I highly recommend Dr. Vaidya to anyone with issues with their retina. I was referred to him by my ophthalmologist as they saw an issue with my eyes during the yearly exam. He was able to get me in immediately and helped allay my fears. You don't have to wait 4 months for an appointment and he's accepting new patients. He is very patient and explains everything to you in layman terms and gives you time to ask all your questions. I never feel rushed in his office. He doesn't "mansplain" like some doctors do which is why I've recommended him to all my friends and family. He also gives you his honest opinion about next steps and won't recommend invasive procedures unless absolutely necessary. In my case, he recommended not to have any surgery but to continue to monitor. There is plentiful parking. The office is clean and well maintained and the front staff is great! read more

Super happy I brought my father here. Dr. Vaidya is super thorough and patient. He looked through all the imaging from the previous years and explained all of my father's conditions and options in a way that we could both understand. He didn't rush my father into any decisions, took into account what my father's goals and concerns were, and gave us a good plan for moving forward. Dr Vaidya is smart, personable, and empathetic. He takes all the time you need at every appointment to answer any and all questions thoroughly, and never makes you feel rushed or like you're just another number on his schedule that day. He remembers you and your issues, which is pretty cool. He also tells it like it is regarding your condition and treatment options, without any embellishment to persuade you one way or another. He gives you the facts and leaves all decisions in your hands. You never feel like he's pushing you to make money. I had a retinoschesis in my right eye, and he kept it under observation for several years, never pressuring me to undergo a procedure for it because he said it wasn't truly medically necessary. When the retina finally started detaching, he said it was time, and was even happy to give me a referral to another retinal surgeon for a second opinion. I went to that guy, Dr Brent Norman in Newport Beach, and even though he was older and grayer than Dr Vaidya (more old school experience), his cold, mechanical attitude just didn't connect with me. I scheduled my reattachment procedure with Dr Vaidya, it went flawlessly, and my recovery went exactly as he said it would. I followed his post-op instructions to the letter (and even more strictly, keeping my head facing down for a week), and now 8 months later my vision in both eyes is virtually exactly where it was before my retina issue -- and with no cataract because I followed his aftercare instructions religiously. Today I went to see him, 6 months after my last post-op checkup, and he gave me a big thumbs up. He told me to schedule a follow-up appointment 1 year from now... or he said even 2 years if I get busy because things are looking perfect. Not money-hungry at all, love it! And his reception staff and ophthalmology / retinology assistants (don't know their title) are super friendly and nice, too. read more

I was referred to Dr. Vaidya after a visit from my optometrist. I have high myopia and my recent visit showed possible peripheral retinal changes. I was very happy with my visit and felt that the health of my eyes was in good care. Dr. Vaidya is very professional, patient and knowledgeable. He took the time to review my concerns and was thorough in asking about my health history and family history. My exam was detailed and Dr. Vaidya's explanations were very straightforward and informative. There was no push for extra procedures, but rather a good layout of one's conditions and treatment options. The entire process was pleasant and put my mind at ease. I am currently a patient of Dr Nadeem Vaidya. I never felt rushed he explain everything me about my Retina with clear images on a large digital monitor. I was in bad shape my blood pressure and diabetes on my first visit. When he examined my eyes the problems of my left eye in color images made it easy to understand. The Ophthalmologist recommend to me, he gave me the Pros and Con told me anything that worried me, I didn't know how much he didn't tell me. Only I will see much better once I have the carat surgery that did not happen, I am blind in my left eye. Dr Vaidya is treating my left eye and keeping check my right eye. Hindsight being 20/20 I will never make this mistake again I'm in good hands now. Dr. Vaidya have my chart available online which is very valuable to have access at anytime. In my opinion Nadeem N. I am so grateful to Dr. Nadeem for his wonderful care and impeccable professionalism. I had a eye test when I got glasses and the "lens crafter mall doctor" said there was some sort of abnormality that could possibly be melanoma cancer which was completely terrifying to me. I made an appointment and went to see Dr. Nadeem. When I got to the office he took his time with me, did all the proper tests and assured me that there was absolutely no sign of any cancer. Beware this doctor and the Barranca Surgery Center. Dr. Nadeem N. Vaidya has excellent skills and bedside manner. However, if something goes wrong, he will not back you up. I had him do a procedure where he sticks small tools into the eyeball and scrapes scar tissue off the retina. During the surgery at the Barranca Surgery Center someone threw a bottle or something hard into a metal garbage receptacle which as you can imagine made a loud report sounding much like a gun shot. Now remember this was in a very quiet operating room environment. The sound startled the doctor and me as I was only under local anesthesia so I saw the doctors whole body wiggle with surgical tools in my eye. Bottom line is I have a blind spot in that eye which I noticed the very next day. I wanted to sue the Barranca Surgery Center so something like this would never to anyone else. I felt the person who through the object just was not thinking, and I wanted management to caution its people that the actions they take can cause serious damage. Not being litigious I did not know how to go about the task and did not know there is a one-year limit for filing a case. I finally did talk to a lawyer and he told me that if the doctor would testify in my behalf that we had a very good chance of winning this case. I spoke with the doctor about it and told him I was not interested in suing him but only the Barranca Surgery Center, but he right away started making excuses like I had glaucoma or this or that. First if he thought I had glaucoma then that would make him irresponsible for operating on me. Second glaucoma does not happen in one day and has different symptoms than I have. Fritz K read more

Not only he is an amazing and highly talented retina specialist, but he is also a caring human being whom you trust completely starting from the moment he enters the room. I wish I can give Dr. Nadeem ten stars ! I came in to see him earlier than my intended appointment day because I had a feeling that I should see him earlier based on my symptoms. The front desk was very nice to fit me in. Dr. Nadeem was so knowledgeable and kind. He was patient was all my questions and so considerate with my concerns. He wanted to run some blood work to be thorough and rule out any possible issues. I was so surprised when he called me after hours when he was told by the front desk that I had called about some test result and was worried. And although he was not in the office that day, he still called me to reassure me and explained the results. He was honest if there was something he wasn't sure of and suggested I speak with my other Doctor. This takes a both humble and confident physician to acknowledge. I have been a retinal patient of Dr Vaidya's for several years. I highly recommend him. He is very patient and explains what he's seeing in your eyes, what treatment, if any, he recommends & why. His disposition is confident but very down to earth & sincere. He uses the latest technology-iPad that he can show you your eye photos & compare each visit to visit. His phone system works well and they have an option for text appt reminders or offers of earlier appointments due to cancellations. He's pretty prompt & on schedule. He puts me at ease at times when I'm anxious about vision changes/loss. The office looks new, is very clean & well equipped. The staff is very competent & friendly & they handle insurance pre-authorizations like the pros they are. I've had these eye issues for nearly 20 years & have found that most other retinal specialists are arrogant and the wait for appointments is often months. read more
