In short, don't waste your money here. Wish I could recommend another nail salon close by but haven't been able to find one in Neenah that I love. There's a decent on in Oshkosh but I like Top Nails in Appleton.
So the owner is the one who actually did my nails and not sure if she is always like this or something was going on behind the scenes but she was sassy and condescending to her entire staff I literally could not believe it. I can't support someone who doesn't support their own staff. And was also sassy to me. I had obviously never been there before and when I walked in one of the ladies was taking down some baby decorations so to make small talk I asked if they just had a baby shower here or something. The owner then looked at me like I had three heads and steps back from the other side of the counter to reveal that she's pregnant and she goes "it was a gender reveal for me...." pointing to her stomach. I realize that in reading this you're probably confused, thinking 'I don't get it, what's the issue?' Well, it was one of those 'it's not what you say, it's how you say it' type of things. I mean how would I ever have known that? No need to be sassy and rude.
Another thing I have an issue with is that you have to tip before they even do your nails...?! In principle I think it's a good idea because then you don't have to try to get your card out to pay or sign a piece of paper when your nails are fresh. BUT I always tip the person based on how good of a job or not that they did. If the nail tech takes their time and really does a great job, that will be reflected in their tip, and also the opposite is true - if the tech rushes and does a shoddy job, that'll be noted.
Here's the real kicker for me, though. As she is prepping my nails I tell her that I like them really short and pretty square. I can tell that she's almost done with the prepping part so I was like oh is it actually possible get these few nails shorter because I like my nails really short...as I had already mentioned to her. After telling her twice that I like my nails shorter than the average person, all she did was file them and they were long when I went in. She literally didn't even clip them. Anyways, she literally says "IF YOU WANT THEM SHORT YOU CAN DO THEM AT HOME." WHAT?! At that point I should have just left and done them at home as she suggested BUT REMEMBER, I HAD TO PRE-PAY! I was so taken back because I'd asked super nicely and it's not like I'd made some outlandish request.
Only because I believe in second chances I mayyyy give this place another shot if I was really in a pinch but would definitely not recommend it to others. read more
