After contemplating trying this place for months, I was encouraged to try it out by a friend who had been before on taco tuesday. I went on a Tuesday for discounted tacos and for a large horchata. Service was extremely slow; the cashier barely communicated in a way that was welcoming or audible. I understand the existence of language barriers but facial expressions speak louder than words. At the time of my arrival, there was only one other person in the restaurant at the time so I assumed I would get my TWO tacos and horchata within a reasonable timeframe. To my dismay, the staff prioritized all of the pickup orders prior to even starting mine. I decided to look past that because those individuals might have called-in their orders before I arrived. It wasn't until other people started coming in an ordering large amounts of food that I realized that they were prioritizing big orders. This did not make sense to me, seeing as though I only ordered three items. Here's the kicker: the cashier kept my debit card during my entire wait time and then another cashier charged my card again because the first one got my order wrong, without informing me. I was handed three receipts and lost in confusion. I then proceeded to ask about my order; I had been waiting for about 30 minutes. The cashier informed me that she hands out orders in the order that she receives them from the cook, not in the order in which they were placed. In that moment, I knew I would never return. I received no apologies and the waitress even looked annoyed that I even bothered to ask a question. When I finally received my food, I was completely and utterly disappointed. The horchata was mediocre and not at all sweet. The tacos tasted weird and the shells were eigher stale or overcooked, but hardened soft shells nevertheless. Never again. read more
