An unexpected urgent care visit led my family and I to this indoor public market. As we were…read moreleaving the urgent care to head to our airbnb in Mason, we saw the public market sign, reminiscent of the Seattle Public Market sign. We initially decided to drive past by but since we were in the area, we decided to give it a try and actually go inside. Glad that we did. We had lunch at Fire, did a flight of wines at Jones of Washington, bought cheese at the Cheesemonger, had gelato at Ice and topped it with a london fog from Cafe Columbia.

Whether you're looking for a fine wine, a cheese to pair with it, some sliced meats to construct a charcuterie board, fresh honey, olives and olive oil, or just a bite to eat and a cocktail, Pybus Public Market has something for you. Being from out of town, the Pybus Public Market was one of the first places of interest I spotted in Wenatchee on Yelp, and I knew it was the sort of place that would interest my wife and I. This place is the sort of community hub that takes the best of what a city or town has to offer, and presents it attractively in one neat, concise package, appealing to locals and tourists alike. My only strike against it would be wishing that it was larger, and even more comprehensive!

We get…read morea small box for our family of three (was two) and we have been so happy to get the best summer fruits in our boxes. First off, their sign-up and pick-up is easy and done online through Farmigo. Their CSA subscription is flexible in that you can put a delivery hold and get credit back. Their customer service is very responsive.... and best of all, you get to enjoy the best summer fruits like cherries, plums, peaches, and nectarines! They do a great job informing you what's in the box, and what's going on at the farm and give you notice when the boxes are delivered to your pick-up location. I appreciate the transparency in their communication. This year, for the first time, they partnered with another farm for berries. We jumped on that since my toddler can consume so many berries. However, maybe due to the weather this year, the berries were quite disappointing in sweetness and size. About three weeks in, my husband and I decided we wouldn't get the berry next summer. Well, Collins Family Orchards sent an email shortly after saying they were not of the quality they were expecting and refunded us for the remainder. I appreciate their proactiveness. It made it so I had more confidence in getting the berries again if it is offered next year.

Shame on Collins Family…read moreOrchards for having such poor selection in fruit and actually selling sub quality fruit today at the Lake Forest Park Farmers Market. I understand that vendors have to follow COVID restriction guidelines by selecting produce for the customers, but we should be able to trust that quality selections will be made on our behalf. I was buying 1 pound of Rainier cherries today which are $7/lb - not cheap but worth it. Over half of the cherries these two gals selected were spotted, bruised, had those weird little appendages and just looked bad. I couldn't believe it. It left me feeling I couldn't walk away and feel good about this transaction so I was honest and told them these cherries were not good and wanted to exchange for the other cherries which were big, juicy and healthy looking. They were rude and wanted me to take the discards with me since I had *touched* them. Maybe they can't resell them because they've been touched by a customer, but seriously, they shouldn't have been selling those anyway - they were discards to begin with. I will NEVER buy from this vender again and I suggest that you double check the quality before you walk away from the stand.

Adeleine this past weekend when we finally came up specifically for the market. End of the day, we very much enjoyed ourselves! The Market is held downtown and takes up roughly 2 city blocks. There's a nice mix of fruit and produce, artisan crafts, and fun foods and beverages. Well the selection was good, I was surprised that there weren't more farmers up this direction. There were a few berry farms, a couple of the big ones from the Yakima Valley, but overall I think there were fewer than down at the Yakima farmers market. It definitely did not leave us wanting however. After walking the entire place a couple times, we found a couple of things we didn't know we needed, and found what was probably the best shrimp taco we've had since we got back. They also had some great coffee, a couple dessert places and a solid groups making some legit cheese dip (we got the jalapeño one!) This is a solid farmers market in an eclectic little city, that does a great job of doing exactly what you would expect from such a place. Good food, good produce, and good ancillary stuff. It's worth checking out and easy to spend a few hours at!
