I had a very disappointing experience with this doctor as my primary care physician. During my…read moreappointments, I consistently felt that he was in a rush to leave. He rarely asked enough questions about my concerns and did not give me adequate time to ask questions before trying to end the visit. One experience in particular was extremely frustrating. I called his office to schedule an appointment because I was experiencing significant stomach issues. The appointment was apparently scheduled as a "General Checkup." When I arrived, he asked me a few very general health questions, none of which addressed the stomach problems that prompted me to make the appointment, and then proceeded to leave. When I tried to stop him and explain the stomach issues I was experiencing, he told me that because I had booked a "General Checkup," that was all I was going to get during the appointment. I was genuinely shocked by this response, especially since I had explained my reason for scheduling the appointment when I called the office. I left feeling that the appointment category and billing considerations were being prioritized over understanding and addressing my health concerns. As a patient, I expect my primary care doctor to listen, ask appropriate questions, and show genuine interest in the health concerns I bring to an appointment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Dr Agolini really has such an amazing demeanor with his patients. Every time I met with him he…read moreasked multiple times if I had any other questions he could answer for me. His waiting room was full for both my office visits but that is to be expected with someone performing as many operations as he is. I only waited 20 min the second time I was there. I think a routinely empty waiting room might be kind of a bad sign for a surgeon actually. By the time I met with him I had been having gallbladder attacks for 7 months. I really really wanted to avoid surgery and prefer alternative therapies whenever possible but it just wasn't working and I had already lost a significant amount of weight from trying to avoid triggering a gall bladder attack. I scheduled a consult with Dr. Agolini after a coworker recommended him from his appendix surgery. I had already met with another surgeon but did not get a good feeling about him. When I called Dr Agolini's office Brenda said I could come in the next day but there would most likely be a wait to see him; I was just happy to get in on such short notice. While I was waiting one of the other patients had to leave for work before he was able to get in to see him. He had made his appt the day before like I had. Dr Agolini came out into the waiting room to ask him if he wanted to come in now for a few minutes and apologized profusely for the wait. I had never seen this behavior before from any doctor. My consult went well and I could tell he takes great pride in his work and treats his patients with respect. I felt much better about my surgery knowing he was performing it. After my consult I met 2 other people at the dog park that had their surgeries performed by him and everyone had great things to say. My surgery went well, I can eat again (pain-free)! and the incisions are incredibly small. I had a slightly longer recovery than some but it is surgery and they are cutting through your abdominal wall so recovery time will vary and it isn't something to worry about. My dad told me about 20 times how he went camping the day after his gallbladder removal so I guess I was expecting to be ready for a marathon the next day :)

Excellent Surgery... Abysmal Follow-up…read more I saw Dr. Agolini for a hernia repair and had a great experience. However, 2 years later I returned with severe pain at the surgery site, worried the repair had failed due to a recent pregnancy. That consult was the worst I've ever had. Dr. Agolini was defensive and dismissed my symptoms as "psychosomatic," explaining the term (which I already knew) in a patronizing, mansplaining way. This kind of dismissal of young women in medicine is far too common, and the experience was genuinely traumatizing. I had to push just to get a CT scan referral. While he is highly skilled technically, and had a great bedside manner during the original procedure, he did not treat my follow-up concerns with respect. His ego seemed bruised at my suggestion that the repair might have failed. (By the way, It turned out the pain was NOT in my head, which, again, I already knew. I later received a diagnosis from a different doctor for a separate condition and was treated for it.)

Let's start with the basics. Corey Wallach, MD, is a U.S. board-certified orthopedic surgeon with…read morefellowship training in spine surgery. He completed his medical degree at an accredited U.S. medical school, followed by a full orthopedic surgery residency and an advanced spine surgery fellowship focused on both degenerative and complex spinal conditions. His clinical practice centers on disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, spinal deformity, and traumatic conditions. Dr. Wallach is trained in both traditional open and minimally invasive spine techniques and performs procedures such as lumbar and cervical fusions, interbody fusion procedures, decompressions, and motion-preserving surgeries when appropriate. He has hospital privileges at major regional medical centers and participates in multidisciplinary spine care teams involving pain management, rehabilitation, and neurology. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Wallach has been involved in academic and professional activities typical of fellowship-trained spine surgeons, including participation in continuing medical education, adherence to evidence-based surgical guidelines, and engagement with national orthopedic and spine societies. His credentials reflect formal surgical training, specialty board certification, and focused expertise in operative and non-operative management of spinal disorders. Here are the FACTS in my case. First, if you can get an appointment you're having a lucky day. Under normal circumstances he is booked beyond measure, but agreed to take on my case (however that happened is something to be grateful for). My back/spine were bad, seriously bad. After 8+ years of pain and agony, it looked like I had caught a break! Scheduling me ahead of others (I don't know how many) and teaming up with another highly respected surgeon, I finally received approval and had my surgery last week. He spent a lot of time before surgery in pre-op, explaining the surgery and the risks. He answered every question patiently. He wasn't rushed, he was purposeful. When my daughter had questions, he called her. He checked up on me while I was in the hospital and when I got home. The bottom line, for me, is that I am now pain-free, doing moderate PT as required, and feeling the best I have ever felt in YEARS. Of course, every situation is different. But when it comes to having "the gift", you want someone with Dr. Wallach's experience and expertise fixing your spine. ....now Medicare, pay the man!!! :)
