As a huge fan of Veranda, I've followed the various members of the original team and their movements. Last time I was in town the chef had left Vernada and had the original Nage in the old town, but it was unfortunately closed the day I was available... cut to present day i am seeing their new space. It's in a neighborhood that looks completely residential. You need to walk into this large courtyard and banh thete is a restaurant and some other businesses...
Very large open space, outside seating...it really is beautiful. They inherited a wood fired oven from the previous pizza place and has combined it into their cooking. The bread, a signature chixken dish, beef and others are excellent with the smoke of the fire. A mangalista pig rillete, oosterschelde lobster and many other things made their way...so delicious. Though very different cooking than Veranda, it is no less tasty. Worth seeking out in the quieter part of Antwerp for sure read more
