Walked in last week to get my set of acrylics removed and redone. The woman doing my nails did not put on acrylic but only dip on my nails. I didn't say anything in hopes that it would be fine. I had a nail break within hours of getting them done. Then three more broke throughout the week. I went in today to get them redone and they did HORRIBLY. This is after I told them to fix it twice. I have never left a review but I would recommend going anywhere else in Bel Air except this place. read more

This was my first time here. Had an appointment, waited 30 minutes after it to get in. They are a very busy shop. They are very loyal to their regulars, two came in after me with appointment times after mine but got seen before I got called. I can see why some wait even with appointments. The staff make sure at every turn that you as a customer are happy, and will redo or change something if not. The woman next to me didn't like the colors she picked, and even though almost all nails were complete the man helping her started from scratch so that she wouldn't leave displeased. Customer service is important to them. I got almond nails (full set), some are sharp points and some are rounded, but because I got a very dark color and they're so short that that's not incredibly easily noticed. The only reason I'm not "over the moon": I called ahead and came in being told that my cost would be $25, then when I checked out got told it would be $30, after the work was done. When I left and checked my bank statement, I got charged $35. I'm not comfortable with the inconsistency in costs. *Note in response to some other reviews: Sonny is very humorous, I can see why some who overheard him might get offended but he never jokes with anyone but his regulars, who joke right back. Terrible. I brought 2 teenagers here. They say they take walk-ins for one pedicure and 2 "full sets". There was ONE person here when we got here already getting her nails done. Four employees. They weren't super friendly, but started two of us right away. My pedicure was done about a half hour later. One of my girls was still sitting. Another three customers walked in. One "had an appointment" so they started her right away. Another 2 came in, one saying she got her nails done yesterday (dip) and the top coat was already peeling. They took her also. At this point it had been over 45 minutes and my other girl hadn't been started. I said excuse me, do you know how much longer before you'll start her?? They said "everyone else had appointment, you were walk ins" and started talking to each other ferociously in their language saying "walk-in" in English every once in a while. I said excuse me, but when we came in there was one person in here and you didn't say anything about it being an hour before you could even start one of us because you had appointments coming!! We could have easily gone somewhere else and would have if we knew it would be an hour before they even STARTED one of us. I don't usually complain, I just would like to be informed if it's going to be an hour wait somewhere. Especially when two of our 3-person party are done and now STUCK here waiting ANOTHER hour for the 3rd to get done. Not to mention, it is extremely unprofessional to discuss PAYING customers in front of them just because you assume they don't speak your language. The pedicure: she basically cut my nails (VERY crooked), didn't clean or file them well, and painted. No massage, no nothing else. I tried to make small talk the entire time with NO response. Location is nice BUT.. my gel manicure was not a manicure at all. She didn't touch my cuticles with tools or oil nor did I receive a hand massage. Apparently it's an option but she didn't even ask me what I wanted. My nails looks like a 10 year old did them. Clumpy as ever (refer to pics). Then I asked if I could get my eyebrows done.. stressed to the lady that I DID NOT want waxing but I wanted threading. She said yes then proceeded to put wax on my eyebrows!! Immediately told her NO! Helen is the best! She is so personable and remember me after my very first visit. Gel manicures are $18 but do not include any cuticle maintenance. I've been a customer at Town Nails for almost 2 years. My natural nails are pretty decent so I only get the gel manicure. My daughter opts for the tips and fill in service. I've had service from each of the nail technicians and they're all very good. My personal favorite is Ven. Their prices are highly competitive. It's best to make an appointment. Small town salon? I don't know if I've ever had this experience before . Overall it was cute. Staff was very friendly and seemed to know a lot of their clients and had personal stories to them them. Lots of their nail polish brands id never heard of but they do have opi and Essie. I went in for a pedicure , $20 one of the best priced in the area. It was surprisingly through , soak cuticle cut, nail cut, scrub, and massage finally polished . Took my 2 daughters ages 10 and 14 today as well as myself. I had a gel manicure and a pedicure. My pedicure lasted all of 20 minutes from start to finish then onto my manicure where she filed my nails and painted them. No soaking of my hands, no lotion, nothing. My 10 year old had her nails filed and painted clear and a pedicure which was all finished within 15 minutes. My 14 year old had my same experience. I ended up paying a whopping 121.00 with tip. We called ahead almost 2 hours before to make an appointment, we got there and they still let 2 people ahead of us. The prices are cheap only $8 for gel but the gel only stays on for about a week. Also if there's someone next in line the person doing your nails rushes to get them done. Sometimes I'll be finished and ill have dried gel around the skin of my hands that I can't get off because they rushed so fast. So anyway as long as you're the only one in the place I guess it's okay. read more

Not very friendly service. You have to be VERY specific on what you want or they will not try their hardest. It's an extra $10 for cuticle and hand care during any manicure you get. $18 for gel manicure so I wasn't expecting great quality. I asked for an extra coat and the lady told me no. The next day my nails chipped and I went back and asked if she'd redo them for me. Only painted the chipped part and then 3 hours later it chipped again. I have been going to Town Nails for about 6 months or more and getting gel on my nails about every 2-3 weeks. I have never waited more than 10 mins, even on a busy Saturday. The color selection is huge and the price can't be beat. There have only been 1 or 2 times in the 6 months I've been going that I wasn't completely satisfied with how my nails turned out. I never pick a specific person or make an appointment before I go. Some of the girls are better than others but they all do good in my opinion. I also will say that of all of the places I've gone to get gel before, this place has the longest lasting. Mine has never started peeling up on the edges or the tops like it has in the past when I've gone elsewhere. read more

I've been going here for years and understood that it wouldn't be top notch because it is cheaper. However, lately every time I've gotten gel nails recently they're peeling up and chipping within days after getting them done. Horrible service. the boss yelled at me I paid for a pedicure and got nothing close to it. Called to let them know for future reference and they said I could get a refund, so I went back in to get my refund and they tried to charge me 12 dollars for the crappy polish job. The boss who is a man got all cocky refused to give me my money back was calling me names and threatened to call the police on me. Terrible owner! The above review is correct. The owner Sunny argues with customers. He flooded my nail bed with the color, when another staff member went to finish my nails she even remarked that they looked bad without me saying anything. When she told him I was unhappy, he basically blamed me. He even stopped her from trying to fix it. Another thing I've noticed is that they rush when there is a line. Instead of finishing a client they hop from one to the other. Basically making the manicure take double the time. read more

WORST PLACE IN BEL AIR! once I went & the girl said she did not know how to do pink and whites which is a very common request. The owner was telling her to do it anyway which made me uncomfortable. Finally the owner ended up doing it but did not file down my nails, and touch up the white, she only filled in the pink part of the nail bed. My nails were very grown out to begin with so when she was done they were like giant witch nails! I was very disappointed. I started using a new place & I was very happy with them. A few months ago I wasn't able to book ahead w/ that salon so I decided to try Town nails again. I was 9months pregnant at the time and wanted to get them done before the baby arrived. I sat down with Maria. She tried to wipe off my polish & I told her it was shellac. She seemed VERY annoyed that it was gonna take a little more effort to remove my polish. she asked me where I went to get my nails done last. When I told her I went to mindys, she told me she couldn't help me and to go back to mindys!! She literally kicked out a 9month pregnant girl! I was shocked and embarrassed! I have been going here for about 6 months now and I love it! I started with Shellac manicures and switched to gel tips. My nails always look great. Even though they are just simple french gels, I have been complimented multiple times on my nails. I love Kim and Lilly but, all the staff are always friendly, they make it a point to learn peoples names. I have had pedicures and eye brow waxes here too--- never a complaint. I got a full set of acrylic french manicure. The owner Sonny did my nails and it's not even 2 days afterward and my designs are almost completely off, the white part of the nail is now turning a creamy yellow color and i have all these scratches and speckles through the gel part. Worse place ever! My daughter got a manicure, regular polish, Monday, but Monday night several nails had peeled off completely , I was out of town, went back today. Explained what happened.. owner saids "we no guarantee polish more then 24 hours" Really! Seriously.. 24 hours.. not a way to run a business! Will never patronize this business again!!!! Me and my sister had made an appointment for 10:30...we weren't seen until 12:30.Overbooked and over crowded. Also, while we were getting our nails done one at a time of course the workers got into a huge screaming fight in front of everyone and the owner had to break it up. I got my nails done here today at around 11:45 and I waited a little while however that's not my issue at all. When I was finally helped I was rushed through. She barely filed my nails and I asked her to make them square and file them down and she didn't understand me whatsoever. I followed Maria, the owner, from another nail salon, she was so good. I have gotten manicures (regular, gel and acrylics), pedicures, waxing and eyelash extensions. She is the best. Her new salon is quite far from my home now, so sometimes I go to someone closer, but I am always disappointed. When Maria does my pedicure, it lasts at least a month. It will start growing out before it chips. When I mentioned this to her, she said it is because other places hurry - they slap on coat after coat without waiting for each coat to dry. And she's right. Her manicures and pedicures always last longer than when I get them anywhere else. So she's very honest. And she doesn't cut corners. And their prices are right in line with everyone else. Especially for lash extensions, they are very cheap. I priced them at a high-end salon and it was about $240 for initial extensions. Here they are $60 and $30 for fill-ins, and they do a fantastic job. Maria is also a magician with eyebrows. I am very picky about my eyebrows and she does the best job I have ever had with them. And it's a nice, friendly, relaxing place. They are busy, but they don't hurry and make you feel rushed the way I have felt at other salons. It is a relaxing experience. I would trust her or anyone who works for her with any type of service more than I would anyone else. I only wish they were closer to my house! read more

I was in town nails earlier today, mind you I'm trying to figure out what nail salon I can call home because I've bounced around to many and i can't seem to find one that satisfies me however town nails isn't the place for me. I came in for a fill in for my acrylics and I had two nails missing. I also had gone three weeks without a fill so as you can imagine they were pretty grown out. The lady doing my nails did a fine job and I was satisfied until I went to pay. The fill in price was 15$ and my total was 24$ I questioned why that was the total when a FULL set was 25$. They proceeded to tell me that two nails missing is 5$ and a cut down is 4$. So your telling me that it's 4$ to get my regrowth shortened and 5$ for every two nails missing? Why wouldn't I just file my own nails down and take all of my previous nails off to get fresh ones for the same price as a fill. The lady gave me such attitude and told me this is how pricing is everywhere and I just think that's ridiculous, talk about ripping people off. I won't be a returning customer. read more
