I messaged Dr Kohatsu on the portal about the machine not there. Asked if there was another place. The Assistant messaged me back telling me to find a location and let them know. I called my insurance for a location a few days later I received info. So, I sent the info on the portal. Then I get a message from Jaynie telling me to get a fax number. Disheartening Experience with Dr. Li Fan…read more I don't usually leave reviews for non food experiences, but I felt it was important to share my experience with Dr. Li Fan so that other expectant mothers know what to expect. Throughout my pregnancy, I often felt more judged than supported. Dr. Fan was very strict about weight gain and repeatedly emphasized that gaining more than 25 pounds was "excessive." Every pregnancy is different, and instead of encouragement or tailored advice, I often felt criticized for not fitting her idea of a "textbook" pregnancy. I was also required to complete multiple non-stress tests (NSTs) at a location that did not accept my insurance. When I brought this up, I was told I had no choice but to get the tests done there. It felt unfair and added more unnecessary stress during an already emotional time. My postpartum experience was equally disappointing. At my 6-week checkup, I mentioned that I had been celibate since giving birth and plan to continue without birth control, and Dr. Fan responded, "Men don't like to wait. They have needs." I was at a loss for words, the comment felt dismissive and inappropriate, especially during such a sensitive and vulnerable time. After my delivery (March 2025) , I also waited much longer than expected to be discharged. Dr. Fan didn't come by my hospital room until around 5-6 p.m. the day i was supposed to be discharged, which unnecessarily delayed my discharge and added stress during a time when I just wanted to be home with my baby. While I'm sure Dr. Fan has patients who appreciate her straightforward approach, my experience left me feeling unheard and unsupported. Compassion, understanding, and sensitivity are essential in women's healthcare. Unfortunately, those qualities were missing in my experience with Dr. Li Fan.

This is kind of lengthy and not necessarily negative however, i want to share my experience in…read morehopes it may help someone else who finds themselves in a similar situation. Back in 2022, after struggling with very heavy periods for years, Dr. Fan was able to diagnose me with multiple uterine fibroids. I had surgery shortly after, and the care I received during that process was excellent. Fast forward to 2025--I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant. I was very early, about four weeks along, and had to wait for my first ultrasound. A couple of weeks later, I began bleeding heavily and feared I was miscarrying. I called the office, had blood work done, and was told my HCG levels were high. When I repeated the test two days later, the office relayed through a front desk coordinator that my levels had "dropped" and I was miscarrying. This was incredibly difficult news to hear, and I later saw in my chart that my levels had not dropped significantly. I also feel strongly that sensitive information like this should always come directly from a licensed medical professional, not front office staff. When I returned for an ultrasound to make sure the miscarriage was progressing as expected, I was shocked and overwhelmed to learn that I was still pregnant--about 9 1/2 weeks along. The ultrasound also showed a large subchorionic bleed, though I was reassured that these often resolve on their own. I was prescribed progesterone and began taking it immediately, which initially helped, but when the bleeding worsened again and I asked to be seen urgently, I was told I would need to wait a couple of days for the next available appointment. Unfortunately, I miscarried that night at 10 weeks. I still carry many "what ifs" about whether pushing harder for immediate appointments or additional intervention could have made a difference. This is not meant as a purely negative review, but as encouragement to others: if you are pregnant and experiencing heavy bleeding, advocate strongly for yourself. Request to speak directly with your doctor, insist on being seen, and make sure your concerns are heard. While I remain grateful for the care I received in the past and for Dr. Fan's role in diagnosing and treating my fibroids, I've unfortunately lost a lot of trust during this experience. I am hopeful that by sharing my story, the office may be able to use it as a learning opportunity to improve communication and patient care and possibly help save someone else from experiencing a miscarriage in the future.

I didn't feel like he was ever rushing out appointments which was nice. I also liked that he wasn't too over the top with lots and lots of ultra sounds if it wasn't necessary. I was referred to Dr…read more Capetenakis by a functional medicine doctor, and was hoping that by establishing care with a "boutique medical practice", I would get the care that I so desperately needed. Long story short, I ended up having an excision surgery for Stage IV Endometriosis, and it was so bad that I also ended up needing a bowel resection. For being told multiple times during my visits that my pain was due to ovulation, my fibroids weren't an issue (he had women with 12cm fibroids get pregnant), and that the developing cysts on my ovaries were nothing to be concerned about, it was a genuine shock that my situation was so dire. My doctor that did the excision surgery shared that I had a life expectancy of 5-6 years if I had not been treated. With regard to the office experience, it is a shock that his office does not send out appointment reminders. According to his staff, they are too small. Given that my dog groomer, acupuncturist, and my therapist all manage their own schedules and send automated appointment reminders without issue, that is definitely an area of improvement. Especially when I was charged a $50 no show fee for an appointment that I never scheduled. All in all - they tried. However, when a patient is far too complex they should be referred out to another provider, not told that everything is fine and to move on. If it were his family, I doubt he would have taken the same approach as he did with me.

I've met Dr. Hinshaw once and he was nice, but his office manager Betty and medical assistant need appropriate training on how to communicate with their patients. Not only did the office have lack of communication with me on the tests I've ordered, but now advising me I need to pay out pocket to re do a test because it was not done correctly on their end and advised me their office has specific protocols when ordering test( keep in mind I don't know their protocols as being the patient) and trying to blame me for their error and expecting their members to know their office protocols. Also it's really difficult to get ahold of anyone by phone besides the RN to go over any questions I have. This is my second child and I did not experience this type of service ever with my previous OBGYN . I also work in the medical field and being the patient with this office, I do not recommend!

Full transparency - This review has nothing to do with the medical staff here. They could be…read moreamazing, but I honestly have no idea because I was never able to make an appointment. I first called on May 13th, 2025. Between then and May 29th, 2025 I called a total of 16 times. Most of the time, I was placed in a queue where I was typically the first or second caller waiting, and then would be re-routed to a message center. At first, I would leave a message to get a call back, but would never hear from anyone, so I resorted to just continually calling until I got through to an actual person. While this person was pleasant enough, they let me know that the appointment coordinator would have to be the one to get me set up. I would then have to repeat the process of providing my name and contact information, and was told the message would be relayed to said coordinator and they would be in contact. I have never been contacted by this facility, and I honestly stopped trying after the 29th. It is now June 5th, 2025 and I would be SHOCKED if someone ever did get back to me if I am being completely honest. During this time, I went through some things medically that I won't get into, but because I did and was desperately trying to get seen by this facility with no return response, I felt so dehumanized. Even after explaining what had happened and what my needs were (when I could actually talk to a person), it was like I just didn't matter enough to call back. I'm so disappointed because I felt like a few of the doctors on site could be the right fit for not just what I was currently dealing with, but for my future family planning as well. And now I will never know because the system they have in place to even get an appointment is horrific. Save your time and your sanity, and try somewhere else, because chances are you won't hear back from anyone. And if you do...go buy a lotto ticket with that luck. UPDATE JUNE 12TH 2025 - the office literally just reached out to me today, basically one month after I began initial outreach, to try to set up an appointment. At this point, I have already established care with another provider as I needed to be seen immediately. When I explained that I had done so after not hearing back, the only response back was "Oh OK, thank you". No apology for reaching out so late after the fact; not even an attempt of an excuse. I suppose the only silver lining from the situation is that I did ultimately end up with a different provider who genuinely cares and communicates effectively with me.

I still have not heard back from this office over one month after requesting to schedule an…read moreappointment. If it is this difficult for something as simple as getting on the schedule, I shudder to think how difficult it will be to actually receive timely quality care. No interest in finding out.
