I want to hit on a couple points about this adorable and charming little nail salon…read more 1. Appointments matter. I cannot tell you how many times I've made an appointment at a nail place that doesn't matter at all. I know you want to serve as many clients as possible, but appointments should come first and they honor that. It's very appreciated. 2. Attention to detail. The technicians are all so talented and take extra care to get your nails just right. I have never left with a rough edge, sloppy paint, or something I didn't want. 3. Options, options, options. They have SO many colors to choose from. And they're always getting new stuff. Plus fun extras like dried flowers, gold flake, gems... it's the details that get me every time. I've never seen anything they can't do for anyone. 4. Communication. You can easily communicate with everyone- the front desk, the technicians, the owner. Not being able to understand someone working on my nails makes me really uncomfortable so this is huge for me. 5. Fun! This is just a fun shop. We sit around and joke and talk about food. Even thought I am a customer, I feel like part of the team. Everyone is friendly, funny and delightful. It's just a fun place to be. I really cannot say enough good stuff about this place.

I was in town for a wedding and had a nail crisis. A broken nail before a heavily photographed…read moreevent is always anxiety inducing, but this salon saved the day. I bet you can't even tell which one was broken, the color match on my cat eye polish is perfect! Henry took such good care of me when I had a broken nail from a different salon all the way across the country, I will never go to another nail salon in this area! If you live here, you're lucky to have him so close to you

Service was 10/10. They sat me as a walk-in as soon as they opened on 11am on a Sunday. Bryan was…read moremy tech and gave me a really nice pedicure. The location is quaint and super clean, and they offered you a drink if you want one. I got a basic french tip gel set on my toes and they came out fine, the white tip aren't as curved as I would like but I'm not super picky with my toes. It's my fingernails I am super picky about. Unfortunately I am super picky with the shaping and sizing of my fingernails. One thumbnail is much smaller than the other which does bother me. Getting an acrylic set is always a hit or miss no matter where you go due to how thick they can come out, and I do think mine came out a little thicker than I hoped this time. I really like the color I chose and that I got the cats-eye design, but what drops my rating is the price of $150 without tip (for a classic pedi with new gel, acrylic set with gel, and catseye design) and the lesser attention to the small details. I wish all my nails' shape were sharper and less rounded at the tip, and that my thumbnails weren't two different sizes. It's hard to notice those imperfections in the salon so it's unfortunate that I only notice once I leave and came really look at them. Honestly it's the price that gets me. Charleston nail salons overcharge just because of the city. So ask for a price estimate beforehand so you don't look surprised at checkout!

We opted for the second one on the menu which was $49 without gel and $66 with. The woman doing my husband's nails wasn't pleasant at first and complained about how thick his nail was. He told her she could cut it down and she started this long story about people suing for ingrown toenails and ACTUALLY said "We are not doctors", which was rude!!! We tipped and left, but I won't be returning. The bottom of my feet were still dry and I had to lotion them myself, whereas the other nail tech put oil and lotion mixed on my husband's feet to ensure they were well moisturized. They kept asking me if I wanted a manicure, but after how she treated my husband I politely declined 3 times. It was giving money crab energy instead of real concern or care for my wellbeing.

It was the first time I came into A Nails for a pedicure or manicure. I brought my granddaughter to…read morecelebrate her birthday with some basic gel nails. We weren't happy with the outcome for her and part of it was due to the nail tech Amy up selling extras to a 13-year-old well I was unaware receiving my own pedicure. No one passed it by me who would be paying for the service. I was relaxing in one of the most comfortable massage chairs I had ever encountered at a nail salon. I very much enjoyed my pedicure and was satisfied with the gel, nails and expert cleanup on a difficult toenail. It was time at the register where things went bad. My granddaughter's nail job was probably one of the worst I had seen, and I never would've accepted it myself and the price tag was almost double what I had expected to spend due to all the extras. The salon owner was not present, and I did not want to cause a ruckus and ruin an experience that a few other folks were having getting their nails done. I figured I would address it direct to the owner afterwards. I also did not want to embarrass my granddaughter. She would've been mortified. So, after talking to Amy and politely letting her know, I wasn't happy and she offered a redo for my granddaughter, but I was not comfortable with having all that done to her and spending all that time again. I did pay the bill and its entirety and planned to contact the owner the following day. And after all, I was satisfied with my pedicure. I owned a service related business myself for many years, and I felt comfortable handling it this way. So, this is where the experience flipped back to good! I contacted the owner and refused to have my granddaughter's nails redone and instead requested a refund for her nails only. The owner and I chatted it out back-and-forth and came to a satisfactory resolution. I was very impressed with the determination to make sure that an experience with a child would not happen like that again as well as the owners determination to do the right thing with a refund. Everyone deserves another chance and I'm sure Amy has been schooled additionally on technique and making sure she has the approval from the person paying the bill. Overall, I want to wrap up with the salon has plenty of good plaza parking, the waiting area was nice, the electronic check in system was techno current and easy, and there were many polish choices. A-Nails is one of the cleanest salons I have encountered. Their air return system was exceptional, and you did not walk in and smell the gasping smell of chemicals. That really matters to me! Especially when I'm bringing in a 13-year-old. The pedicure chair had an easy to manage control, delivered a relaxing, comfortable massage and my tech treated me with a gentle yet skilled exfoliation on a foot that had been badly damaged in an accident. The gel nail polish she applied is still holding up two weeks later. Next time I am up for a gel pedicure I will go back. I will look up my text name and update this as soon as possible. I can't help but notice that I remembered the name of the tech that screwed up on my granddaughter, but not my own who did a good job. Negative feedback sticks in our heads more than positive. I think the owner understands that bit of marketing strategy. The owner is doing everything she can to run a good business and everyone deserves a second chance, including Amy
