I went to Nail Blvd at the end of October for the first time while looking for a new nail salon in the area. The place I usually go to near my home in Thousand Oaks does a decent job, but the staff is rude and unfriendly, so I decided to try somewhere new. Important detail: my Gel-X set was done at a different salon. When I first went to Nail Blvd, Kevin was doing a refill, not a full set. That first refill was good. Kevin was really nice, the salon was clean and pleasant, and my nails held up just fine. I left thinking I might have found a new spot. Two weeks ago, I went back again for another refill, and whatever was done this time was completely different. Four days later, my left pinky nail broke off and took my natural nail down really low. It hurt. I called and Kevin told me I could come in and he would fix it, but I didn't have time to go back right away. After that, everything fell apart. One by one, my nails started bending, breaking, and ripping my natural nails. They were incredibly soft and flimsy. Every time I scratched my leg or did anything normal, the nails would bend and then break, damaging my real nails underneath. It was honestly the worst nail experience I've ever had in my life, and I'm 45 years old and have been getting my nails done for a very long time. I don't know what was done differently the second time, but it clearly wasn't the same as the first refill. Kevin is a nice guy and the salon itself is nice, but the quality of that second visit was unacceptable. I won't be going back. Thankfully, a friend recommended another place in Newbury Park that I went to today, and it was the best nail job I've ever had. I've officially found a new nail salon. Consistency matters. The first refill was fine. The second was a complete disaster. Based on that, I do not recommend Nail Blvd. read more

Wow I'm so impressed by the service and results from Nail Blvd! Decided to try a new place yesterday and I'm so glad I did. I'm obsessed with how my nails turned out and the pedicures was one of the best ever! The massage was actually good, too! I was so relaxed. They also have big TVs that play movies while you're getting your nails done, which I loved because I usually get super bored when I'm getting my nails done at other places. Lastly, their massage chairs seem really high quality and gave me one of the better back massages compared to other places I've been to. Will definitely be coming back regularly! read more

Oh man. 2 hours and $120 later: Hilariously bad pedicure and gel on my fingers. I understand that my fingernails are short and nail techs don't like this; but considering tiny toes get painted fine (usually), I try not to think short nails are that crazy. Anyway, I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I also paid for message and callus removal. The gels look ok with the exception of some left on my fingers that I'll have to file off. The pedicure looked SO BAD though. I thought they weren't finished and kept waiting, haha. I didn't want to complain with other customers there. I'm hoping for a refund. Pictures for reference: for the toes, the reddish pink is by Nail Blvd and very oily in consistency and lumpy. Just unwearable for open toe shoes that I have for an event tomorrow. I removed theirs and repainted my toes the purple color once I got home. Both toe polishes are by OPI, so I'm not sure if their polish was mixed with something. Very strange! read more

VISIT DURING COVID I came here because of good reviews. Everything started very good. They took me in even tho I was walk-in. They ask me to fill up some questionnaire and we started. I came during day time so they didn't had many people. The lady start taking out my gel polish with file and then some customer walk in and she left me for 20 minutes. I said ok I can wait but I felt weird that she abandoned me in the middle. Some gentleman came and continue to work on my nails. Music was relaxing, place looked clean, I love their selection of colors and everything was perfect until he start putting the gel on my nails. First of all he start taking excessive gel from my skin with his SHARP NAIL EDGE. EWWWW WHO DOES THAT DURING COVID?? It was painful and unprofessional and he did that for every single nail but I tried to relax and not be negative until I saw my nails. IT WAS A DISASTER. I came in with such a beautiful nails and I left with uneven shape, each nail was different length, and bumps from his drill. The cuticle area looked horrible and uneven gel . Quality is very bad I woudnt pay for this nails even $20 but I left paying $45 with tip ( I usually pay for amazing quality nails $40) this place have high prices and 0 quality. He put so many layers of gel that I got tired. I am sorry but this will not work out for people who know how acrylics should look like. Definitely go and see Kevin and Linda at Nail Blvd. I was leaving for Europe the next day and they called and got me in same day (even though it was a holiday weekend in the states). I was running just a few minutes late from work and they called to confirm I was still coming (very politely) and then we're literally waiting at the chair for me when I arrived. They went above and beyond in both my nail care and making sure I was comfortable. I am very picky about my nails being perfect and didn't even have to tell them to adjust anything as they had me check if I liked the shape, color, massage, throughout the process. They have survived a fire and Covid and are a small family business. This salon checks all the boxes, GREAT product (gel mani pedi), great service, clean salon, great prices and a small family business. Go see Kevin and Linda. You won't be disappointed. read more

I saw some bad reviews but tried to consider the good ones and take them with a grain of salt. I paid $85 for something I didn't ask for, plus $15 tip. Yes, I should have said something but I also should just have a good outcome. I haven't gotten my nails done in years, I do my own using the same stuff they use. I wanted to get a brown color with gold/brown chrome I picked a brown polish and a brown chrome, the lady said I needed to do black polish to get that look- totally fine! Once the black was on I had a feeling I should just say let's stick with black since the chrome she has out was silver, but I trusted the process. She put it on and said see, it's perfect... if I had asked for silver, yes. She also said, "this is why you pay so much, it's so much work." My nails are lumpy, thick, and the wrong color. I don't think she thought I would pay well because when I left and gave her the tip then she asked if I wanted water, on my way out, and was much friendlier.. If you don't mind that the nails are lumpy and are willing to say something and have it redone, than I am sure it's not too bad read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! Linda and Henry are the BEST and nicest people! They actually know you and remember you. They ask me about my job and family and it's so nice to be recognized! This place takes their time with your nails. They thoroughly clean and prep the nail before painting. I always walk away satisfied. They use sanitary practices, tub liners, and are all about ensuring your comfort. There are many nail places that will try to get you out as quickly as possible but nail Blvd takes their time and I appreciate that. read more

I tip 20% no matter what but unfortunately, I was not happy with the quality of my manicure/pedicure. I got the gel manicure and a regular pedicure and it was kind of done messy and the nail polish application was uneven. I decided to give this spot a try due to a time constraint and it being on the way- the reviews looked promising but I did not receive quality service. I will be sticking to my regular nail spot. I hate to give such a negative review but I am not satisfied with the way my nails came out given how much I spent. Maybe it was just a bad day. read more

I had a horrible experience when returning here. This is a reason why I left the first time. My fingers are burning and hurt after the lady who did my nails missed each of my cuticle. She had put on her glasses and was still unable to see where she was filing and injured each finger. Proof is in the photos. Never again. Don't bother coming here. The location is clean and efficient. Generally people there are very friendly, and they have a great color selection! I feel bad writing a suboptimal review because my toes turned out PERFECT (and I feel horrible that I don't remember the name of the manicurist who did them, she was lovely!!). I am very happy with my gel toes. However, Henry did my gel nails and I'm sorry but they turned out pretty poorly. The texture looks like there's little craters in it, and he left polish all over my hands. He seemed a little stressed and in a hurry, so maybe just an off day. I got a gel manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax here and was very pleased with all my services. Jacky did my nails and Julia did my pedicure. Both were very kind and meticulous with their work and the results were great. Linda did my eyebrows exactly to my preference. The interiors aren't anything fancy, but the place and the tools were clean. The callous removal was 10 dollars extra which I did not mind since it worked quite well. The pedicure was a lot more extensive with massaging than typical which I appreciated. Overall, I will definitely be coming back.
