One of the worst nail salons I've ever been in. Here's why: I walk in looking to get a simple mani pedi. The salon itself is pretty; the back room with the pedicure chairs is gorgeous. The woman who did my nails was really sweet, and I could tell that the other employees there were equally nice. When I told the woman I only wanted a basic pedicure, I felt like she stopped putting in effort. The scrub lasted about two seconds. No massage, no lotion, no nail shaping.. nothing. She painted my nails alright, but that was IT. Side note: the soaking tubs were AWESOME. Fast forward to doing my nails. I didn't get a pair of cheap flip flops to walk to the mani station. I walked barefoot. ON THE DIRTY FLOOR. THIS FLOOR WAS FILTHY! I was like, what's the point of cleaning my feet just to instantly dirty them? I felt gross immediately. My manicure similarly lasted all of 5 seconds. She didn't even put on a top coat! She had to go, because two people came in to complain about the poor service! I literally sat in front of a mini fan (to dry my nails) and put on MY OWN TOP COAT. Literally applied it myself. For $34, I think I got even less than what I paid for. It's a pretty salon (though it's DIRTY as hell) and the people seem pleasant enough, but damn, that was horrible. read more

It's pretty good. It used to be very good, but there is a new one in a new shopping center in Bowie, which is way better. Evidently, this is a chain of nail salons that all provide consistently good service.. although some are better than others. As far as nail salons go.. the price is relatively high, but you get what you pay for... right? I like the newer one personally, it's located off of 450. So, I have been to this shop quite a few times over the years and I have seen great strides toward improvement. As with every nail shop, certain technicians are better than others and this shop is no different! When I come into the shop, I will only go to Kevin or Layna! Layna is a beast with nails! She is a pro, she manages her time well, and I am always loving my nails and the compliments they get! She knows every shape and is open to feedback! Love her! Kevin has steady hands and a quiet disposition! He is gentle and knows nail care, not just the menu. I brought my 80+ year old grandma to him and she hates the drill. He was patient and gentle and she loves him! I am glad they are under new management and making improvements to their services and polishes! I can def see the positive changes coming! read more

i came here to get my nails done, & the woman who did my nails was very rough with my hands. she would twist and turn my nails after she out on the acrylics, which was painful. she also made my fingers bleed when she was plucking my cuticle. she also filed the acrylics crooked on one hand. and i asked for a design & she didn't do it well at all. i then asked her to paint it over with black. it was better than nothing ig. read more

Once again I have to rate this in order to write this review, BUT ZERO STARS !!!! As a matter of fact if it could receive a negative number that would be their rating. One of THE worst establishments I've EVER come into contact with. I have had several issues with this nail shop, from horrible customer services to atrocious looking nails. I haven't been to this nail shop in many years because I had so many issues with them in the past, but I was in the area and just wanted a pedicure and thought I would take a gamble. "They can't mess up a simple pedicure" I thought but oh was I WRONG!!! The nail tech, if that's what you want to call her, was cutting my cuticles on my left big toe. She was picking a certain area and I noticed some pain I look and she's pulling a chunk of skin from the corner of my nail fold. I didn't think anything of it and thought she was done. She proceeds to take the wooden cuticle pusher and picks at the nail fold while I'm bleeding she continues to dig into the nail fold. I felt pain and look up and see the tip of the wooden cuticle pusher covered in blood. I said "why are you doing that why are you picking at it it's bleeding?! Why would you do that ?!" She kept saying sorry starts to panic grabs for the antiseptic. Oh I forgot she poured acetone on it first. I'm in shock. It's as if I didn't look up and stop her she would have kept picking at it she literally said "I felt something I was trying to get it out" The "manager" comes and says if you have to go to the hospital we will take care of all medical expenses. That was her response and then ask if I want to continue with the pedicure for half price. I try to clean the area with paper towel and asked for alcohol which I poured myself and then added more antiseptic. I was in shock and wanted to leave ASAP to try and go home and clean the area with proper supplies. As I leave I ask her to please put in writing what she promised, which was that if possible infection occurs and treatment is needed that they would be responsible for all medical expenses. This is literally what she repeated to me several times!!! She refused to write a statement saying "I don't write English" I said fine I'll write it for you. I write the statement and asked her to sign she refused. I told her I can't take just her word I need to have proof that one the incident happened and two that if treatment was needed they would take responsibility. I asked for the owners names and contact information she refused. So I called the non emergency police line and reported the incident. Two officers where sent to mediate the situation. The officers had to repeat several times that what she was promising verbally is what I had written down on the statement and she needed to sign to confirm. She finally signed and provided her real name but only after giving a fake on. Nail tech was Cindy and "manager" was Connie. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT EVER EVER EVER GO TO THIS NAIL SHOP!!!!!! read more

The only reason I even give this place one star is because yelp wouldn't let me post if I gave none!!!!...everyone in this salon is rude, unprofessional, and care nothing about the customers who come in! I will NEVER go back there again!!! If it wasn't bad enough that the chick I had left me at her station for ten minutes while she yucked it up on the phone wasn't bad enough! I went to the salon today for the first time. It will absolutely be my last time. I don't know my nail tech name however, it was a female short with glasses I think she could have been the manager. She was not good at all. I got a French pedicure. The quality sucked. She left my big toe unpolished with the clear polish. Left me sitting there while she chilled out front in the waiting area. I had to go get her for her to polish my big toe. The quality of her worked sucked. Most unprofessional and not worthy of my money that I work hard for. No work ethic at all. ZERO RATING!!!! I'm new to the area. I don't know how this place is still in business. before I can warm the set the tech asked me what is my nationality. Then asked the nationality of my husband. I lied and said I was Filipino when in fact I am vietnamese. however i declined to talk about my husband. that's when she told her colleagues that I was a snob, I guess because I didn't want to entertain her intrusive questions. I remain calm. After applying my tips and acrylic she directed me to the pedicure area. She started my pedi at 4:58 and finished my pedi at 5:06. WTF!!! We then head back to her table to get my nails filed. Before she could polish them, I just CALMLY said I was going to pay and leave. This tech started talking shhhhhh in Vietnamese. Saying how snobby and crazy I was. Her colleagues asked what was wrong and she said she thinks I have mental problem. This was when I flipped my top. I told them that I understood everything that they where saying. Talk about being dumbfounded. Insult to injury she short change me by $9. WTF!!!!! The nerve of this woman. When the Nail Trix on 450 opened I initially had great experiences with pedicures. However, the last two times I have tried to use their services I have been so disappointed. The first, I had an appointment to get eyelash extensions. I got there and they had me wait for a bit...this bit turned into over an hour before I walked out. Only once did they even acknowledge I was waiting and when I went to leave they were actually rude to me. It was stupid but I tried them again for a pedicure. I had appointments for pedicures for two people. I asked what time they opened and was told 9 am so that is when I booked them. Guess what, when I arrived they weren't open plus no sign to indicate when they might be opening. They lost nearly $150 in services that day and any future visits because I will never try them again. read more

This nail salon is definitely a trick! The lady that did my pedicure straight up lied to me. I told her I wanted the sides of my nails cleaned for my ingrown and she said at the end. A waste of time and $62 ($42 at Nail Trix, $20 to get the polish fixed somewhere else). I was a walk-in for a simple mani/pedi with a french tip. When I inquired about having a sheer white layer on the whole nail before the white tip, everyone looked at me like a grew a third head. They all chattered amongst themselves in their native language, and when my tech got back to me I could BARELY understand what she was talking about. Her grasp of english was so bad that I was becoming beyond frustrated. Realizing that I needed to work within their extremely narrow limits I just told them to give me the bare nail with white tip. Even then the white tip was uneven, she didn't clean up any of the mess she made on my fingers, and she just polished over cotton lint and random brush hairs that were on my nails. I was sitting there like "Really? Seriously? Did that ish just happen?" And forget telling her because she doesn't have a firm grasp of the language so when you tell her there's a problem she just looks at you like you're stuck on stupid. Places like this one are just "spa mills" get 'em in, get 'em out, get the money. These jokers can't even get a basic manicure and pedicure right, and remind me that in cases like these, it makes more sense to spend the extra money to go to a real salon with a real tech that knows what they are doing. read more

I sat and waited for a nail repair for 15 minutes only for them to allow another person that came in after me to go ahead and get her nail fixed. STAY AWAY - this place is terrible. I wanted a simple manicure. When I said no to gel, she immediately tried to upsell me on 9 other things - "oh, your nails are bad - you need X treatment" and my personal favorite - "you need your eyebrows waxed today" - despite the fact that I have alopecia and haven't had real eyebrows in about 10 years. Once she realized that I wasn't buying any extras, she made me pay (and tip!) up front and then rushed through, delivering one of the worst manicures ever. Horrible service, dirty instruments, and old nail polish! I went today with my 12 year old niece. We were in the area shopping and decided to stop for a quick manicure. We were greeted promptly and when I told the lady we wanted just regular manicures, she was pushing for the gel manicure. I said no, and she gave me a dirty look and pointed to the colors. She then pointed to a work station for my niece and another for me, on separate sides of the salon. The salon was pretty empty at that time, there were plenty of work stations available, and they all looked empty of instruments or any of the personalized things you usually see at nail salons. I asked if it was ok to seat together since this was our "girls day" to spend together and catch up, and she said "if he (meaning the nail tech) wants to work there, that's fine". She started on my niece's nails and then the guy that was going to work on mine arrived. Let me just say that I have no problem with a man doing my nails, but this guy was disgusting. He stunk of cigarettes, his hair had like chunks of dandruff, and his teeth were just gross. My niece looked at me and crunched her nose. I mean, I don't know if his coworkers are used to the horrible cigarette smell, but the lady doing my niece's nails didn't even flinch. The guy started to do my nails and brought out the instrument to cut the cuticles, out of a dirty, green plastic case. It clearly had not been cleaned, so I told him to not cut my cuticles, but just push them. When he went to use the nail polish, it was so thick and chunky, you could tell it was old, same with my nieces pink nail polish. Bad and rushed pedicure. They wanted to use a sander to remove my polish. They left old polish on my nails where it could still be seen after the mew polish was painted on. When I pointed th out ito the nail technician she blamed me for not letting her use the sander. I paid for the callus remover but they barely left it on long enough to soften the calluses. So i had been to Nail trix once before but this time i was not pleased at all. My aunt had her own bad experience, apparently you got a fungus under her nail after getting a pedicure...yuckkk! first off the nails techs aren't really warm and fuzzy and just have an attitude like your bothering them. i signed in and didn't wait that long to see someone i got a pedicure's set or acrylics and my eyebrows done. the guy doing mine did a horrible job! he barley scrubbed anything.To make matters worse he made my cuticle bleed and then put alcohol on it. As for the gel nails they were poorly done and barley lasted..when i do mine own they last longer! Plus the wax they used i believed may have been old because it made me break out a little like 3 days after and that has never happend before ...do u think all of this was worth almost 60$ !! ..i was so unhappy ugh! read more

This place has gone downhill. I should have gotten a clue when this place was nearly empty on a warm spring afternoon -- it should have been busy. Now I know why. The selection of polishes was seriously lacking. Outdated colors and not many bottles from which to choose. My pedicurist must hold the world record for the fastest pedicure. She spent no time and was very abrupt. I don't except charm and personality from the ladies who do this work, but really. Somehow she managed to make the skin on my heels look worse than before I came in. I barely had time to crack open my People magazine before she said I was done. I used to get my nails done there all the time I went today to get a fill the tech was new to me..her glasses kept falling off she seemed unorganized I told her no cut down she did it anyway..I told her just paint the tip she painted the whole nail.. Mrs. Rowe: Worst pedicure ever. She used a Dremel power tool on my toes because I she said I needed it, then she said she couldn't cut my cuticles because my feet were damaged by. While having a loud conversation on a cellphone, she slapped on polish like she was in a rush and I was the first customer of the day. She then turned off the overhead lights while I was drying and walked away. I'm sitting here in awe just waiting to see if she'll apply a top coat or just leave me here. Danny did my manicure and pedicure. He is very good at what he does. He made me feel comfortable and asked if he is doing the right thing. He has a strong but soothing massage that will surely relax your feet and hands! The place is clean and they always use new & sterile cleaning kit -open in front of you! Thumbs up for good sanitary practice! If not for the too deep cleaning of my thin cuticles which caused a little cut on my left pinky I would have given this place a five star! I'm literally only giving this place a star because it forces you to in order to leave a review. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. I came in on on 7/26/18 to get a color change on my toes and fill on my nails. The nail tech insisted on filing my toenails as he complained that they were too short. He broke skin on my cuticle a few times and when I said something he apologized and explained that he was "hungry". This was on a Thursday, by Friday my toe was red and sore, Saturday pus was coming out of it and by the following Wednesday I had a full fledged nail infection! I have done a round of antibiotics and spent large sums of money on doctors visits, which concluded today with outpatient surgery to remove part of the toenail along with skin, which has resulted in a small hole on my toe that will take weeks to heal properly. I have attached pictures to show the progression, but please do yourself a huge favor and stay away. This place just isn't worth it. WORST NAIL JOB EVER!!!!! I SHOULD HAVE WALKED OUT WITHOUT PAYING!! In short...my nail technician failed to paint half of one of my toes. I pointed this out to her before I got up for the seat. However, she blamed me and told me to be still so I wouldn't mess the nails up again. When I pointed out that she failed to paint the nail she was extremely rude. I should have left then but she already started on my finger nails. The nail job was awful. I got gel polish and it was coming off within 3 days. Typically my gel polish last about 10-14 days. This is the worst place I've ever gone! First of all the man that did my pedicure and gel manicure made me nervous as hell. Who is doing everything so goddamn fast that it made it hard to relax! Then I moved from the pedicure chair to the manicure table! The chairs are so uncomfortable that I would have preferred standing. There were other people there also that were complaining about the chairs! I had to ask two times for him to clean up my cuticles and they were still not done very well! The nails are all rough on the edge they're all bumpy. I was tired and did not feel like saying anything to these people! They never even asked my name they didn't tell me their name they didn't say thank you for coming! Nothing! Then as I went up to the counter to pay I was told that they did not allow tips on the credit card well that's a bunch of bullshit! If you do not want me to pay with a credit card and put the tip on the credit card then you don't get a tip! The only reason why these people don't want you to put the tip on the credit card is then they have to reported as income tax! Well I won't be going back to this place!
