This review is more so for the tech than the business. My daughter came to have her nails filled. The tech "Hannah" proceeded to dig and rip off tips that my daughter had on most of her fingers. She did not soak the nails prior to digging them with her own fingernails and this caused alot of pain. When I brought this up to her she got very agitated and nasty. Told me that my daughter said it was ok for her to dig the tips off. First of all, this was not true. She never asked her that, secondly she was clearly not being truthful as the other lady techs were clearly very irritated with "Hannah" and reprimanding her. Her entire attitude changed after I approached her with the issue. Very unprofessional and she should be reeducated on how to properly remove any tips that are on the nails. Not only does ripping them off hurt, but it damages the nail bed. So, if you go to Nail Design, avoid Hannah! read more

This place is overpriced and overrated. I wish I knew the name of the man who did my nails. He became upset with me when I told him I wanted a basic paint on flower design and he could not do it. I told him no problem I just want a black french tip with gems. He had an attitude for the rest of the appointment, gave me white french tips. This place USED to be good once upon a time, but their customer service, pricing, and skill has gone down the drain. read more

Usually a gel manicure lasts me 2-3 weeks before it begins chipping. Started chipping in less than 24 hours and never made it to the event for which I had my nails done the day following my manicure. Waste of money! Gave 2 stars bc the manicurist was pleasant. read more

I asked for a female when I walked in and was told okay. I've had bad experiences with the males before being lazy and not caring etc. I walk back and I am given a male anyway after being told I would have a female. I didn't want to say anything because they were busy and he had already started. I wouldn't have minded waiting for a girl also. He cut my nails uneven to begin with then put the polish on without even putting a base coat! He nearly forgot a top coat as well. The whole pedicure felt so rushed and like they he wanted to be done. There was also polish all over the skin and it looked sloppy. After waiting for my toes to dry the guy who did my toes kept continuously walking around the place like he was waiting for me to get up and pay to tip him. Very disappointing for the $$. The electric file was used unnecessarily (I arrived with naked nails and haven't had a pedicure in months) I was cut and bleeding along my cuticle. The technician then poured alcohol on it...ouch! Polish is messy, nails are misshapen, I felt rushed. Had to use ATM in lobby to pay, was told they only accept cash after my pedicure was completed, no signage stating cash only in the salon. I will not return. read more

Always full but still somehow have availability for walk-ins. I usually have a standing appointment with Dawn, but any time i've brought my 3 girls with me unannounced, they find someone to help them right away, we rarely have to wait! I mention that it is typically full and that is because they are awesome. I've been to others in the last 15 years i've lived here and they just don't measure up. Dawn always does my nails just how I ask and they are high-quality without taking forever. read more

I just got a pedicure ( polish #460) when they went to do my nails, the gel polish was empty.. so she kept grabbing different colors, insisting they matched.. when she brought a dark one, she said, this matches, I replied, 'it looks blue'.. no, it's gray.. ok.. so when I walk outside.. my hands are blue, my feet are gray.. when I called to tell them, she's arguing with me that I picked the color.. First of all, the guy who did my nails did a HORRIBLE job. He was on the phone the whole time as well asking his wife to get him food. He didn't take his time at all and kept rushing to get me out. I came to a nail salon to pay for SERVICE and let me tell you that this was NOT SERVICE. The lady who did my mom's nails next to mine told her that she didn't want to shorten my mom's nails further and they ended up not even at all. My mom was not satisfied with her nails and after the lady attempted to fix it, she walked away even though my mom didn't like it. On the other hand, my nails were painted extremely thick to cover up the guy's mistakes. The acrylic part of my nail was still uneven even after he attempted to "fix it". He kept complaining that there was dust on my hands when I in fact took them in and out of the dusty nail drier. My nails also BURNED and felt extremely hot. I kindly asked him to fix it. But after, he told the lady who did my mom's nails to overcharge us in Vietnamese yet he did not know that me and my mom were able to understand them. I wouldn't normally write such a horrible review but we were completely taken advantage of. I normally pay around $65 for solid color/ no design. Here I paid around $140 including tax/ tip for my nails and my mom's manicure. I regret tipping. I am more than happy to tip for good service and work but did not feel that they deserved the tip yet tipped them anyway. I've gotten my nails done very often to know that what he was doing wasn't right and we were extremely overcharged. When we asked both techs to fix their mistakes, he complained and told me it was my fault, that I kept moving my nails, which I didn't. Absolutely terrible unprofessional customer service from the techs although the front desk lady was nice. Never coming back again. This was my second time here. If I could give this salon 0 stars I would. Not to mention it's not even been a week and my nails have grown out!! It looks like I've gotten them done a month ago. read more

I was in town from Baltimore I got my nails done with my mom for Christmas. I told my tech that I was going to Jamaica and she suggested Gel for my toes and fingers. On the day of my visit my thumb nail didn't cure properly and I had to drive from Baltimore back to Bel Air to have this fixed. I left for Jamaica a day later an another nail had begun to chip. Within in two days entire nails were peeling off. I took pictures and had my mom contact them, as I was out of the country. They suggested me coming in to have them redone. I didn't want to drive from Baltimore again to this nail salon. Owner was not willing to work with us on this matter and was extremely dismissive. My nails were $140 and I am really disappointed they didn't even last a day. I would NOT recommend going here. read more

by far the worst nails I have ever gotten. It looks like my five year old did them. they left my old gel polish on in certain spots and you could still see it through my new color . I asked them to fix it and I was told it was my skin and it will grow out. I now have nails that are crooked, uneven in shape and not properly polished for the holidays. Went there tonight with my daughter and her bridal party. My nails were just over the tips of my fingers. I asked for a trim. Well now my finger tips shows. I Asked the gentleman 2 times to fix my one nail because it was cut so crocket. so we're 3 others but I didn't want to say anything because I did now how much nail I would have left if I did. Two of my nails were cut almost to the meat of my finger. I'm glad my hands won't be in picture. Also didn't want to make a scene. read more

This place is fine, the girls at the front seem super sweet but they don't do the nails, it's the adults. I sat there for about 10 mins as a walk-in and that's not bad, then a girl came to me with a color based off a photo I showed her on pinterest. She seated me at the very end of all the tables- at a less luxurious table than the other people- then told me she'd be back and never came back. Then a man sat down and started to do my nails and I showed him the picture as well but I'm not sure what he saw... The nails are fine and he did a good job (if this was what I had asked for) but as an end result, I won't come back and I don't really care for this place. I wanted them short and square. I got short nails but they were rounded, which I dislike. My cuticles were trimmed roughly and I bled. I have been to this salon twice for a spa pedicure. The first time I had a young man who rushed to get done and never touched my heels until i spoke up, he said, "I will come back to them no worries." He did but brushed over them once, (yes once) with the file. I am one for second chances. I came back today and had a middle aged gentleman. I once again got a spa pedicure. ($50) He didn't touch my feet to exfoliate them. I spoke up, the nail tech next to him had to tell him how to do it, and it still wasn't right. My daughter got a classic pedicure $(35) and had a far better massage and exfoliating process then I did. It's very disappointing. read more

My mom came here for a pedicure today. After she soaked her feet in the tub, the lady went to drain the tub, but had to rip the plastic liner inside for the water to drain. She took a sharp tool to puncture it open and but moved to carelessly and stabbed my mom right in the bottom of the foot and she bled. It was a mistake, but nothing more then an I'm sorry was given to her. She had to sit there with a puncture in her foot and had to pay and tip at the end. No bandaid or care was given. Hopefully she doesn't get an infection. read more

I have been trying different salons since my last pedicure experiences with other local salons hasn't been great. I stopped by Nail Design on a Wednesday evening and this place was hopping. The salon is quite big with plenty of stations. I didn't have an appointment however I was taken right away. My technician was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. I had a basic pedicure although they have other pedicure services available. The technician took her time and did a good job. The salon charges a few more dollars more ($31) for a pedicure than the other salons I have been to. One thing to know is, tips are cash only and an ATM is on site. read more

Went here on a Saturday and it was PACKED. But I didn't have to wait long before being seated for a full set acrylic. My manicurist went above and beyond to find the exact shade gel color I showed her from some Pinterest photos I had brought in. In the end when compared to what I wanted, the colors of the glitter and base polish were off. But I appreciated the effort. From there it went downhill because I guess she had a regular customer come in who requested her services. So she began rushing thru my service. Then I was passed on to TWO different people to finish my nails because she wanted to wait on the other lady. The result - the acrylic overlay on my nails is way too thick, bumpy, and uneven because she didn't take the time to file/buff them before passing me off. I posted a picture with my review as reference, but it was hard to capture with my cell phone. When I run my fingers across the surface you can literally feel the dips on top. Luckily there's a Sally's right next door...I bought a nail file to even out the shape of my nails because they all looked different. The design I wanted didn't exactly look like the pic I showed, but the (third) girl who painted it was sweet and we had a nice chat about wedding plans (she's getting married too). She also explained that the Pinterest pic I showed her was actually a foil decal...so I understand why it didn't end up looking exactly like what I wanted. Been getting my nails done since I was in high school and this shop is not on my list of places to go back to. But I give one star for the cleanliness of the salon. I had my nails done here a total of 2 times. First time, I came in for a pedicure and fill for my nails. Never asked what type of pedicure I wanted and so they gave me their most expensive one. My nail tech rushed through my fingernails and of course made no conversation with me. Second visit was in October 2019, had my nails done. Polish was old and bubbled up on my nails. Room receptionist outside to show her . Spoke to David and he said they could repaint the gel. I had no time to do that again so he told me to come back to get them done. Came in today and was given the run around by female manager aka the owner and she was nothing but rude to me instead of trying to fix an issue with an unhappy client.
