Love it here! I still only go here even though I moved out of Wakefield into Georgetown. I am writing a second review because my last was in 2023 and the service is still top notch. Tina and Kevin are professional, kind, and care about the work they do. This is a small, intimate nail salon. If you're looking for an assembly line of manicurists who are just there to get through as many people as possible, go somewhere else- there are many of those places if you want speed over quality. They are a smaller, family-run salon so appointments are probably preferable (especially if you want one of the owners to do your nails). I see Tina, the owner, for dip and she is amazing! I always get compliments on my nails and recommend them to everyone. The pedicures are to die for- they take their time and give you a massage- again they are not just trying to get you out the door and turnover as many customers as possible. I see Amy and she is a goddess! Her pedicures are beautifully done, relaxing, and she is so professional. I've been to many nail salons in the North Shore and this is by far the best! It was a nice place, but they held my best friend hostage so that's a big no-no. I one time got a pink gel polish and it turned yellow.

Came here for the first time and it was an overall good experience. I called on a Saturday and was able to be seen right away which was awesome. I'm pretty sure it's one of the cheapest places in the area and I did love the way my nails came out! Tina (who seems to be the head person) was very pleasant and helpful. I was having issues finding the perfect blue and she was doing her best to help me find it. Unfortunately, the lady doing my nails was the complete opposite. She was cold and very unfriendly. Not sure if she had a problem with anything specific I did, but she seemed to be nice to everyone else and seemed very irritated by me... In the end what matters is the end result and my nails did come out good, so I guess can deal with nasty attitudes as long as I'm content with the result. It was $25 gel manicure. I will be coming back and hopefully getting Tina the next time around!! read more

I came here for a regular manicure. I think they keep their prices low in order to compete with Aria. Tammy gave me a manicure for $12! It was worth more than that. I asked her only to clean up my cuticles not to cut them. She did an amazing job. She was very gentle and sanitary. read more

So I have been here before and haven't had much of a problem until today. I went in with a very simple design and idea for my nails. Firstly, they didn't have the right shades of brown I wanted so I settled for something different which was fine. Everything is going well until it gets to the design part. I wanted a small heart on my middle fingers because of an inspiration picture I had seen before. When this mail artist continues to struggle doing it and originally showed me her first attempt (which in my opinion did not resemble a heart at all) I asked her if she could retry it since it didn't look like I had pictured. I at some point wanted to ask her to stop and just forget the design but she kept doing it anyways. Very rudely was talking under her breathe like I couldn't hear and so I felt very uncomfortable. So I unfortunately settled for it and left, but overall I was more upset about how uncomfortable they made me feel when I expressed that I didn't like the design rather then them trying to understand and finding ways for fixing it. read more

I'm a social worker and one of my clients and I came here one evening to get basic manicures. They did an ok job, though a week later my cuticles looked like they were hacked at and are WAY more ragged and hang-nail-y than when I went in. Also, my polish chipped off about three days after I got my nails done. Why this place is getting two stars though is because of an issue with payment. One of the women (not sure who) was ringing me up. She ran my card through for $24 (the price of two basic manicures. and yes, I tipped. well. and in cash.), and when the receipt went to print, nothing happened because it was out of paper. Instead of filling the paper accordingly, and not having a receipt for me, just filled the paper and then swiped my card again, before I could stop her! I told her that she had just swiped my card twice and asked if they could cancel one of the transactions. Another woman came over and said that the transaction was cancelled - though at that moment I was able to pull up my bank account app and see two transactions. She told me to call her the next day if the charge was still there which, low and behold it was. I called and told them they never actually refunded the second charge, but she kept arguing with me that it had been. When I asked her when I could expect a refund she said "oh I dunno, maybe 2 weeks?"Her argument was that the charge was actually "pending" though my bank never showed it as pending, but posted. I let it sit for a week but I never received a refund. I wound up going to my bank and they filed a claim for me and I got my money back within 24 hours. Frustrating experience. Mediocre service. Definitely other places to go in the area. read more

Walked in for a dip manicure when my normal place was closed. They were moderately busy so it took about 10 minutes to get started. Huge collection of dip colors! Everyone seemed very friendly and greeted customers by name. For me, they didn't grind down the dip enough so it looks smooth but very thick. When I asked if he could take some more off he refused bc he didn't want to remove the color. When I got in the car I noticed the tops aren't symmetrical. I would probably go back for a regular manicure but not going to spend the money on something I'm not happy with read more

The decor and atmosphere is nothing to rave about. But what really counts is the work they do on your nails and it is excellent! I get shellac manicures here on a regular basis and they are very professional and do a great job. It's a small place, I've had to wait when I didn't have an appointment if I tried to walk in during a busy time. But all the staff are great at what they do. read more

I've been here 2x in past 60 days spent $45 for pedi/gel mani I leave satisfied. I've been getting my nails done by Lee but I know that everyone is qualified. Yes the decor is outdated but the treatment and attentiveness is better than what is in Malden and Boston hands down. I will be going back in 2 weeks to get a color change. This place is overlooked for looking a bit old and small (and sketchy) from the outside, but the prices and service if you actually try it are the best in the area. I started going here after my mom told me about her successes here, and I LOVE it. I've gotten many people to convert here as well! Their $10 manicures are incredible, not to mention efficient. Shellac is $25 then $30 for french, it's $30 for a pedi and $25 for a mani/pedi. They do a great job shaping, and always have the latest OPI collection on display for sale and also for use in the salon. Great find, and such a hidden gem! The only reason I didn't give it 5 is because it's your typical nail salon, not a day spa, so the environment isn't 5-star. It's on a corner though so it feels very quaint. That's my ONLY complaint! I love this place. Tina, Kevin and staff do a wonderful job. I usually make appointments ahead of time and never have to wait long at all. They are welcoming and make the experience pleasant; I never feel rushed. The salon is very clean. I appreciate the way they open the sterilized packets of manicure/pedicure tools in front of me. I can not say enough about Nail Expressions. I probably started going there about 7-8 years ago based on yelp reviews. I am embarrassed that it has taken me this long to A. sign up on yelp (especially when they have used them to find so many amazing places) and B. to review Nail Expressions. I started, way back when, seeing Lyn who is A-MAZING! My mom loved my nails so much that she started going to them shortly after and seeing Tina. One of my best friends moved to Wakefield and was so distraught about leaving her current nail place, close to Brookline, that she would commute there every 2 weeks for a while until I introduced her to Nail Expressions. She is a loyal customer now as well as several other family members. I find it refreshing to know that my nails will always come out perfect every time. I do the pedicure and shellac manicure and both last me at least 3+ weeks. Of course there is some growth but the polish stays incredible and because I travel constantly for work, I am not easy on my nails. Sadly, I recently moved to Florida and I'm not kidding when I say that there are many things that I miss about Boston and Nail Expressions would be one of them. Every time I visit, I book an appointment so I can get my fix. There really is no place that does a better job! GO! You will not be disappointed ;) read more

I went there for a fill in mid-afternoon. I don't have much cuticles on 6 of my fingers. While my polish was drying I thought maybe the brother hadn't gone down far enough on the nail bed. I was thinking it couldn't be but when I left & the more I looked at it, I was getting a little upset over it. I showed 2 of my girlfriends & they agreed saying there's about 1/8" gap and also the line of where the fills end are obvious. So I went back the very morning & showed it to Tina & her brother. At 1st he said it was because I washed my hands & the cuticles shrank, then they both said I had pushed my cuticles down (she could tell), & then the brother said I had cut them when I went home! I didn't do anything at all to them, why would I?? I felt bad for even having to going back but to actually blame me for it was not a nice way to treated. I thought they'd redo the fills but instead Tina fixed the gaps with nail polish only which surprised me. It did look better although the line of where the fills ended became much more obvious. Not happy... By 1 week a little of the nail polish had come off below the fill lines & looked I was ready for a fill. By 1 1/2 wks I had no choice but to have a fill done elsewhere. So I disputed the charge on my credit card. A week later my credit card co. called me & said he spoke to them about my dispute & they offered a free fill. I told him that was nice of them to offer that but why didn't they offer that to begin with instead of accusing me of pushing my cuticles down & then cutting them?? I told him I'd feel very uncomfortable if I went back. He 100% agreed with me & the dispute was honored. As a 1st time customer I believe I should have been offered a free fill which would've been exactly in a week & to do a band-aid fix is not acceptable. read more

HORRIBLE!! I had Tina, first manicure in 8 years. I had beautiful, strong nails before her. After she was too busy talking to other people and not paying attention, as well as leaving me to go get food and not telling me when I could leave the dryers-my nails are now ruined. They are breaking too far back, incredibly weak, and there are streaks where she buffed it wrong. AVOID THIS PLACE! Very unprofessional, they push you to get gel when you just want a regular mani to make more money, and they are rude if you refuse. AVOID. read more

My wife got a HORRIBLE shellac French manicure. I actually feel bad she had to pay for it. The worst part was the owner did it. You'd think she'd be the best at it! Careless and supposedly was pre-occupied the entire time. Would not recommend this place at all. read more
