I was happy matte topcoat was available, yet I was surprised with the lack of care and courtesy. In an effort to say less: with polish flaking on the design of the "fixed" nail polish, she applied lotion to my hand and asked for payment. She was appalled when I asked her to redo the nail and forget the design. That wasn't the end but I will end it with that! Live and learn! PS: They are the only two of my nails that have cracked!!!

He was so nice, made great conversation and did such precise work on my nails! The shape is exactly how I wanted it and it's so smooth. I also got a pedicure. The last THREE times I patronized this place I witnessed blatant racism. I wanted to make sure this wasn't just coincidence. I paid close attention to the owner giving White patrons back massages with her bare hands and giving Black patrons a beat on the back with these tools (pictured below) as if she doesn't want to touch them. When I confronted her about this, she said sometimes her hands are too tired. But a lady (who just so happened to be white) JUST got out of her chair before me and she gave a back massage with her hands. As soon as my nails were finished...she reaches to grab these tools to bang on my back. I said no thanks and let her know what I witnessed in my last three visits. OF COURSE, she denied, denied, denied and said "my bad." First of all, I do not speak using ebonics so "my bad" from her was also a bit much. Very disappointing. I've now seen both her and her husband doing the same thing with customers. If you guys barely want to touch Black patrons...don't accept their money! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR! Extremely unsettling. I hope you two are not teaching your daughter this racism too. I will never give VIP NAILS another penny. Also, the reuse flip-flops and toe separators. And they do NOT clean nail tools in between customers. I always had to request sanitizing in front of my face!!!

Wasn't I paying them to do this for me??? Anyhow, the woman next to me ended up getting the nude shade and I got some kind of deep burgundy thing "with bling" (which I didn't want or ask for in the first place). Also, the nails on my right hand ended up slightly shorter than my left. I really wanted to make this my new go-to salon, but it takes up too much time and energy for me to argue with the owner about what I want and then not get it anyway. Sorry. They do good work and the French manicure I had earlier was the best ever. But then I came back to get this?? I have to say it's hit or miss! I will say I appreciate their hours. It's usually hard to find a good place that offers service after 5 pm.

Emma's was recently remodeled and looks more beautiful than ever. The employees are friendly and accommodating, including the owner Andy. He always makes sure his clients leave happy. My go-to girls are Pebbles and Phanny, but I've had my nails done by other techs and I can confidently say that everyone does an excellent job. Eyelash extensions, waxing, dip powder/SNS and mood colors are among other services they offer. Prices are fair. For a gel manicure and a regular pedicure, I paid $52. Cash and card are accepted. If you pay with cash, however, it's cheaper. They do have an ATM available on site if you don't have cash with you. It does tend to get busy between 5pm-closing so expect a wait if you stop by after work. On Saturday mornings, there are usually customers lining up outside. Make sure you arrive early and sign in if you want a specific technician.

They're clean, their schedule is organized and they don't overbook, they take appointment deposits, etc. The manager/owner is very nice and very skilled. My first time there He immediately helped take off my gel while my nail tech was getting the table set up. He also gave me some great advice about general nail maintenance and cuticle maintenance. I think my techs name was Alex, I don't remember what the managers name was. I asked for sunflowers on a black background and asked him if this was something he could do. He insisted he could and I let him know that it was completely okay if he couldn't because I had a backup design. He ended up not being able to do it and had to ask another tech to do it. They came out more like daisies than anything and I wasn't thrilled but I didn't want to hold up the appointment behind me by asking them to redo it. The worst part of this was when he started clipping my cuticles, he cut the entire side of my finger. Not just a little nick...the cuticle clippers took a chunk out of my finger. He apologized and I said it was okay because mistakes happen, but it happened AGAIN. Two chunks taken out of two fingers. (See in pictures below) To me this is unacceptable. I also asked him to be very careful with the silver drill tip because I didn't want to be cut. He cut me anyway and then said it's because my cuticles were dry. The cut was deep, it had nothing to do with dryness. I considered returning at a later date and just asking the manager to do my nails, but I can't ever go back here.
