I've been coming here since I moved to Swampscott in 2022! They all do a great job with acrylics. Good pedicures and gel and dip too. I've tried other places a few times, and often left disappointed. The ladies at Nail Spa Salon never miss! My nails are always even, straight, not too thick or chunky, and they often last up to 3 weeks. I have been going to this place for years. It is very personal and they get to their clients quicker than I have ever seen any other nail place. Obv not every nail technician is best for everyone. However, more often than not, they do a phenomenal job! The rarity that someone new does less than perfect job... When I return day or so in later, they will fix whatever I am unhappy with for free. I've been coming here for 4 years and I really like it. It is quality service for a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and the space is clean. While it is not as "fancy" as some of the surrounding nail salons, you are paying for that fancy-ness either. I wear fake nails and they never break, chip, etc. Pedicures are amazing! Lets start off by saying I rarely get my nails done and I decided to pamper myself. After calling ahead of time to check the price on a full set, I decided that $28 was reasonable and headed on over since it's fairly close to me. I came in and the lady came over immediately and asked if I had just called about the full set and I said yes, and that I just wanted a color. I was pretty okay with everything, it's your typical hole in the wall smelly nail place. The lady finished and I went to pay. She then told me it was $40. When I had asked why it was $40, when on the phone she said $28 she had started saying things that I couldn't really make out other than new gel. I'm sorry, did I ask about gel on the phone? Did you ask me if I had wanted gel when I had arrived? No. So MAYBE don't assume, I was pretty upset that I then had to pay $40 plus tip, for a mediocre, unclean, hole in the wall place. If I wanted to shell out I would've gone to a spa and actually treated myself to nicer accommodations that didn't smell like feet because the workers relax by taking off their shoes.... read more

My friend and I went to get our acrylics done, when asking about how long we wanted them and how we wanted them shaped I got yelled at by the woman doing my nails for explaining what I wanted. She told me to stop saying it and that she knows what she's doing. She ended up making them a lot shorter than I wanted and not even remotely the shape I wanted. My friends person rushed through what she could then left half way through and she had to wait for there to be another lady to finish the job. They all rushed through the job and they looked absolutely awful. There was acrylic all over my skin that was still attached to my nail and they were very clumpy and uneven. The nails we not even on for a week and a half by the time they started popping off. In addition they didn't cut our nails or clean our cuticles up at all. I would not recommend going to get your nails done here even if there was nowhere else to go. I would wait till there's an opening somewhere else. read more

Dont get fooled by their specials. They will say yes to everything on phone and once you get there, they will charge extra for their services and then say they dont really understand english very well and hence it was a miscommunication on the phone! Terrible customer service. You feel like you are burdening them when you go in for a service. I get reprimanded every time I go in there no matter if I call ahead or if I do not. They seriously need to reevaluate or hire a business manager to oversee this unacceptable behavior. They girls here rush through your service because speed is what matters to them. I sat down for a pedicure which took less then 20 minutes and she finished and walked away to the next customer. I was here last summer and I did not know the name so I could write this review. First, I got the worst ingrown toenail of my life (had to be surgically cut out) because the woman who did my pedicure cut my toe nail so poorly and at a slanted angle. I couldn't believe how awfully done it was. My fingernails also started to bleed during my manicure because of how harsh they were with the instruments. This is the worst nail salon that I have ever been to for several reasons. First, the service is unprofessional, the workers are rude, imcompetent, and provide terrible quality of service and the nail polish is old and bad. I had shellac done and the next day, it came off of one finger. And after that, it came off of three more fingers. I didn't even go to fix it because it would have been a waste of time. Absolutely terrible!!! My first and LAST time going to this salon. There were toenail clippings all over the floor. I went in for a mani/ pedi and instead of doing my pedi first and bringing me over the manicure table for my mani, she gave me a very lackluster mani while my feet were soaking. Very reasonable, it's my go to salon! I am so used to it by now that I almost miss it if I try another place on special occasion. They do a very good job for one of the lowest prices around. My only complaint is that they are very much there to make a profit. If you are there and it is slow they will spend forever with you, but if they are busy they will get you in and out in no time with zero extra fluff. I started going to this salon when it first opened and really liked it. It was reasonably priced and service was great. I liked that I could walk in and even if I waited for 30 minutes could get my nails done. They were also quick so if you didn't have time to be pampered then this was the place to go. As the years went on and the clientele increased, it became the most unpleasant place to go for a "relaxing" activity. The service was terrible. They try to do the most people in the shortest amount of time. Often, I would have someone doing my manicure and someone doing my pedicure at the same time rushing to get to the next set of hands/feet. The staff talks to each other and fight at times. It seems they talk about the customers too and laugh. It is quite uncomfortable! Jenny is the worst. She needs to be let go. She is witchy pushing your hands away in an aggravated way depending on her moods. She is always trying to upsell too. She doesn't like to take ''no thank you" as an answer. She keeps asking "why you don't want a pedicure today" or a wax or shellac or whatever else you are not buying. It is the main reason I left that shop. I now pay Nails and Company more money for a very pleasant and relaxing experience. I feel bad for Nancy as she is a lovely lady who is doing her best but doesn't seem to have any authority over her staff or the knowledge to run a professional nail salon. read more

I used to come here all the time (from the time I was in high school until about a month ago), and was usually pretty happy with the salon. Service was usually lacking, I would call ahead to make an appointment (because it is ALWAYS busy there) and no matter the time or day you made an appointment you can expect to wait at least 30 minutes. They are never honest about wait time, and just want the business so they tell you to come right down. Even then, I would try to look past it because I genuinely liked how my nails turned out... Up until recently. About two months ago I started getting shellac. I loved the way my nails looked, and they did a decent job, However, about a month ago I got french shellac. I loved the way my nails looked (and never minded paying the shellac price as it is usually guaranteed for two weeks). About a week went by and my shellac started to chip, bubble, and peel off. I was pretty disappointed (as its guaranteed for two weeks), so I called the salon. I explained to them the problem and they assured me they would fix it free of charge and to come right in. I returned to the salon the following morning. They never asked me if I wanted a new color, which i brushed aside because I figured since I wasn't paying I had no right to complain. They tried to only fix one hand because "the left hand wasn't bad" and I told them they needed to fix both, reluctantly they did. The girl never asked how I liked the shape of my nails, or the thickness of the french (again I brush aside because I wasn't paying.) When my nails were done they looked okay, but i wasn't thrill. I went to hand the manicurist my normal $10 tip because although I wasn't paying she still worked. That is when I was shocked, they were upset and basically made me feel uncomfortable that i wasn't paying the normal price for the shellac. Which I again explained what happened and told them I was reassured they would fix it free of charge. I then told them if they wanted me to pay, that was fine but I wanted them to take off the polish and do the shellac to my liking instead of their own. That is when they changed their tune, told me it was fine and I left. But, the saga doesn't end here. FOUR DAYS LATER my new shellac started peeling off everywhere. I won't be back, and would suggest those of you looking for a salon not come here. read more

I have been going to Nail Spa since January of 2008. The staff knows what they are doing! While I agree it is not the fanciest of nail salons, their prices are very fair. They manage to accommodate a lot of walk-ins as well as keep their appointments moving on time. I went in on a Monday with my best friend to get the special. We figured it wouldn't be great, but not terrible. Boy, were we wrong! I've been here before, mind you. The day before my wedding and my nails were wonderful as well as my bridesmaids'. Today, we got 2 lazy hacks who didn't want to do a thorough job and pushed us on this vinyl nail polish. They DID NOT indicate that this was part of the special. It was not $30, but $40. It's supposed to last longer than regular nail polish - my friend's nail's were peeling as we got home. We could have bought the stupid bottle for $10. They were absolutely lazy and did not tend to the cuticles, mine looked horrific. Furthermore, they paid little attend to the heels. They rushed through the whole process and my nails look crappy. Also, please note, there were only two of us and no one else in line. So they could have taken their time to get things right. I went to get a pedicure and a gel manicure this morning. When I showed up they had not electricity due to an outage in salem. They insisted that I stay, I said I would be back. So an hour later I called and they said everything is all set. When I arrived again, jenny seated me in the pedicure chair. I showed her a picture of how I want my toenails and finger nails, and that I want a certain color. She said no problem and started. Well the pedicure was fine when she went to polish my nails I asked what color she had and I was informed it was the one I asked for. Which she already started painting and insisted it was the correct color. When we went over for the manicure she never asked how I wanted my nails filed or anything she just started with the gel. I had to constantly remind her that I want a different color on my ring finger. When she was done I noticed all the bumps and lines on all my nails and I showed them to her. So she just put another layer on, I again said that they didn't look right. But she already moved on to the next person. When I went to pay it cost me $75 and I've never been so unhappy. I also wanted an anchor design on my big toe nail, let's just say it looks nothing like an anchor. I didn't have the time to fix it, but I will be calling the manager for a refund.
