On the 27 of August one of NACAs realtors (Cassandra Hardimon) viewed my home from around 2:00pm-3:00pm, to my surprise when I arrived home later that day at around 9:00pm I discovered two entry points (garage door & and rear living room door) had been unlocked/unsecured for over 7 hours. Understandably I was extremely upset considering my home is listed as occupied, and this could have resulted in safety issues & monetary loss which is exactly what happened. I had around 10 pieces of sentimental jewelry totaling in around $1000-1500 that were stolen. This wasn't unfortunately noticed till around a week later after going through my jewelry bag I had hidden in my room. My suspicions immediately pointed to that day as that was the only day in the 7 months my house has been on the market that my house was left unsecured by a realtor. After getting assistance from my neighbors we were able to catch two individuals on footage who later that same day entered and left my home in a time frame of only two minutes at around 7:10 pm. That is when I suspect the theft happened. My realtor has attempted to reach out to theirs regarding the situation, but it's very obvious they do not wish to take responsibility for the situation, & even suggested that she barely showed them the home and that they could've entered through any unsecured entry points like a window, that it would be hard to prove. My question is if a person was able to enter my home and take my belongings in a short time frame of 2 mins is it more likely that the realtor left entry points open or that the two individuals "broke" into my home. I'm honestly stupefied and extremely disappointed at their response and lack of integrity to take responsibility for the situation and their realtor not assuring my home was secure. How would they feel if they were in my position, I will never see those items again, some of which were given to my by my grandmother who is deceased. Let this be a warning to whomever has a NACA agent viewing their home, that this is what can and will happen to you and how they will respond. Picture of one assailant included

    Ask the Community - NACA

How many times can a NACA member use the program to get a home? Also if a member has come across a lump some of money before the 5 years of ownership is up, can they just pay the home off in full and not be penalized?

If you are in compliance with regulations you can use the program multiple times upon Nacas approval. Also yes you can pay the remaining portion off . You may have to inform how you obtained the lump some.

We all figure he just wanted to drive up costs by fooling around rather than doing the job, unfortunately. Call the others in the area, avoid this place, even if it initially seems cheaper, you will have to hire someone else to get the job done again and get it done correctly per professional standards.

They are professional, well-regarded in the community, and a pleasure to work with. Ben is friendly, energetic, and frank in his approach to home buying. After we realized how quickly the housing market moves in Decatur (especially for homes in our price range), I started compulsively checking various real estate websites and emailing Ben to get him to show us houses that had just gone on the market that day or the day before. Was that a bit over the top? Probably. But Ben was responsive and always accomodated us in his schedule. Ben is laid back in his approach to showing homes- he lets the buyer walk around and answers any questions they may have about a property, or promises to find out the answer if he doesn't already know. Where Ben really shines is in the offer/negotiation and home repair demand process. He gave us great advice, spent tons of time explaining what various boilerplate language in the offer meant, and so forth. Ultimately, Ben helped us secure a fantastic home in our price range, in less than 2 months time. With Ben's help, we got all of the items found in the home inspection process (including some minor mold) fixed by the seller. Ben's knowledge and attention to detail at the end of the buying process during the final walk thru were impressive, and incredibly reassuring for us as first time buyers. The rest of the Keen support team- Barry and Adam in particular- were also great to work with. Adam provided a ton of useful information about setting up utilities, trash collection procedures, etc. They are also great at providing referrals (such as a vet for our cat, reputable locksmiths in the area to rekey the house, etc). Last but not least- at closing, we were given complimentary address return labels w/ a picture of the house on it, and some postcards w/ the same. Just an example of their approach- it is totally comprehensive, and they exceeded our expectations.

She took the time to really get to know what we wanted in a home, what mattered most to us, and what we could realistically afford. She also paired me with a team that fit exactly what I needed, which made such a difference and helped everything run smoothly. Chelsea was so easy to work with, always responsive, and explained everything in a way that actually made sense.
