Just got my nails done there and I am extremely happy. All the employes are super nice and actually listen to what you want. Most places I have been to for a mani pedi only take about an hour for all of it. My pedicure was about an hour long and my feet and toenails have never looked this nice. For the manicure I also got a full set of acrylics something I usually don't do cause they never do them right for me. The gentleman I got doing my nails wouldn't take the next step unless he knew exactly what I wanted. He made my nails short, which is just the way I like them. When it came to the color I wanted a fade from blue to a glittery green, he didn't get what I wanted right away and I don't think my cold helped but I showed him a picture and he knew exactly what I was talking about. I made an appointment for 1pm they started taking care of me right before 1 and I didn't get out until 3. It was possible the best experience I have had while getting my nails done. I will be going there again. I recommend this place for everyone they truly care about the quality of their work and the people they are working for. read more

I have lived in the area for a few years and tried a couple different places before coming here based on the Yelp reviews. This place is awesome and definitely the best place I've been. I got a full set and couldn't get back for a fill for 3 weeks-- not one nail lifted! Everyone is so friendly, they even made me a hot cup of tea with a cookie because it's so cold out this morning! This place is great! The owner is super friendly, prices are low, and they do a great job. Definitely recommend the pedicure as they basically give your legs a pretty lengthy mini-massage. They also give a decent hand massage for manicures. Nail polish stays on and looks great. The salon is cute, clean and comfortable. They helped me with my big toe...as I lost my toenail from an injury about 5 months ago. It has slowly been growing back and didn't look great. After my pedicure, you can barely tell!! read more

Read the reviews and thought this place was going to be as great as I imagined it would be... it wasn't. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi. I could have done a better job with the manicure myself. It was done with no attention. The nail technician could have cared less that I was a first time customer. The place is also dingy. I felt like I had gone to someone's home who does nails on the side. Not a very welcoming business and it was also dirty. I wasn't entirely pleased and think there are better nail salons in the area. When I moved to Wakefield 18 months ago I tried Nails Plus based on yelp reviews. Best decision, Stephanie and Julie take their time and you never feel rushed. I always feel so relaxed after leaving, they give you a good massage and really clean up your nails. They listen to your request, I always ask for super short and round and that is exactly what they do. The salon is small so I recommend making an apt because if they don't have time they will turn away walk in's which I think is a plus because you know they aren't going to do a bad job and rush you to fit everyone in. I always have them pick out colors for me, Stephanie is honest and will give you her opinion, today she told me the color I picked was too old lady! After calling around and pricing it out, I found they had the best price but that was just the beginning. As mentioned by a previous yelp'er, this isn't just your basic $25 pedicure - it is a spa pedicure they take their time with scrubs and massages. The massage chairs are great and a nice bonus. Both the owner Stephanie and her awesome staff (I don't know her name but recommend her highly) are so friendly. Just went back for a mani/pedi and was not disappointed - was facing a time crunch and she banged out the rest of the manicure with precision. Had a 1 pm shellac appointment today, the service was phenomenal! Didn't have to wait to be serviced, worked with Stephanie who did a great job on my shellac! I couldn't believe that I received a 45 minute shellac manicure for $25!!! The service for the price is unbeatable! All these years later since my original review and I am still going to Nails Plus. While there is less staff than before, no services suffer as a result and each manicure (and, pedicure, too, although I don't get them) is still an hour long, with a spa-worthy sugar scrub, hand and arm massage and a good, real soak beforehand, not just a spray like some places now do. They have all the newest products, including a gazillion colors of the new powder manicure materials. Stephanie still both runs the business and does manicures or MP's, and it was just this fall that she made a modest price increase after all the years she's been in business. And even with this small increase, her prices are still a lot less than many other larger, fancier places. Want to be in and out in half an hour? Not get properly soaked and don't care if your color peels in a day or two? Then this probably isn't the place for you - but if you want to spend a relaxing hour getting a luxurious soak for both hands and toes, lean back in a comfy massage chair and have a careful, long lasting job done, then you should try Nails Plus. Conveniently located at the end of Albion almost to North Ave, there always seems to be a parking space, which isn't always the case at the other end of the street. And there's a DD just a few steps around the corner if you really need it before going in. Stephanie is a lovely woman and speaks English perfectly, so you don't have to worry about not making yourself understood. They have gift certificates too - send your husband or boyfriend in for your next birthday, anniversary or holiday present. I would never go anywhere else! read more

This place is great! I have been here 3 times so far, with long periods in between each visit but the owner always remembers me and is so friendly! This place gives the most amazing and relaxing pedicure EVER. My feet and legs got a very extensive massage, I felt like jelly after (in a good way!!) SO worth it. I recently tried shellac, they did a great job and the polish has lasted a little over 2 weeks. I usually have fairly brittle nails, and the shellac not only lasted longer but also made my nails feel thicker and stronger. It's definitely worth the extra money over a regular manicure although it does take a little bit longer. I would have been a more frequent customer, but until recently I was a bartender and constantly having wet hands and using sanitizer really did a number on my nail polish, so I just couldn't justify getting them done regularly (I can't do acrylics). Now that I have a new job I plan on going more often. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. read more

I called Nails Plus and got an appt for a pedi for 615. When I got there I think she thought I wanted a manicure, but Julie still took me. I have to say. This was the best pedicure I've gotten in a really long time. Even though I know they were closing shortly she still gave me an amazing pedicure. Over an hour! I went to the new, big, expensive place in Wakefield a few weeks before and had the worst pedicure. This was cheaper and SO much better. Will definitely be going back!! read more

I went here to get a gel set for my anniversary. After all the great reviews I thought, why not see for myself. Never again... They were very nice (at least the owner was) and I really wanted to like them, but the quality just wasn't up to par. I got a gel set, and they looked very pretty after I got them, but less then a day later, 4 of them already started chipping off... if it's gel then why is it already chipping? Even regular acrylics usually don't chip that fast. But when I called them and told them the problem they were very nice about it and took me right away to repaint them. The lady buffed off the acrylic on my middle finger and lightly buffed off the paint on the other fingers that were chipped, but she didn't put the acrylic back on, she just painted over them and those fingers looked off and all she did was add an extra coat to "fix" the problem... she already seemed like she didn't want to redo them since I wasn't paying for my nails to be repainted since like I said, they were just done the night before! So she barely put any effort into them. And later that night they chipped off again... after a week, all my nails looked like I've had them for 3 weeks! The nail color was chipped, the acrylic nail was coming up and two of my fingers had a piece missing.... after a week! And again, they were GEL... I've never had such terrible nails since I've been getting them done. I wasted almost $100 on this place and I would recommend this to no one... sad though, I really liked the owner read more

I had an excellent experience at Nails Plus - all of the employees were very friendly and accommodating. There is a great selection of colors and the woman doing my manicure did a very good job. I felt feeling very relaxed and nails lasted over a week! Also I wasn't pressured to get a pedicure or upgrade to a gel manicure like I often am at other nail places. This little nail salon is friendly and relaxing. It is a place where a new client is treated like a special friend. On a whim I decided to have a nail intervention and rescue my nails that were bitten to nubs. It was after 6:15 so relying on Yelp reviews I called a few places but only NAILS PLUS DR would take me at such a late hour. She did not rush at all; she took her time to do a perfect job even verifying I would love the color I chose after the first coat even tho it was getting close to 8 pm and I was the only one left. Upon inquiry, I learned they typically do not like to start customers after 6:30 so I consider myself very lucky that they were willing to start my very sorry looking nails at 6:45. I cannot wait to tell everyone at work about this place. They may be small but they are mighty in the attentiveness and level of customer service they provide.
