I went to Dr. Sadeghi to have a small, benign tumor removed from my neck. At the first office visit, he was able to tell me in great detail all about what the surgery would be like, the risks of having (and not having) the surgery, and what I could expect in terms of recovery. It was great that he specializes in neck surgery, so he had done this operation many times before. It helped give me a lot of confidence in him. The office also seemed organized, which I appreciate. My health insurance requires "pre-certification" before surgery, and I thought I would have to call the doctor's office several times to remind them, but they did it before I even asked.
This was the first time I've ever had major surgery (been under general anesthesia), and I was nervous, but it was actually fine. Everybody at G.W. University Hospital was really nice, reassuring, and able to answer all of my questions (sample question: "How long is the needle in the IV? If I bend my arm too much, will it, like, poke through something it shouldn't?" answer: "There's actually no needle, it's just a plastic tube, so you can bend your arm as much as you want." the more you know...).
And as a perennial pedestrian, of course I have to mention how convenient it is that Dr. Sadeghi's office (G.W. Medical Faculty Associates) as well as the hospital are right at the Foggy Bottom metro station. read more
