 people already in there. One who the lady was working on, another who was waiting to get her nails done. Then three soaking their feet while one lady hadn't even had water drawn for her. For a total of only two employees. Now if understand more if it was middle of the week at a weird time. However, it was 11 on a Saturday. Kind of ruined this place for me. Oh...and this is just me being petty now... But the carpet was disgustingly dingy and stained. Just from the walk in I wouldn't recommend them. Though I have no idea of the final product. Maybe they are just so good they don't need to accommodate walk ins or have clean carpets. read more

From the outside, one might bypass this joint, but I was extremely happy with the staff and quality of work. Van did my nails (full set) & was fun to talk with. She listened to all my requests and executed. I'm always weary of going somewhere new, but I'm glad I gave this shop a chance. I will DEFINITELY be going back. Their prices are fair, too. The only thing to companion about, really, is the strong nail-salon smell. It was a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Could use some ventilation. read more

Van did my nails and did a decent job, but she was running around and very busy between customers while Linda had a client and was being extremely unprofessional talking about other clients and also how sick she is of doing nails and dealing with people. I could tell the girl she was working on felt uncomfortable and was very quiet while Linda gabbed away... meanwhile I was waiting. Also, they didn't wash their hands or clean their stations between clients. Gross. If someone is paying for a service and makes an appointment, I expect you to be professional at all times. My time is just as valuable as yours and customers shouldn't have to deal with your rudeness Linda! You could take some lessons from your Sister. read more

They may not do the fanciest nail art, or have the widest range of types of polish (holographic, magnetic, thermal, etc.) but they have a veritable rainbow of colors. And they do a good job on manicures and fake nails. I love Van, will only schedule with her now. One of the gals is social and polite, and friendly when I hear with other clients, she is a polite but curt with me, and always seems exasperated, but she does a good job, though is a bit more aggressive on my tender hands. I actually left bleeding (which is why I had to subtract a star) a little once, and didn't go back for months. But maybe she will have no trouble chatting with you, I think it was a bad personality mix, it happens, no big deal. She's good at what she does, but Van is the gentlest. And it is nice to have a place where the artists chat while they work on you, which I consider very important. I haven't had may interactions with any other artists there than those two. But the salon is also a very large open space which is nice, and they give you free water, so good on them! I will keep going there. read more

I stopped in during my lunch break for a no-chip manicure using a gift card that my boss gave me 6+ months ago. The manicure itself was OK, I got a light pink color and the ends of my nails are all black from the tech filling the tips of my nails at the end. When I went to pay, I handed over the gift card and after a few minutes they asked me how much it was for. I didn't know, it was a gift from my boss. They asked me if I could call her on the spot or go back to my office to ask her -- how awkward! No one should ever have to ask someone how much their gift was for. I ended up leaving and told them I would try to check. All in all, I would not recommend getting someone a gift card from here as they don't actually have a gift card machine and can't tell the amounts/how much is left on the card. read more

I called an appointment in beforehand and when I came in the put my hands in acetone and just left me to do two other pedicure I had to ask someone else to remove my nails after a different lady did I had to wait another hour for another lady to offer to help me. I left with dry nails and completely unpainted, and they charge me for removing the paint. When I complained I did not receive and apology only excuses I would never go in again. read more

I love these ladies! They are always open, have stayed late, and go the extra mile working around mine and my mother's crazy schedules. We've been going since they first opened and have never had a bad experience. Linda does my gels and they are seriously always perfect. I have gone other places when I'm away on business and other gels never seem to last more than 5 or 6 days. At Nailcessity I almost always get 2 weeks out of them. I treated a woman to a mani pedi for her birthday last week. I wasn't there to see or hear what went on but I did see that she was cut and also bruised from the firm massage on her hands. It was the owners mother. I had included a $5 tip which was apparently given back, or thrown into her lap. I doubt I would send any one else there. read more

Went to treat myself for a mani/pedi and had heard good things about this salon, so thought I'd give this place a try. I called to check their hours and was told they would be closing early, 3pm, because there were no appointments on the books. I said I would be right in and asked if the salon was "kid friendly" and met with a rude remark, but it was at my discretion. Upon my arrival 15 minutes later, on a Tuesday afternoon, I was 4th in line and rudely looked over before told it would be a 30 minute wait. Even at that I decided to sit down and decide if I wanted to wait. I ultimately left when a patron exited after a pedicure and the woman openly made negative remarks about the woman's feet! I immediately left and will not be back, as nail salons are a luxury for this busy gal. read more

Called at 10 and made an appt for 11:15 to start soaking and start the appt at 11:30. I arrived at 11:05 and was ignored until 11:20. I then was told to pick a color and sit and soak. First off, low and bad color choices for gel nails. Second, I had gel from another salon and my nail tech couldn't get it off, it took her 30mins easy and still didn't get it all off. She didn't talk to me, charged $35 because "it was difficult to get the previous polish off," and I was very unhappy. After leaving Allure because they don't do pink and white fills. This was the next rated salon on Yelp. When I walked in they looked at the clock and said we don't do pink and white. I think it was close to closing time so they made up that excuse. I would not have stayed any way because the salon looked dirty and run down. Stay away from this place. read more

I made an appointment for 4:45, specifically telling them I needed a pink and glitter tip fill. When I showed up, they claimed they didn't understand what I was asking for and they thought I wanted a glitter back fill. That isn't even a thing. They offered me a plain back fill, not what I was asking for, or wanted me to come back 45 minutes later. I don't have time for that, not why I made an appointment. The other reviews are right, they don't respect your time or care about the fact that they make appointments. They wasted a huge portion of my day when I could have been finding a nail salon that actually cares about your business. read more

I for the most part always go to Nailcessity. Out of curiosity I have tried other places. I will be going back to Nailcessity from now on. Clean and friendly. Work is always nice. Sometimes it feels as if they rush when they are busy, but I will take that over dirty and rude anytime. I recommend appointments because they are busy. read more
