I asked her to reshape the nails so they would look better, but she got upset and handed me the file so I could do them myself. Overall, this place sucks. The people here are extremely rude, and it's ridiculous. I've never had such a bad experience before.

Once we were directed to sit in the pedicure chairs, the nail technicians were friendly. The chair I sat in had a half sucked sucker in the cup holder and some shiny oil on the seat, which I wiped off with a towel I found. My toes turned out pretty, and I'm happy with that.

Rating: I used to enjoy coming here, but a recent…read moreexperience and the management's response have ensured I will never return. During a pedicure, the technician used a foot rasp (the "cheese grater" tool) on the TOPS of my toes. Despite me explaining that my skin is very sensitive and tender, she continued until I was left with bloody scrapes and blisters. Using this tool on the tops of toes is not standard practice and was incredibly painful. When I called to share my concerns and sent photos, the response was defensive and unprofessional. Instead of listening, a man spoke to me using "legal mumbo jumbo" as if I were threatening a lawsuit. He even tried to shift the blame onto me for not disclosing a medical condition, despite the fact that this tool should never be used on the tops of anyone's feet. It took months of follow-up and sending photo updates of my scarring before I was finally heard. All I wanted was an acknowledgement of the mistake and a promise to retrain the staff, but the salon turned a simple safety concern into a hostile confrontation. Proceed with caution.

Both seemed like they were applying the products properly. But, within 24 hours, a couple of my dip nails were chipped and cracking so I went back and had them fixed by Betsy. I tipped her for her time but the service was complimentary. After another day or two, more nails were popping off completely and chipping still so I went back for a total redo with Hellen. She charged me $25 even after I told her how wrong and unfair that was. I asked her to have a manager call me. She called back and told me I would not be refunded but could have a $25.00 credit with her and her only when I came back. After a few more days, my toes and fingers all looked like complete crap. I've had these services done regularly for many years and have never not had the products last 2-4 weeks at least. Obviously something was really wrong with their products. I called to tell them but never heard back from anyone. Very disappointing. Will not return. New York Nail Bar has been really awesome and highly recommend their salon!
